Hello Wheelchair Tennis Fans! June 2017

We here at the CWTF are hoping everyone’s summer season is
off to a good start and you’re all enjoying health and happiness
on and off the court.

Below are several updates on what the organization is focusing
on in the coming months.

We had a successful June 3rd yearly fundraising event hosted
by our new friends at Lakewood Park Tennis Center
www.lakewoodparktennis.com/
Our net proceeds approached $1,000 for the day-- thanks in
part to all the folks that came out for the event. Several
sponsors included but not limited to: Gates Tennis anonymous
sponsor, CD at Rocky Mountain Sports, Steve at Rocky Mountain
Racquet Specialist, Rich Berman and his wife Elle who helped
teach the drill sessions, and many, many financial donors who
attended the event. Finally, a big thank you to all of our
volunteers that helped manage, plan and implement this
important fundraiser. Thank you ALL !

As we mentioned last month, due to the construction updates at
Arvada Tennis Center and the many alternative city courts that
are now over-utilized, the board decided to plan an ad-hoc
up/down league at LPTC this summer and early fall instead.
Please stay tuned for exact start dates and times. In the
meantime, Michelle Crouse at ATC created a reduced-format
up/down league using a temporary court in Arvada. Please see
our website www.cwtf.net for location, times and more info.

The board also decided that our weekly summer drop-in clinics
with Rich Berman have been cancelled or delayed due to lack of
interest. Please contact Bill Trubey if you have an interest in
playing at [email protected]

On the tournament front, the CWTF will be partnering with RMTC Bill Trubey
in Boulder for a mid-July (and Fall) Boulder Open tournament Executive Director
and, the Elliott Family in Grand Junction for the Western Slope
Open the third weekend of July. More info on all these events,
tournaments and clinics are available on our website at
www.cwtf.net.

Don’t forget to like us on Facebook and we hope to see you all
on the courts soon.

Keep rolling!

Bill Trubey,
CWTF Executive Director
