Dear Friends and Supporters,Because of you, 2025 was a year of meaningful impact across Ascension St. Vincent.Your generosity is advancing compassionate, trusted care for patients and families in every community we serve. From creating calming, healing environments to expanding programs like Pediatric Nurse Navigation and Healing Arts, you are helping patients experience care that treats the whole person in body, mind, and spirit. You are also driving innovation and access. Investments in advanced equipment and spaces, like the new outdoor healing area at Trinity Behavioral Health Clinic, are transforming how and where care is delivered. At the same time, your support is building lasting impact through the establishment and growth of endowments for important programs like the Eric N. Prystowsky, MD, Cardiology Fellowship, Mobile Dental Clinic Endowment and the Peyton Manning Children’s – St. John’s Children’s Clinic. The impact of philanthropy is especially clear in the Women and Infants Hospital where more than 3,000 babies were delivered in the first year. As a Level IV Perinatal Center, it provides the highest level of care for mothers and babies in a coordinated, healing environment you helped create. Generosity is also reflected within our own teams. More than 2,200 associates contributed over $1 million to support patient care, programs, and each other.Inspired by the legacy of the Daughters of Charity, you are bringing health, healing, and hope to life every day. Thank you for everything you make possible. With gratitude,Ann HauptVice PresidentAscension St. Vincent Foundation3Letter from leadershipCALLED TO CARE IMPACT – PAGE 23 SUPPORTING OUR ASSOCIATES – PAGE 282025 Annual Impact Report

6The power of planned giving: How one gift has impacted thousandsArthur and Ruth Browne were lifelong supporters of their community, with deep ties to Indiana. Arthur, a World War I veteran and Indiana University graduate, met Ruth during his college years. He went on to build a successful career as a stockbroker, eventually becoming vice president at the local firm F.S. Moseley. In the 1970s, Arthur served on the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation board, and in the 1980s, he became a grateful patient. Together, he and Ruth chose to quietly give back, naming the Foundation as the beneficiary of their estate. With guidance from their financial and legal advisors, the Brownes created a charitable remainder unitrust, ultimately designating the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation as the beneficiary of the remaining assets after their passing. In partnership with their family, their legacy gift has been designated to establish an endowment supporting the ongoing operations of the renamed Arthur and Ruth Browne St. Vincent House.Arthur and Ruth Browne St. Vincent House has served more than 29,300 guests from 44 states since it opened in 2017. Located on the Ascension St. Vincent campus in Indianapolis, the 20-room hospitality house provides free or low-cost accommodations for families whose loved ones are receiving treatment. Guests have access to private bedrooms, shared kitchen and laundry facilities, a prayer chapel, family-friendly gathering spaces, and free shuttle service to the hospital. More than a place to sleep, the House offers peace of mind and emotional support to families facing life’s most difficult moments. Planned gifts like the Brownes’ are essential to the future of healthcare and they are more accessible than many people realize. Each planned gift is shaped by the donor’s wishes, values, and relationship with Ascension St. Vincent, just as it was for Arthur and Ruth. Ascension St. Vincent Foundation“While our family is honored by the renaming of the hospitality house, what means even more is knowing that their name is now a lasting part of Ascension St. Vincent’s Mission to provide compassionate care,” said Bill Browne, great-nephew of Arthur and Ruth. “Their legacy of generosity, kindness, and service lives on through this space, and we are proud that the Arthur and Ruth Browne St. Vincent House will continue to serve and comfort families for generations to come.”

Ascension St. Vincent Foundation SUPPORTING OUR MISSIONFunding PrioritiesThe Foundation is committed to making a lasting impact on Ascension St. Vincent patients and families by funding initiatives that enhance patient care, support our associates, and elevate the overall healthcare experience. Through generous donor contributions, we invest in these four focus areas:10Ascension St. Vincent Foundation ignites donor generosity to advance the Ascension St. Vincent Mission, Vision, and Values, focused on elevating and enhancing compassionate, trusted care within our communities.1. SUPPORTING OUR MISSIONSupport for those underservedAccess to health care should never depend on geography, income, or circumstance, yet for many individuals and families, these factors remain significant barriers. Our underserved populations face complex challenges that extend far beyond a single medical diagnosis. Transportation limitations, financial strain, language barriers, food insecurity, and lack of preventive care all contribute to delayed treatment and poorer health outcomes. The Foundation is proud to play a critical role in advancing our Mission by investing in programs that directly address these barriers. This impact is part of a broader commitment across our ministry, which provides $314 million in charity care annually at over 250 care sites in Indiana – Answering God’s call to bring health, healing and hope to all.In partnership with ministry leadership, gaps in care were identified and thanks to generous donor support, the Foundation was able to respond to both emerging and ongoing needs. As a result, more than $600,000 in fiscal year 2025 directly advanced these efforts. In Anderson, car seats, diabetic supplies, and essential safety resources were provided through Medical Mission at Home. In Kokomo, the Barbara Borland Peelle Fund delivers targeted assistance for transportation and medications, helping patients overcome immediate barriers to treatment. The Fishers Community Garden provides a restorative space for associates to recharge and connect while also supplying fresh, locally grown produce to families in need through community partnerships. In Indianapolis, donor support allows access to care to the poor and vulnerable while surrounding them with stability and dignity. The Arthur and Ruth Browne St. Vincent House offers a home away from home for qualified patients and families traveling over 60 miles for treatment. Health Access ensure patients have continuity of care by assisting with transportation costs, and the Mobile Mammography Unit expands access to screenings, helping detect disease earlier for patients without medical coverage. In Evansville, donor engagement addresses both immediate needs and long-term health outcomes for vulnerable patients. The Healthy Beginnings program provides essentials to new mothers, including car seats and cribettes, while dental care is provided to our most vulnerable pediatric patients through the Mobile Dental Clinic.Through continued collaboration and the generosity of donors, barriers are removed, possibilities expand, and lives are changed, transforming not only individual patient journeys, but entire communities. 12Strengthening pediatric care across IndianaSUPPORTING OUR MISSIONPeyton Manning Children’s Hospital and its network of care sites across Indiana continue to expand access to high quality, compassionate pediatric services. Donors are supporting enhanced care at each of these locations advancing care where it is needed most: the Mobile Dental Clinic in Evansville, the Children’s Clinic in Anderson, and the Birthing Center in Kokomo are a few of many examples. In Evansville, the Mobile Dental Clinic is removing one of the most persistent barriers to health, access to dental care by delivering care through the associate-driven mobile clinic bus. By stationing the clinic directly at local schools, the clinic provides preventive screenings, cleanings, and urgent treatment that help reduce pain, prevent more serious conditions, and keep children in school. The Mobile Dental Clinic delivers care to more than 1,500 pediatric patients, many of whom would otherwise go without essential dental services. Donor support ensures the clinic can continue expanding its reach and serving children where access is limited.Ascension St. Vincent FoundationIn Anderson, the Peyton Manning Children’s – St. John Children’s Clinic serves as a critical access point for pediatric care. The clinic provides more than 5,000 patient visits annually, supporting children and families who rely on consistent, affordable healthcare services. Many of these patients face complex social and economic challenges, making access to a trusted medical home essential. Generous donor support helps sustain operations, ensuring no child is turned away and that families continue to receive compassionate, comprehensive care close to home. In Kokomo, the Birthing Center is designed to support both mothers and our youngest patients. Donor support continues to support innovative capital equipment and thoughtfully designed spaces that promote healthy outcomes. As demand for maternal and infant services grows, this investment ensures families have access to high quality care in a setting built to support healing, bonding, and long term wellness.Together, these priorities reflect a strategic commitment to expanding access, improving outcomes, and meeting families where they are. Every donor contribution directly strengthens these efforts, ensuring children across Indiana receive the care they need at every stage of life.

13SUPPORTING OUR MISSION2025 Annual Impact ReportAdvancing the future of heart care in IndianaBecause of generous donors like you, Ascension St. Vincent is preparing the next generation of heart care specialists to meet a growing need for cardiologists across Indiana. In 2025, the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation alongside dedicated physicians, donors and community leaders, launched fundraising efforts for the Eric N. Prystowsky, MD, Cardiology Fellowship Endowment. Recognized nationally for excellence in cardiac care, Ascension St. Vincent is uniquely positioned to shape the future of cardiovascular medicine through education, research, and clinical training. This endowment will provide support for a fellowship experience that equips physicians with world-class training under the guidance of leading cardiovascular experts, advancing innovation in patient care and outcomes for years to come. The endowment is named in honor of Eric N. Prystowsky, MD, FAHA, FACC, FHRS, whose decades of leadership have profoundly influenced cardiovascular medicine at Ascension St. Vincent and beyond. Dr. Prystowsky has served the organization since 1988, specializing in electrophysiology and leading the Cardiac Arrhythmia Service. He also played a foundational role in establishing the original cardiology fellowship at Ascension St. Vincent, helping build the academic and clinical excellence that continues to define its heart care leadership today. This endowment recognizes his clinical and academic contributions and his lasting commitment to training future generations of cardiologists. To learn more about the fellowship and the impact of philanthropic support, scan the QR code to view a short video highlighting the vision for the future of cardiology at Ascension St. Vincent. 14SUPPORTING OUR MISSIONA culture of giving from withinAscension St. Vincent FoundationAssociates All-IN also brings energy and connection to each ministry through a sense of friendly competition and unique, engaging associate events. Ministries across the state participate in a statewide challenge, with a traveling trophy awarded to the location achieving the highest percentage of associate participation. In 2025, the trophy was proudly presented to Randolph, one of our Critical Access Hospitals, where an impressive 66% of associates made a gift. At the center of the campaign is a shared commitment to meeting the greatest needs across our communities. Associates are encouraged to support either Health Access, a priority initiative that helps remove barriers to care by connecting individuals and families to essential healthcare and social services across the state, or a need that is meaningful within their local ministry and community. This focus reflects a deep understanding among associates that access to care is foundational to improving health outcomes and strengthening communities statewide. During the most recent fiscal year, the Health Access Pathways program continued to expand its impact by addressing both healthcare access and social determinants of health for vulnerable individuals and families. The program facilitated over 12,500 referrals connecting community members to the care and services they need to improve long-term health outcomes. Transportation remained one of the most significant barriers to care, with more than 10,000 transportation rides completed. As the need for support continues to grow, the program hasexpanded to 36 team members to strengthen support statewide.Associates All-IN continues to reflect the strength of a shared purpose across Ascension St. Vincent. More than a fundraising campaign, it represents a culture where associates choose to invest in one another, in their patients, and in the communities they serve. In 2025, that collective commitment was evident across the state. More than 2,200 associates supported the Foundation, contributing over $1 million to support programs, funds, and events that matter most to them locally. These contributions directly impact patient care while also strengthening resources available to associates themselves. Mallory Luebbe, BSN, RN shares why she participates in Associates All-IN and her personal support for Health Access: “This team meets our community neighbors where they are and equips them with the right resources to move forward in their health journey. They truly bring our call to “love your neighbor” to life.”

15SUPPORTING OUR MISSIONInvesting in specialized careBuilding healthier beginnings for familiesJanuary 2025 marked the opening of the new Women and Infants Hospital, a transformational investment in maternal and infant care supported through donor generosity through the Care for Tomorrow Campaign. By bringing labor and delivery, women’s services, and neonatal intensive care together in one location, the hospital creates a more seamless experience for families and strengthens coordination among care teams during some of life’s most critical moments. In the first year, more than 3,000 babies were delivered, including over 1,200 cesarean births, with close collaboration alongside the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) team supporting more than 900 newborns requiring specialized care.Your generous support directly made the following possible: • Relocated and expanded Hilbert Pediatric Emergency Department• Expanded Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to include a dedicated pediatric Cardiovascular ICU with new beds, including isolation rooms and equipment for emergency surgeries• Launched the Pediatric Navigation Program • Supported important Patient and Family Support programs like art therapy, music therapy, the school program and pet therapy • Advanced pediatric research to improve outcomes for our youngest patients• Created a courtyard space for patients, families and associatesAs one of only two Level IV Perinatal Centers in Indiana, the hospital delivers the highest level of care that is a seamless, compassionate experience for mothers and babies2025 Annual Impact ReportTransforming neurological careIn July 2025, Ascension St. Vincent celebrated the ribbon cutting of the Lucas Family Brain and Spine Hospital, made possible through the generosity of the Lucas Family. Named in their honor, the 109,000-square-foot hospital features 38 ICU-capable rooms designed to meet the most advanced neurological patient needs and connects directly to the main hospital and Level 1 trauma center creating a comprehensive hub for brain and spine care across Indiana. The hospital brings neurology, neurosurgery, spine care, advanced imaging, and rehabilitation services together in one destination for patients facing complex brain and spine conditions. Thoughtfully designed healing spaces and advanced technology support both clinical excellence and patient comfort, improving the experience for patients and families navigating their journeys. “Our family is deeply grateful for the extraordinary care we have received through Ascension St. Vincent, and it is an honor to support this exceptional organization and everything it represents. This hospital will make a difference in countless lives, and we are proud to be part of something so impactful for our community and those traveling to receive this world-class care.” –Shared by Katie Lucas, president of Lucas Oil and board chair of the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation, during the blessing and ribbon cutting ceremony in July 2025The Lucas family’s long-standing commitment to Ascension St. Vincent and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital continues to create lasting impact that expands access to world class neurological care for patients across the region.

17ENHANCING PATIENT CARE WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT From lifelong service to lasting impact2025 Annual Impact Reportspiritual renewal center to life. Today, her support reflects a full circle commitment to a ministry she helped shape, one centered on healing, reflection, and renewal.Through her lifetime of service and giving, Mary Nell ensures her impact will continue to be felt in spaces designed for both healing and humanity. Her legacy reflects a simple but powerful truth she lives by: the heart of the Mission is not only what we do, but how deeply we care. For Mary Nell Williams, service to others is not simply something she practices, it is the foundation of her life’s work. A lifelong Ascension St. Vincent associate, Mary Nell’s journey began the day she was born at the hospital she would later serve for decades. Her early years as a volunteer and the formative influence of meeting the Daughters of Charity shaped a calling rooted in compassionate, spiritually centered care. That calling ultimately led her into newborn intensive care nursing, where she dedicated much of her career to caring for the tiniest and most fragile patients. She even spent time as a Daughter of Charity herself, deepening her commitment to Mission driven care.Today, with more than 50 years of service and still working PRN at Seton Cove, Mary Nell is recognized as one of the longest tenured associates in Indiana. Her impact now extends far beyond the bedside as she continues to serve as a volunteer, advocate, and donor through the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation. As a direct result of Mary Nell’s generosity, the Foundation is able to strengthen bereavement support services and NICU family care programming resulting in two meaningful naming opportunities for her: a NICU patient room and a bereavement garden located between Women and Infants Hospital and Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital. Together, these investments represent a meaningful enhancement to the continuum of care, integrating dignity, compassion, and emotional support into the patient and family experience.Mary Nell’s motivation remains grounded in gratitude. “Ascension has been really good to me,” she shares. “I’ve been proud to work here, and I feel really good about the opportunity to give back.”Her connection to Seton Cove adds another layer of meaning to her legacy. Decades ago, she served on the original planning committee that helped bring the

18Advancing emergency care through innovative trainingENHANCING PATIENT CARE WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT Thanks to generous donor support to the Kokomo Foundation, new iSimulate training manikins are enhancing how Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo EMS prepares for real-world emergencies. This investment is already making a meaningful impact by advancing hands-on education for paramedics, EMTs, and first responders across the communities they serve.Responding to nearly 10,000 calls each year, the EMS team relies on ongoing, high-quality training to deliver safe, effective care. With the addition of adult, pediatric, and infant manikins, caregivers can now train across all age groups using realistic scenarios that strengthen clinical judgment, decision-making, and confidence before they ever reach a patient’s side.“These manikins will be invaluable tools in preparing our team for real-world emergencies, allowing our providers to refine their skills and ultimately provide the highest level of care to the patients and communities we serve,” shared Andrea Wright, EMS Manager. The advanced simulation technology allows instructors to adjust patient conditions in real time, creating immersive training experiences that better prepare teams for complex medical, respiratory, and cardiac emergencies. This directly translates to faster, safer, and more effective care when every second counts.Beyond internal training, the new equipment is also strengthening community partnerships. In a recent exercise, EMS staff collaborated with the Galveston Volunteer Fire Department to help prepare one of their members for the Emergency Medical Responder practical exam, demonstrating how this investment extends its impact across the region. As a training site for EMT and paramedic students, Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo EMS is also using this technology to help educate and develop the next generation of caregivers, supporting both recruitment and retention in a critical workforce.Donor generosity ensures first responders are better prepared, care teams are more confident, and patients in urgent situations receive the highest level of compassionate, lifesaving care.Bringing precision care closer to home Ascension St. Vincent FoundationDonor support helped the Specialty Clinic at Ascension St. Vincent Mercy Hospital by upgrading critical diagnostic capability with an innovative ear, nose and throat (ENT) microscope, strengthening specialty care for rural patients. The microscope offers improved optics, lighting, and magnification, enabling more accurate diagnosis and safer, more effective treatment of ENT conditions.Lexi Gates, RN, Nurse Manager of the Specialty Clinics, emphasized the importance of the upgrade for the rural community served: “A new ENT microscope is critically important for delivering high-quality care to pediatric patients where access to specialty services is already limited,” she shared. “It allows us to provide the same level of precision found in larger health systems.”As a result of this new equipment, patients will receive timely ENT diagnosis and treatment within their own community rather than traveling to distant specialty centers. The enhanced equipment supports both outpatient evaluations and procedures, helping reduce the need for long-distance referrals and keeping care local for families. This means faster diagnosis, reduced travel burden, and improved continuity of care for both pediatric and adult patients.

19ENHANCING PATIENT CARE WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT Elevating recovery and performance 2025 Annual Impact ReportAdvancing wound care through innovation and donor support At the Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Wound Clinic, a quiet but transformational change in patient care is taking place thanks to donor support of the new MESI ABI (Ankle Brachial Index) machine. For Wound Clinic associates like Jasmine Kyle, Program Director, and Shannon Kissinger, Clinical Support Manager, the impact of this new equipment has been immediate and measurable for both patients and care team members.“Before the MESI ABI machine, our nurses were using manual blood pressure cuffs to screen for peripheral arterial disease, especially for diabetic patients. It was tedious, time consuming, and vulnerable to human error,” Jasmine explains. “Now, we hook patients up to this automated machine and get results in just five minutes. It’s faster, more accurate, and ultimately improves patient outcomes.” The MESI ABI machine allows clinicians to catch health concerns earlier, reduce unnecessary referrals, and start treatment the same day, sometimes during the patient’s very first visit. This means less time on their feet for patients with mobility concerns and fewer transportation burdens for those who live far from major hospitals.Because of your generosity, Ascension St. Vincent Carmel Sports Performance is advancing the way athletes and patients recover and return to the activities they love. Clinicians now have access to VALD ForceDecks dual force plate technology—an innovative tool that enhances movement assessment, strengthens rehabilitation plans, and helps ensure a safer return to activity. ForceDecks provide objective, real time data on how the body produces and absorbs force during movement. Unlike traditional visual assessments, the technology identifies subtle asymmetries, strength deficits, and neuromuscular imbalances that can increase injury risk if not addressed.Brandon Johnson, Manager of Practice Operations, noted the impact on care delivery. “ForceDecks allow us to deliver objective, data driven assessments that improve clinical decision making, enhance athlete safety, and elevate the standard of care,” he shared. The technology will benefit youth athletes, active adults, and rehabilitation patients by supporting safer return to sport decisions, individualized training, and measurable progress tracking. It also strengthens community impact through injury prevention efforts in schools and athletic programs.Shannon shares one story: “A gentleman came in with significant swelling and wounds on both legs. We used the MESI ABI machine to assess him right away. That day, we were able to apply compression therapy immediately. His swelling reduced drastically, and some of his wounds began to heal. That kind of turnaround just wasn’t possible before.”Beyond its medical advantages, the MESI ABI machine supports insurance approvals for advanced therapieslike cellular tissue products. What used to take weeks of additional appointments and paperwork can now happen in one visit, helping our patients heal sooner.Terry Alvey, DPM, a proud supporter of this Foundation-funded equipment, reflects on the impact of his giving, by saying, “Investing in equipment like this is really about investing in people. Diabetes is so prevalent today and I am so grateful to support a treatment that brings faster, better care to our community.”

Elevating the patient and family experiences20 Ascension St. Vincent Foundation

21ELEVATING THE PATIENT AND FAMILY EXPERIENCESMedical Mission at Home Brings Health, Healing, and Hope Ascension St. Vincent Anderson’s Medical Mission at Home exemplifies the organization’s Mission and Vision in action by extending compassionate, holistic care beyond hospital walls and directly into the community. Designed as a no-cost outreach effort, the event removes barriers to access and connects individuals and families with essential health and social services in a welcoming, dignified setting.Medical Mission at Home relies on donor generosity and community partnerships to make these services possible. Support from the Anderson Foundation provided critical testing kits and screenings for colorectal and women’s health services such as mammograms and pap smears, ensuring that preventive care reaches those who might otherwise go without it. The Anderson event held in September 2025 provided a broad range of services to more than 350 individuals, including health screenings, flu shots, foot care, breathing evaluations, cardiac and behavioral health resources, OB information, and assistance with health insurancenavigation. In addition to clinical services, attendees had access to essential support resources such as food assistance, personal care items, car seat and bike safety support, haircuts, and health education. Families also benefited from engagement with local first responders, fire safety education, and interactive demonstrations that strengthened community awareness and connection. The impact of Medical Mission at Home extends beyond the services provided in a single day. The program is intentionally designed to connect individuals with ongoing care pathways, ensuring continuity of support long after the event concludes. It reflects Ascension St. Vincent’s commitment to serving the whole person body, mind, and spirit while honoring the dignity of every individual as part of the community.2025 Annual Impact Report

22Caring for vulnerable patientsStrengthening Healthy Beginnings for every familyELEVATING THE PATIENT AND FAMILY EXPERIENCESThe Healthy Beginnings program at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville supports new families during the critical days after hospital discharge, when early challenges can emerge quickly for both mother and baby. Through a nurse-led visit, the program provides postpartum assessments, newborn weight and vital checks, jaundice screening, breastfeeding support, and education on safe sleep and car seat use.The Healthy Beginnings program is made possible through generous donor support to the Evansville Foundation. In the fall, the Ted and Clare Ziemer Society granted $9,400 to ensure continued access to essential postpartum and newborn care for some of our most vulnerable patients. With guidance from experienced clinicians including Lacy Hanmore, MSN, RN, CLC, the program combines clinical expertise with compassionate follow-up care. Lacy recalls one newborn who appeared stable at discharge but returned to Healthy Beginnings for a routine jaundice check. “Everything seemed fine at first,” she explains, “but the bilirubin levels were high enough that we were able to act immediately. We coordinated hospital admission and started treatment the same day. Without that visit, the baby could have become very ill at home before their first pediatric appointment.” That timely intervention led to quick treatment and a safe recovery, underscoring the program’s ability to identify concerns early and prevent avoidable complications. In addition to clinical monitoring, Healthy Beginnings ensures families have essential safety resources. In 2024 alone, the program distributed 114 car seats along with cribettes andhands-on education from certified technicians to promote safe sleep and reduce injury risk.Thank you for helping sustain this level of care, ensuring that Healthy Beginnings can continue providing early intervention, education, and life-saving follow-up for newborns and their families during one of life’s most vulnerable transitions.Access to healthcare often depends on more than medical need. For many patients, barriers like transportation and the cost of medications can delay or even prevent essential care. At Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo, addressing these challenges is central to its Mission to serve all persons, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Thanks to the Barbara Borland Peelle Fund, patients in the community are receiving the support they need to access care and follow through with treatment. In the past year alone, over 400 rides have been provided to patients helping ensure they could continue care that might otherwise have been out of reach. Through Health Access, patients are carefully assessed and connected to resources that help remove these barriers. For some, that means assistance covering the cost of prescriptions. For others, it means securing a ride to and from critical medical appointments. Each request is reviewed to ensure support reaches those who need it most.Transportation insecurity remains one of the most significant challenges in healthcare today, particularly in rural communities where options are limited. Without reliable transportation, patients are more likely to miss appointments, delay preventive care, and experience worsening health outcomes. Similarly, the inability to afford medications can lead to complications that might otherwise be preventable. The Barbara Borland Peelle Fund directly addresses these gaps, ensuring patients can access the care prescribed to them. It is a powerful example of how philanthropic support sustains programs that are essential but often not covered by traditional healthcare funding.Ascension St. Vincent Foundation

23ELEVATING THE PATIENT AND FAMILY EXPERIENCESWomen’s philanthropy in action2025 Annual Impact ReportThanks to the generosity of Called to Care, a women’s circle of impact supporting Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital through the Ascension St. Vincent Foundation, the hospital’s School Program is expanding as a recipient of an Impact Grant which enables children to stay connected to their education during extended hospital stays. The School Program provides bedside and classroom instruction along with academic liaison services, ensuring patients stay connected to their education and their home schools while receiving treatments. With growing patient volumes and expanding clinical services, demand for educational support has increased significantly, making additional staffing essential. Thanks to this generous grant, the program has increased weekly instructional sessions and eliminated weekday coverage gaps, resulting in more than 150 additional learning sessions each year. In the most recent school year, nearly 300 patients received support from the School Program. The support also strengthens coordination with schools through 504 and Individualized Education Program (IEP) planning and smoother reintegration for students returning to the classroom. This dedicated women’s circle and the generosity of its members are committed to serving others, supporting through philanthropic gifts, and raising awareness of the hospital throughout Indiana as an ambassador for Ascension St. Vincent. 25FOSTERING CREATIVE APPROACHES TO HEALTHCAREBringing hope closer to home in Kokomo 2025 Annual Impact ReportThrough the generosity of donors to the Kokomo Foundation, the Center of Hope opened in December of 2025 and is already helping survivors in Howard County have access to critical, compassionate care when they need it most. The Center of Hope at Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo represents an expansion of trauma informed services in the community. Located inside the Emergency Department, two newly refurbished rooms provide a calm, supportive space where survivors can begin their healing journey close to home. Patient care is expected to begin as specially trained nurses complete their Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner certification, with additional staff in training.Previously, survivors often had to travel to Indianapolis for specialized exams and support. The Center of Hope changes that by offering local access to expert medical care, forensic evidence collection, and connections to counseling, shelter, and follow up services. For Missy Eagan, Clinical Manager of the ER and Center of Hope, the impact is deeply meaningful. “If I could, I would hug every donor,” she shares. “I hope they understand the magnitude of what this provides for our community. To see the relief on a patient’s face when they realize they can stay here in Kokomo for care, it means everything.”There are 22forensic nurse examiners in our statewide Ministries.Staffed by Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE) certified nurses with a goal of 24/7 coverage, the Center delivers immediate, trauma-informed support in an environment designed to reduce anxiety and restore a sense of control. Patients are cared for one on one, never rushed, and empowered to guide their own care.Through partnerships with local and statewide crisis resources, the Center also connects patients to ongoing support, recognizing that healing continues beyond the initial visit. This work has been made possible through donor support, including funding for essential equipment and renovations that brought the Center of Hope to life. As awareness grows, efforts are underway to further sustain and expand this vital program.Above all, the Center reflects a shared commitment to meet individuals at their most vulnerable with dignity, compassion, and respect and to ensure that care is available close to home when it matters most.

FOSTERING CREATIVE APPROACHES TO HEALTHCAREExpanding access to autism assessments26 Ascension St. Vincent FoundationHealing through art: A creative path to hopeAt The Anderson Center at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson, healing goes beyond traditional treatment. It is rooted in connection, creativity, and compassionate support for the whole person. Through behavioral health services designed to promote recovery and resilience, patients and families are finding hope in new and meaningful ways.A key part of this care is the Healing Arts Program, a collaboration with the Anderson Museum of Art. Made possible through generous philanthropic support, the program provides art therapy at no cost to residential patients. For individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, or long-term mental health challenges, creative expression offers a powerful outlet for healing. For 15-year-old Emma* the experience was life-changing. After struggling with anxiety, depression, and the emotional impact of her parents’ divorce, she found it difficult to open up in traditional therapy. “At first, I didn’t think painting would help. But once I started putting my feelings on the canvas, it felt like I could breathe again. It gave me a way to talk without words.” Guided by trained therapists, each session is tailored to individual needs, helping patients express emotions, reduce anxiety, and build resilience through creativity. “The goal is to help adolescent residents self-disclose in a creative, healthy manner,” said Robert Schultz, Director of Behavioral Health at The Anderson Center. In 2025, the Center celebrated its 40th Anniversary, marking four decades of providing outpatient programs, counseling, and community-based behavioral health services for individuals and families facing emotional and mental health challenges, with a focus on recovery and whole-person care.Donor support through the Ascension St. Vincent Anderson Foundation helps sustain programs like Healing Arts, Camp Hope, Equine Therapy, resident scholarships, and Day School services, ensuring continued access to life-changing behavioral health care.*Name changed to protect patient privacy. The Behavioral Health Program at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville launched an enhanced autism diagnostic training initiative, made possible through generosity to the Evansville Foundation. This start-up program strengthens clinical education, expands access to diagnostic services, and increases the organization’s capacity to serve children and families seeking autism evaluations. The program supports two year-long PhD practicum students working alongside Dr. Jamie Below and Dr. Bowersox at the Center for Children Behavioral Health. During onboarding, Dr. Below identified that current Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) training materials were outdated and no longer aligned with the most recent version of the assessment tool, creating a gap in training consistency and clinical readiness. With Foundation support, the team implemented updated ADOS-2 training resources and video-based learning modules to ensure students receive accurate, standardized instruction. This investment not only enhances education for emerging clinicians but also strengthens the integrity and efficiency of diagnostic services.By improving training quality, the program will expand the clinic’s capacity to conduct autism assessments, helping reduce wait times and increase access for families seeking timely answers. It also allows learners to gain hands-on experience using the most current diagnostic standards, better preparing them for future practice in behavioral health. This initiative represents a strategic investment in both workforce development and patient access. 27FOSTERING CREATIVE APPROACHES TO HEALTHCAREEnhancing continuity of care for pediatric patientsAt Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, families caring for children with complex medical needs often face more than treatment decisions and follow-up appointments. Through generous donor support, the Foundation funded the start of the Pediatric Nurse Navigation Program, ensuring families have a consistent point of contact to guide them throughout their care journey during and after discharge from the hospital. Donor funding will support the first ten years of the program, creating long-term support for pediatric patients and families.Pediatric Nurse Navigators act as a central link between families, primary care providers, and specialty teams. They help coordinate appointments, provide education, assist with financial and insurance-related questions, and connect families with community resources. This coordination supports smoother transitions in care and can help reduce avoidable readmissions by addressing needs earlier in the process. During the most recent fiscal year, pediatric nurse navigators served approximately 168 patients and families that helped prevent unnecessary emergency department visits.PMCH Nurse Navigators Anita Austin and Susan Chernoff shared, “It is a privilege to partner with families in their healthcare journey. Patients and families are faced with unimaginable obstacles, and we strive to serve them with compassionate care.”Evidence consistently shows that nurse navigation improves outcomes for patients with specialized healthcare needs by strengthening communication, improving service integration, and enhancing access to timely care. For pediatric patients, it also increases connection to therapies, community-based support, and financial assistance that are critical to long-term wellbeing.Families at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital now experience greater continuity, coordination, and clarity. What can feel like an overwhelming process for patients and families becomes a more guided experience, centered on the patient and supported at every step.Expanding access to autism assessments2025 Annual Impact Reportdonor support, the Behavioral Health Program is building the foundation for a more responsive, skilled, and scalable autism diagnostic service that will directly benefit children and families across the region.Kelly Shaw, Patient Navigator, reflected on the early impact of the improved training and its effect on families: “Having students in the Evansville and surrounding areas trained in these evidenced based assessments will be so important in improving early identification and intervention of autism spectrum disorders. One family we worked with let us know how much they appreciated having a student in the room who was clearly trained in how to communicate and interact effectively with their child on the spectrum. They truly felt confident that they received the gold standard in diagnostic care.”

Empowering and supporting our associates28 Ascension St. Vincent Foundation

29EMPOWERING AND SUPPORTING OUR ASSOCIATESAdvancing nursing excellence through generational leadershipIn FY25, over $350,000 was granted statewide to support associate training and certifications.2025 Annual Impact ReportFor Darcy Ackerman Ellison, who served as Chief Nursing Officer during Ascension St. Vincent Evansville’s pursuit of its first Magnet Designation, the connection between philanthropy and nursing excellence is both personal and enduring. She credits Foundation support as an early and essential part of the Magnet journey, which ultimately helped shape a culture of shared governance, professional development, and relationship-based care. This led to the creation of the Darcy Ackerman Ellison Nursing Excellence Endowment Fund that directly impacts the nursing workforce through supporting ongoing certification, recertification, and professional development for nurses at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville.Magnet designation, awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is widely recognized as the highest international honor for nursing excellence, with only a small percentage of hospitals achieving this distinction. It reflects superior patient outcomes, strong nursing engagement, and a commitment to continuous improvement.During Ascension’s Magnet journey, nursing leadership focused on building Clinical Nurse Specialist roles, establishing shared governance councils, and elevating the voice of bedside nurses in decision-making. “Everything got better when we went to this model,” Darcy shared. “Whether or not you achieve the designation, the work itself improves care, strengthens teams, and leads to better outcomes for patients.”In 2025, donor-supported reimbursements helped nurses advance professional credentials that support the continued culture of Magnet nursing excellence at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville, including maternal newborn certification and pediatric nursing recertifications. These opportunities strengthen evidence-based practice, expand specialized expertise, and ensure patients receive the highest quality care. One participating nurse reflected on the value of this support, saying, “Earning and maintaining my certification would have been difficult without this help. It not only validated my practice, it also gave me confidence in the care I provide every day. I know my patients are getting the very best of what nursing has to offer.”For Darcy, the fund represents both legacy and responsibility. “We stand on the shoulders of some incredible women,” she shared. “It is our responsibility to continue that work in support of the Mission.” She also emphasized that while the fund bears her name, its impact reflects the collective dedication of nurses across the organization who continue to advance care every day.

30Associate support powers wellnessThanks to the generous support of associates who give to the Ascension St. Vincent Kokomo Foundation, through past associate giving campaigns, the Associate Fitness Center in Kokomohas been fully renovated, creating a refreshed and welcoming space where caregivers can focus on their health and well-being.This updated facility gives associates convenient access to a space designed for physical activity, stress relief, and overall wellness. Investing in caregiver well-being helps reduce burnout and strengthens a culture where those who care for others feel supported themselves.Supporting associates to advance lifesaving ECMO careEMPOWERING AND SUPPORTING OUR ASSOCIATESAscension St. Vincent FoundationDelivering advanced Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) care at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital requires highly specialized caregivers who continuously build their expertise to care for critically ill infants and children. Thanks to generous donor support, ECMO Team Lead Stacy Yankauskas and fellow specialists attended the ECMO (SEECMO 2025) conference, gaining access to the latest research, emerging technologies, and collaboration with experts from across the country.“Without funding from the Foundation, none of this would be possible,” Stacy shared. “We’re able to bring back knowledge that directly impacts the care we provide.”That investment extends beyond the individuals attending the conference. Using a “train the trainer” approach, team members shared best practices and implemented new learning across the entire ECMO program. Following the conference, Karol Craig, RN, PICU ECMO Specialist, and Brenda Zachmann, RRT, ECMO Coordinator, partnered with the William K. Nasser, MD, Healthcare Education and Simulation Center to strengthen quarterly ECPR mock code simulations for multidisciplinary care teams. The simulations improved collaboration, strengthened communication, and reduced ECMO activation times helping critically ill patients receive lifesaving support faster. This commitment to ongoing education and evidence-based care recently helped the ECMO team earn recognition from the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization (ELSO) as a Designated Gold Level Center of Excellence.By investing in caregiver education and professional development, donors are strengthening programs like ECMO and ensuring teams are prepared to deliver the most advanced, compassionate care possible. These opportunities translate directly to the bedside, improving outcomes for the most vulnerable patients when every second matters.Associate donors are making a meaningful impact by investing in resources that directly benefit their fellow team members. Their generosity reflects a shared commitment to creating a healthier, more supportive workplace for everyone. This renovation is a powerful example of associates supporting associates. Through their giving, caregivers are helping ensure their colleagues have the resources they need to stay healthy, recharged, and ready to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.

31EMPOWERING AND SUPPORTING OUR ASSOCIATESQuiet support for associates facing hardshipThanks to support from donors, the Associate Food Pantry at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson remains well-stocked and equipped with essentials. Generous donation to the Foundation allowed the pantry to purchase a freezer to provide additional food options to associates and helps ensure that no team member goes without the basics they need.Recently, one associate’s spouse lost their job, leaving the family behind on bills. Knowing that the pantry was available meant food wasn’t something they had to worry about during that difficult time. The Anderson pantry is stocked, ordered, and organized by Stacey Burnell and Jonathan Snideman and serves associates across the Anderson ministry. New associates learn about the pantry during orientation, and contingent staff are informed by their managers. Associates can access it easily using their badge, maintaining privacy while getting what they need.Feedback from associates has been overwhelmingly positive, shared Elizabeth Hart, Volunteer and Mission Services Manager, who has been part of Ascension St. Vincent Anderson for 38 years. “Associates often express gratitude when they see the pantry being restocked, thankful that it always offers staples they can make into meals.”For Elizabeth, the pantry embodies Ascension’s Mission of compassion and service. With groceries getting more expensive, she says it’s a blessing to serve associates in this way and to know the pantry is there for anyone in need.2025 Annual Impact ReportThere are7Food Pantrieslocated within our Indiana Ministries. She also encourages others to give back through the Foundation, reminding colleagues that if we take care of our associates, they can take better care of our patients. The food pantry is just one way Foundation donors are giving back to those who give so much.
