Experience of the ISA Coordinator

We at Delhi Public School strive to make each child into a wholesome
human being, who would become an integral part of the community-
reaching out to every part of the world and enriching it in their own
special way. Celebrates the exemplary practices of internationalism in
our school, we take pride in moving into the third rhythm of ISA
Accreditation from British Council.
Fostering the international policy adopted by school, we, as the ISA
Coordinators, indulged into extensive planning and brainstorming
sessions to conceptualize an ISA Action Plan. We made a conscience
endeavour to weave the ISA activities into our everyday curriculum
conducted during the course of the year. An inter-disciplinary approach
was established for the activities. A team of teachers were identified for
implementing the Action Plan.
Each of the seven activities was well thought of to enrich the teaching-
learning experience and bringing our students closer to different
cultures from different parts of the world. The toddlers took their first
step towards becoming global citizenship while learning dance, art
forms, and languages of an array of countries. The taste buds were
sensitized, as the students of Junior School worked on know more about
nutritious food of different countries.Students of Junior and Middle
School got to explore the National and Indigenous sports of the chosen
countries. The enchanting folk tales of selected countries helped
students of Middle School learn and imbibe the best of those
cultures. They succeeded in imparting the same learning about Indian
folk tales to the students of the Partner School of Poland. While
photographing various aspects of French cultures, students of Senior
School got to witness and understand marvelous aspects of the Partner
country.

Experience of the ISA Coordinator

The French students reciprocated the samethoughts while
capturing glimpse of the Indian culture.Provoking real examples of
global and local connect, aspects like sustainability and renewable
energy were also included. This helped our students of Middle
School to analyze and understand where India stands on a global
platform in respect to usage of renewable energy are concerned.
They could also draw a roadmap about the future of sustainability
drawing examples from Partner school of Germany. Challenging the
stereotypes about other people and places, study about mental
health of various countries was also focused upon by the Senior
School students.
During the mammoth task of collating and compiling
documentation for each activity, we embarked on a journey of
learning and inferred innovative ideas for presentation.
The ISA activities at DPS, were centered around nurturing the long
established association with partner schools in Germany, France
and Poland too.

As we spearheaded this venture, which was yet again an
experience of further wisdom and growth, we would like to thank
our Principal, Ms. Aditi Misra , Vice Principal, Ms. Santvna Thadani
and Dean of Student Welfare, Ms. Sapna Dhawan for their
unstinting support and encouragement. We also acknowledge the
relentless guidance and support of Ms. Renuka Fernandes
throughout the ISA journey.
