It was half past two in the morning. I tossed and turned hoping to get
some sleep. I was sweating and my body felt feverish. My throat hurt. I
went downstairs to get a drink. When I reached downstairs, I felt myself
swaying. The room was spinning. Then, everything went dark.


When I came to, I realised that I wasn’t in my bed. I tried sitting up
but my head felt like a ton of bricks. Then, I heard a soothing voice. It was

my mother. She told me to lie down. Then, she asked me to sip some water.

I looked at her with questions in my eyes. She nodded. She told me
that she and my father had heard a crash downstairs in the kitchen. When

they got down, they were startled to see me lying motionless on the f oor.
They took me to the hospital immediately.


Apparently, I had caught a nasty bug. I had a high temperature.
However, the doctor told me that I would be as good as new after a few
days in the hospital. I sighed with relief when I heard that.
