Why is responsibility important?

A consequence is what happens as a result of our

actions. When you are responsible, you have a

positive outcome and you get the positive

consequence for a job well done. If you are

irresponsible, you feel the pain of a negative

consequence for a job done poorly or not at all.

Comparison of Adjectives

Adjectives describe nouns or pronouns by giving some information about
an object. There are three forms of adjectives used to show varying
degrees of comparison: the positive, the comparative and the superlative.

The Positive Mary is as tall as Jane.
The positive form is used when The knight is as brave as a lion.
there is no direct comparison
being made to anything specific The Comparative
but is used to offer a broad or The comparative form is used

general comparison. when two things are being
compared with each other.
A chick is smaller than a duckling.
The rain is heavier today than it
was yesterday.

The Superlative Mount Everest is the world’s
The superlative form is used tallest mountain.
when more than two things are

being compared with one
another.

Most adjectives end with ‘~er’ in the comparative form and ‘~est’ in the
superlative form.

E.g. This knife is sharper than that one.
This knife is the sharpest of the three knives.

For an adjective that has two or more syllables, we usually add more or less
in front of it to change it to the comparative form and the most or the least
to change it to the superlative form.

E.g. This tool is more useful than that one. 2
Alvin is less hardworking than his brother.
He is the most humble man I know.
That building has the least occupants in this area.

The following is a short story that grandmother Nat told to her grand-daughter, Keisha.

Mavis, Angie, Chrystal and Anne came over one night for an evening of
ghostly tales. They loved telling spooky stories and dredging up the creepiest anecdotes
to while away the dreary winter nights.

It was great fun as we gathered around the fireplace. On this particular
night, it seemed that Chrystal had a few hair-raising stories up her sleeve. She had
everyone scared by the time the evening came to an end.

As usual, I offered to walk them halfway home, especially since they
dreaded the thought of passing through the graveyard, alone. Halfway through the
graveyard, Mavis suddenly shrieked and pointed in the direction of what looked like a pale
ghostly figure, floating in mid-air amidst some funny-freaky sounds. Since everyone was
already jumpy, they immediately assumed that it had to be a ghost for sure. Each one
turned around and ran in all directions to hide behind the bushes. An eerie silence filled
the air for some time as each one hid away; scared of what was out there.

I bravely peeked out from behind the little bush, to have a better look at the
pale creature. It was no ghost! The wind had picked up a white sheet and draped it
perfectly over one of the taller tombstones. The flapping of the cloth made it seem like a
floating object and the freaky sounds was only the wind sneaking through the highest
trees and surrounding buildings. I burst out in laughter as I shouted out to the girls to
come out from the bushes.
