Primary 2: Rev Up! English

Benji was a very special boy. When he was a baby, he met with an
accident and he could not walk. Nonetheless, people called him Jolly Benji
because he was always happy and positive about everything around him and
made everyone around him happy.

One day, a grumpy boy, Greg, joined Benji’s class. No matter what 5
Benji said to him, Greg would always find some reason to be unhappy. “My
parents didn't buy me my favourite toy ... I didn’t win at the game ... I don't
like my dinner…” Everything seemed to be a misfortune to him. Benji never gave
up trying to cheer Greg up with patience and a smile.

Last weekend, the two of them were walking along a block of flats. 10
A cake dropped from a window above and landed right on Benji’s head! The two
boys were shocked and speechless! Just as Greg was about to start grumbling
about Benji’s misfortune, he decided to make a joke, “Wow, Benji, that's a nice
clown hat you have put on! And you have done it so quickly too!”

On saying those words, both boys started laughing happily. That 15
was when Greg realised that in seeing the good and the funny side of
everything, he could chase away his own unhappiness and bring joy to others as
well!
