Robert's artistic journey began at a tender age, as he discovered his innate talent for drawing at the young age of five. As a teenager, his father, recognizing his artistic potential, taught him the art of painting homes. This formative experience not only honed his skills but also introduced him to the world of colors and the art of mixing them. Fascinated by the interplay of colors, Robert began experimenting with graffiti, which allowed him to express his artistic voice freely. As a self-taught artist, Robert's unwavering passion for his craft led him to make a significant life-changing decision. In 2004, he took a leap of faith, leaving his full-time job at the Chicago Tribune to pursue a career in art. Determined to dedicate himself fully to his creative pursuits, he purchased an art studio, transforming it into a space where his artistic vision could thrive. In 2005, Robert's undeniable talent caught the attention of a discerning gallerist who recognized his exceptional artistic abilities. The gallerist was captivated by Robert's unique use of color and sought to represent him, becoming an essential catalyst for his artistic success. Since then, Robert's career has soared to new heights, and he has never looked back. Robert's artistic prowess has attracted the attention of notable collectors, including Daniel Parker, one of the founding members of the African Diaspora, as well as prominent figures such as the headquarters of JP Morgan Chase, the CEO of Universal Records in New York, professional athletes, and esteemed Chicago news anchor Cheryl Burton, among others. His work resonates with a diverse range of collectors, illustrating the universal appeal of his art. Beyond his individual success, Robert is committed to fostering a sense of unity among Black artists, recognizing the importance of collective growth. He has identified a problem within the artistic community and is determined to find a solution. He envisions creating a space where Black artists can come together, collaborate, and support one another. To achieve this, Robert actively encourages art enthusiasts to support artists by attending shows, remaining engaged with local youth, and nurturing emerging talents. In addition to his artistic endeavors, Robert is a devoted family man, happily married and the proud father of four. His personal experiences and relationships serve as a constant source of inspiration, enriching his artistic expression and infusing his work with depth and emotion. When asked about his creative process, Robert confidently proclaims, "I get my inspiration from color. I see art through color!"
