Table 1 shows the distribution of number of candidates who registered and sat to GABECE in 2022 by
region with the respective share of girls (out of the total sat). Nationally, out of 27 783 students
registered, 27 018 students sat (at least 1 subject) to the exam. Among the number of students who
sat, 58.9% are girls.

Table 2 presents the trend of candidates with aggregate 42 or less by region over the last three years.

Compare to 2021, the number of candidates with aggregate 42 or less has increased across all regions

in 2022 except Region 1. Nationwide, the number raised from 12,354 in 2021 to 13,424 in 2022.

Similar to the trend by region, the number of candidates with aggregate 42 or less has also increased
by gender from 2021 to 2022. Additionally, there are more girls than boys with aggregate score of 42
or less over the last three years. Nationwide, the total candidates with aggregate 42 or less stand at
49.7% in 2022 compared to 47.2% in 2021.

Table 4 shows the number of candidates with pass mark or credit in the four core subjects. Comparing
2021 to 2022, the number of passes has increased in Math and SES whilst it decreases in English and
Science. Similarly, the volume of students with credit increased for Math and SES while decreased in
English and Science.

Table 6 shows a noticeable increased of the number of students with aggregate 6 in 2022 compared
to 2021 and 2020. Out of the 31 students with aggregate 6 in 2022, 13 are boys and 18 are girls.
