PART 1
TEST INTRODUCTION
A Proficiency test is a test that assesses a learner’s Language
ability, and this test is rarely used in the classroom, but it is often used as
the goal and motivation of language learning. However, the we designed
this Proficiency test based on the Common European Framework of
Reference for Languages or CEFR in order to assess the learners whether
they can pass and achieve the A2 level. According to the Common
European Framework of Reference for Languages or CEFR, the A2 level
can be described as “basic level” or “elementary level”, which is sufficient
for tourism and socializing with English speakers.
Meanwhile, the objective of the test is based on the official CEFR
guidelines in the A2 level that includes three objectives. The first is to be
able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to
areas of most immediate relevance (e.g., very basic personal and family
information, shopping, local geography, employment). Second objective
is to be able to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a
simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine
matters. The last objective is to be able to describe in simple terms
aspects of his/her background, immediate environment, and matters in
areas of immediate need.
Therefore, we have decided and think that we will use the
Important skills that are Grammar and Vocabulary to make this test based
on CEFR basement to create this test for everyone who wants to take the
test and assess their ability in A2 level. Also, to make the test we
consider that the test will be based on the reasonable, reliable, validity,
and authenticity that is suitable and match with what A2 level learners or
test takers should have in their required knowledge.

COMMENTS AND TEST REVISION
4.1 Comments
4.1.1 Grammar
In the six sentences above, we revised due to the sentences’ not
matching the test specifications. Some sentences require a relative
pronoun rather than a prepositional phrase, and some words may be
difficult at an A2 level. So we changed them into other sentences.
GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY TEST PAGE 6
We revised because there are two possible answers. (before and during)
and we changed the answer from “during” to “over”and “until” to “after”.
We revised because the sentence was too easy if we compared it with
another sentence.
Due to the sentences' not matching the test specifications, which are
countable and uncomfortable nouns, we changed them into other
sentences.

EVALUATION OF
THE TEST WE REVISE
We concluded that every question from both parts was
reliable and valid after all of the tests had been revised. This is
because each question was created using content from reliable
resources and content that corresponded to the test level. Despite
the fact that the test was unable to be evaluated, we are confident
that every question we have produced will be beneficial to test
takers. If test takers are unable to complete the exams we have
prepared, we will review all of the test scores and come up with
ways to enhance the test so that it is more reliable.
