The naughty
squirrel
1
In the big forest, there
was a medium-sized house.
There lived Sophie’s family
and her pet, Cici.
2
Every evening, Sophie and her
pet will play in the garden
behind Sophie’s house. They
are sitting under a big tree in
the garden.
3
Sophie likes to play and tease
her pet, Cici. They live
peacefully and often help
each other.
4
“Are you dry today, Cici ?” asks
Sophie. She is teasing Cici
regarding falling in the pond a
few days ago.
“Yes, I am dry today,” smiles
Cici.
“Thank you for helping me to
get out of the pond last
time,” said Cici, appreciating
the help Sophie had done
before.
5
One evening, Sophie went to the
garden alone. She was shocked when
she saw the circumstances of the
garden. The garden where she always
played with Cicic was full of bitten
apples and it looks so dirty.
6
She believes that Cici will not
do that because, after they
went to the park, she put
Cici in the cage. Sophie felt
uncomfortable and worried
something bad might happen
in the garden.
7
One day, while they were having
fun playing under a tree. Plop!
Something falls down from the
tree.
Plop! What was
that ?
I don’t
know
8
Plop! Plop! It happened again twice!
“Look at this !” says Sophie. Cici
moves closer to Sophie. Sophie
pointed at something. Cici looked at
it. It’s apples that have been bitten.
Look at
this !
Plop!
Plop!
9
They look around the
ground. They find two more
apples. Plop! It drops right
on top of Sophie’s head.
Yuck!
Yuck !
10
Sophie and Cici heard
someone laughing. They look
up, and what do they see? It’s
a squirrel. It’s Baba, the
naughty Squirrel!
HAHAHH
AHHAHA
11
Sophie and Cici are unhappy.
This is a very naughty
squirrel. Why is Baba drops
an apple that has been bitten
on top of Sophie’s heads?
12
“You come down here right
now!” says Cici.
“Yes,” says Sophie. “You must
help us clean up this mess.”
But Baba just laughs. Now he
starts to jump from branch to
branch. Oops!
13
He misses a branch. He falls to
the ground. Plop! But this time
it’s not an apple. This time it is
the naughty squirrel. Baba did not
move. Oh, no! Is Baba hurt?
14
Sophie and Cici are scared.
They are not happy about the
apples. But they don’t want
Baba to be hurt. They run over
to see if Baba is okay.
15
He jumps up, laughs, and runs around in
circles.
He is not hurt. He was just pretending to be
hurt. He runs and jumps and does
cartwheels and somersaults.
16
Sophie and Cici laugh at Baba.
He is a naughty squirrel, but he
is also a very funny squirrel.
“My name is Baba!” he says as
he runs around. “I’m Sophie and
this is Cici,” says Sophie.
17
Sophie and Cici start to run
around with Baba. Now they try
to chase him, but
he is too fast. He runs around
the tree and they follow him. He
looks behind him and does not
see the apples that have been
bitten on the ground.
18
Baba slips on the apples. He
sat on the ground, holding
back the pain.
Plop! He lands on his back
again. This time, Sophie and
Cici sit in front of Baba. He
felt very embarrassed.
19
Why are you looking at me?
Shouts Baba. Go away! Go away
from me!
We can’t let you go until you
answer a question. Says Cici.
Yes, says Sophie. Why do you
drop the apples that you have
been bitten?
20
“I don’t know,” laughs Baba. “I
don’t know what to do with the
apples after I eat.”
“But this is not good,” says
Sophie.“We don’t want in our
garden dirty with the apples
that you have eaten.
21
“You’re right,” says Baba. “I’m
sorry. I made a mess, and now
I must clean it up.” So Baba
starts to pick up apples. There
are lots of apples, so Sophie
and Cici help Baba.
22
Now the garden is clean.
“Thank you for helping us
to pick up apples,” says
Sophie.
23
Starting that day, they
became friends and always
kept the garden in a clean
and cheerful condition.
Moral value
1. We should not make fun of others
because sometimes it can cause
ourselves to get hurt
2. We should not hurt other people feeling
by making mean joke and make fun of
them.
3. Furthermore, we must always keep the
environment clean and safe to play.
