หลักการใช้ Verb to Do

1. Verb to Do ทําหนา้ ทีเปนกรยิ าหลัก (Main Verb)
มี 4 รปู แบบ คือ

1.1. ใชใ้ น Present Tense : Do / Does

Do ใชก้ ับประธาน I, You, We, They เชน่
I do my homework in the evening. (ฉันทําการบา้ นตอนเยน็ )

They do a lot of work around the town. (พวกเขาทํางานมากมายรอบเมอื ง)

Does (คือ do เติม es) ใชก้ ับเอกพจนบ์ ุรษุ ที 3 He, She, It, Peter

เชน่ He does his work diligently. (เขาทํางานอยา่ งขยนั ขนั แขง็ )
She does nothing all day. (เธอไมท่ ําอะไรเลยตลอดทังวนั )

1.2. ใชใ้ น Past Tense : Did

Did เปนรปู อดตี (Past Tense) ของทัง do และ does
I did my homework yesterday. (ฉันทําการบา้ นเมอื วานน)ี
Tom did everything he could to help. (ทอมทําทกุ สงิ ทีเขาสามารถชว่ ยได)้

1.3. ใชเ้ ปน Past Participle : Done

Done คือ Past Participle (Verb 3) ของ Do (Past Participle คือคํากรยิ าชอ่ ง 3
ทีใชใ้ น Prefect Tense)

I have done all the hard work. (ฉันทํางานหนักมาตลอด)
Tom has done the artwork. (ทอมทํางานด้านศิลปะ)

1.4. ใช้ Verb to do แทนทีคํากรยิ า

Have you done the dishes yet? (คณุ ล้างจานหรอื ยงั )
done ในประโยคนแี ทนกรยิ า washed (ล้าง)

2. Verb to Do ทําหนา้ ทีเปนกรยิ าชว่ ย (Auxiliary Verb) โดยจะใชร้ ว่ ม
กับกรยิ าหลัก (Main Verb) เพอื สรา้ งประโยคคําถาม, ประโยคปฏิเสธ
หรอื เพอื เนน้ ยาํ ความสาํ คัญ

ขอ้ ควรระวงั : กรยิ าชว่ ย Do จะไมใ่ ชใ้ นประโยคทีมี Verb to be หรอื Modal Verb (can, must, might, should, etc….)

2.1. ในประโยคคําถาม ใช้ Do, Does, Did มาวางไวต้ ้นประโยค หนา้ ประธาน
ประโยคคําถามทีเปน Simple Present Tense ใช้ Do / Does
Do you come from England? (คณุ มาจากประเทศอังกฤษใชไ่ หม?)
Does she like sport? (เธอชอบกีฬาใชไ่ หม?)

ประโยคคําถามทีเปน Past Tense ใช้ Did
Did you always take the bus to school? (คณุ นงั รถบสั ไปโรงเรยี นเปนประจาํ ใชไ่ หม?)

Did Tom like the movie? (ทอมชอบภาพยนตรใ์ ชไ่ หม?)

ขอ้ สงั เกต: ในประโยคคําถาม Does, Did ทีประธานเปนเอกพจนบ์ ุรษุ ที 3 คํากรยิ าหลักจะเปนรปู พนื ฐานไมเ่ ติม s เชน่
Does she like sport?, Did he speak English?

นอกจากนเี รายงั ใช้ do, does, did กับประโยค Wh – Questions (what, where, when,
why, who, how, how many, how much.) ไดด้ ว้ ย เชน่

What does he think? (เขาคิดอะไร?)
When do you wake up? (คณุ ตืนนอนเมอื ไหร/่ กีโมง?)
Where do you want to go? (คณุ อยากไปทีไหน?)
How much do you weigh? (คณุ หนกั เท่าไหร?่ )

2.2. ในประโยคปฏิเสธ

รปู ปฏิเสธของ do คือ do not (don’t)
รปู ปฏิเสธของ does คือ does not (doesn’t)
รปู ปฏิเสธของ did คือ did not (didn’t)

Doesn’t – Don’t ใชก้ ับประโยคปฏิเสธใน Present Tense
I don't like sport. (ฉันไมช่ อบกีฬา)
He doesn't like sport. (เขาไมช่ อบกีฬา)

Didn’t ใชก้ ับประโยคปฏิเสธใน Past Tense โดยใชไ้ ดก้ ับประธานทกุ ตัว
(I, You, We, They, He, She, It)

I didn't know you were coming. (ฉันไมร่ วู้ า่ คณุ กําลังมา)
He didn’t go on holiday last year. (ปทีแล้วเขาไมไ่ ดไ้ ปพกั ผอ่ นในวนั หยุด)

2.3. การใช้ Verb to Do เพอื เนน้ ยาํ ความสาํ คัญ
บางครงั เราใช้ do, does, did ในประโยคบอกเล่าเพอื เนน้ ยาํ ความสาํ คัญเปนพเิ ศษ
โดยเวลาพูดจะเนน้ เสยี งที do, does, did เชน่

Sarah does have a lot of friends. (ซารา่ มเี พอื นเยอะมาก)
(ซงึ เราอาจจะแปลกใจทีซารา่ มเี พอื นเยอะ เลยเนน้ คําที does)
I do want to go Italy. (ฉันอยากไปอิตาลี)
(เนน้ ที do เพอื ยาํ วา่ ฉันอยากไป)
He does work hard. (เขาทํางานหนกั )
(เนน้ ที does เพอื ยาํ วา่ ทํางานหนกั )
I did lock the door. (ฉันล็อกประตแู ล้ว)
(เนน้ ที did เพอื ยาํ วา่ ล็อกประตแู ล้ว)
