Built on Faith. Bound for Excellence.
#family “My experience at Albertus was absolutely
profound. This school felt like a home
away from home. I loved that Albertus
is a diverse place with activities for any
student with any interest. Not only was I
given a fantastic educational opportunity,
I was able to step outside my comfort
zone and do new things in the arts and
multiple community service activities. I
developed skills that will last a lifetime.”

“Having a group of teachers that went above and
beyond to invest in me as a scholar, and as a person,
is what transformed me during my time at Albertus.
Albertus has some secret treasures—educators that
don’t show up to a job, they show up to a calling.”

“Albertus gave me opportunities to challenge
myself; whether that was the football coach
giving me the ball on a 4th down play, teachers
encouraging me to take AP courses, or friends
helping me study for the SAT. I will always be
grateful for my Albertus Magnus friends, teachers,

The Dominican Difference TRADITION OF
TRANSFORMING LIVES
Guided by the spirit of our founders, the
Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, Albertus Magnus
continues to be “the” premier Catholic college
preparatory high school in Rockland County
serving Rockland and surrounding counties.
The Dominican Difference provides an
atmosphere of faith, respect and belonging for
our students, inspiring in them a true desire for
local and global outreach. We encourage our
students to question what they encounter in the
world and to be the positive change they wish
to see. We call on students to find their passions
and put them into action, preparing them to be
global citizens.
Our Mission
Albertus Magnus High School is a Catholic,
co-educational community of Faith in which
our future leaders strive for academic
excellence, seek Truth, and show respect
for the dignity of each person.
Our History
Albertus Magnus High School is administered by
the Dominican Congregation of Our Lady of the
Rosary Sparkill, New York. The order was founded
by Mother Catherine Mary Antoninus Thorpe on
May 6, 1876 in New York City.
In the early 1950’s the Dominican Sisters of
Sparkill took upon themselves the responsibility
for creating a Catholic secondary school in
Rockland County. In July 1957 the property was
purchased and thus began the journey of Albertus
Magnus High School. By September 1960, the new
school and convent were ready for occupancy.
Since the first graduating class in 1961, more than
8,000 students have had the privilege of receiving
a quality education in a school dedicated to
Catholic doctrine and gospel values.

“Having the opportunity to take
challenging AP classes as well as dual-
enrollment college courses with RCC and
STAC has prepared me for the next stage
of my academic journey as I apply to
college. The opportunities I have had as
a scholar athlete here at Albertus have
enabled me to be recruited by DI coaches
at both private universities and service
academies. Thanks to the doors Albertus
has opened for me in the classroom and
on the track, and I am very excited and
well-prepared for my academic, athletic,
and spiritual future.”

“When I entered Albertus, I was an
outgoing, well-meaning kid looking for
a place to use my energy for good. My
involvement with the campus ministry
program and as an AMHS ambassador
has been nothing short of life changing.
The experiences and teachers I have
had, and the friends I have made will
stay with me forever. I cannot imagine
where I would be if I did not attend
Albertus Magnus High School — it has
been one of the best decisions, if not
THE greatest decision, I have
