You will certainly never believe that Thailand will be such
fascinating artwork at this time is that THE IMPRESSIONISTS, a
multimedia exhibition that will bring everyone to immerse
themselves in the magnificent light and sound, and present the
life and works of 10 masters of the 19th century, located at
MODA Gallery, 2nd floor, River City, Bangkok. Art passionate
people or looking for a precious secluded, THE IMPRESSIONISTS
is definitely your best choice.

Saturday afternoon, the boat docked at the River City, the anchor
of the Arts and an antique shopping center with sweeping views
of the Chao Phraya River. Once walking inside, go up to the second
floor, an enormous nameplate and drawing, and a photo booth
conspicuous at the entrance makes the exhibition even more
attractive. The friendliness and hospitality of the staff is the first
thing that impresses me.

Only a short, you will see the first zone is “the streets of
Paris”. It goes back to 19th century Paris, the starting
point of the impressionists. The next zone is “Rebels of
the Art World” decorated with artistic styles of France in
the 19th-century -- neoclassicism and romanticism. Both
zones aren't very dramatic, but the artwork is the key
that made me kept an eye on the next zones. In zone 3,
“Café Guerbois”, a landmark used by artists to gather
and discuss their ideas. The impressive point from the
previous is the changing of zones as the organizers use
the curtains as a pass, which increases the surprise when
seeing the next zone. Then, I spent a moment reading
the biographies of the 10 artists in the next zone. The
green background, gold frame, white letters, and lighting
are extremely perfect. A significant part of this zone is
that there is a famous figure that everyone must know,
“The Starry Night” of Vincent Van Gogh is left in front of
the entrance of the next zone.

After that, a moment of surprise occurred when I
opened the black curtain - the scenery that emerged in
front of me stunned me for a moment because of my
first time looking at an art exhibition like this.

This zone is considered to be the highlight of the exhibition
because it is a multimedia exhibition providing an immersive
experience with both spectacular visuals and sound.

“Monet’s Bridge”, the first installment in this zone where you
can go up there to take pictures. In the connecting room, the
exhibit feels like a labyrinth, as the masterpiece from the
frame became a multimedia work that is projected on both the
walls and on the floor as if it surrounded me. Combined with
the classical music played throughout the event, I was in a
trance at that time. There is “La Grenouilllère” surrounded by
light projected on the model hull, and I spent most of my time
sitting watching almost all artworks here.

Stupendous artworks are the principal impression since it
allows me or everyone that is like art enthusiasts or “art
beginners” who have never visited the multimedia exhibition

before seeing classical art and learning more about it. Furthermore, digital animation paired with music
is a great way to get awestruck and feel very immersed by significant art pieces.

In my opinion, some imperfections are the distance to watch the works may be too little as if when the
exit was reached, everything ended immediately. It made me feel like an incomplete feeling like that,
and one more thing is some of the artworks displayed need explanatory texts of audio guides
providing more information about the works. As an art beginner like me, I would find it very hard to
understand some paintings without additional information. However, for those who already know more
about the works, it is still a satisfactory experience, and it is like attending a concert which was
visualized by famous artworks.

The Impressionists is an exhibition that opens up new experiences of myself. Moreover, this exhibition

has no time limit for visits, visitors are able to take the time to fully appreciate the masterpieces,

and...... YOU WILL DEFINITELY FALL IN LOVE WITH IT LIKE ME!
