Next to the fireplace, one corner of the expansive great room offers more seating for entertaining guests, as well as taking in the mountain and forest views on the home’s western side. left Heavy, white oak posts and braces on the front porch complement the stacked faux-stone accents at their base, as well as the stamped-concrete porch “decking.” First, the concrete was dyed brown, then stamped with a “boardwalk timber” pattern. Metal proved to be a more appropriate material for the roof’s lower pitches (given the cold weather they experience in winter), as ice jams can ride up between composite shingles if the pitch is too low.
