Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE)
The Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program provides
verification service for federal, state and local benefit granting agencies to verify a
benefit applicant’s immigration status or naturalize/derived citizenship.
SAVE is administered by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services,
a component of the Department of Homeland Security.

Updating a current user’s information
From the SAVE log in page, enter your supervisor credentials and
click the Submit button.
You will be directed to the SAVE homepage.
Select Agency>Search Users on the page header.

Enter staff member’s first and last name in the appropriate text fields.
Click Submit.
Click the staff member’s Username to access their SAVE profile.

After selecting the staff member, the user will be directed to the
USER INFORMATION page.
The staff member’s User Role, Department, Phone Number and Email address
entries may be changed from this page.

After saving changes, a confirmation screen will display indicating that the staff
member’s profile has been successfully updated.

Password Resets
Supervisors will also update staff passwords from the
USER INFORMATION page.
Select the Force Change Password checkbox (this will force the staff member to
change it upon logon. Enter the temporary password and click SUBMIT.

Password Resets
Passwords must be between 8 and 14 characters and contain at least one special
character. Special characters include ! @ $ % * ( ) < > ? : ; { } + - ~ .
A reliable temporary password can be made up of the day and date of the week, fol-
lowed by an exclamation point. (i.e. Monday7!)

To add a new staff member, from the SAVE homepage select
Agency>Add User on the page header.

You will be directed to the ADD NEW USER ROLE SELECTION page.
Select the arrow on the drop down menu to view user role options.
Most staff should be assigned the GENERAL USER– VIEW ISV responses for all user in
Department role. Click Next after making your selection.

For Department, most staff will be assigned to
Adjudication Ft. Wayne (Ft Wayne, IN) or Adjudication Indianapolis (Indianapolis, IN).

For Group, select Adjudication for Indianapolis or outstation staff, or
North Adjudication for Ft. Wayne staff. Click NEXT.

Enter the required information in the data entry fields. Click NEXT.

A username will be generated, and a temporary password must be entered. A reliable
temporary password can be made up of the day and date of the week, followed by an
exclamation point. (i.e. Monday7!)
Click SUBMIT.

A confirmation screen will display indicating that the staff member’s profile has been
successfully created.
Email the staff person with their Username and temporary password.
Direct them to sign in where they will be prompted to change their password, and se-
lect challenge questions for future password resets.
