I am pleased to report that our distribution business RETIREMENT AFTER
is well on its way to achieving the targets set by the 30 YEARS
board and ourselves for FY19 despite the construction
market being in decline after the first four months
of this year. We have seen some exceptional results
from both our dealer network team and branches
which only comes from hard work and dedication as
a result of living our RIPPA values.

At the beginning of the year we embarked on a
strategy to deliberately lift the number of service
technicians in the business for the simple fact that
if we offer our customers an exceptional service,
they are more likely to stay loyal to us and buy more
machines. In saying this our technician numbers
have grown by 31% in the last six months and we will
continue this trend until the end of the year when we
will re-evaluate further opportunities. In this edition
you will read about where we have sourced some of
our technicians abroad, we’re doing this as mining is
absorbing a lot of techs and we battle to attract local
residents in this area.

CAPE ECOPLOUGH SUCCEEDS

Cape EcoPlough’ was successful in installing a

DN450 pipeline for the Water Corporation in May

through an environmentally sensitive area.

This is a significant feat as pipes of this size are not
able to be ploughed in and extensive engineering and
development was required for a successful outcome.

Cape’s solution uses the industry leading and eco-

trenchless construction and pipe installation with
minimal impact on the environment through the
sensitive 1.5km of Bush Forever area as part of the

Introducing: Electronic Work Diaries

New electronic work diaries will be launched later this year,
simplifying the process for recording driver times and fatigue
sheets by switching from paper-based fatigue sheets to an
electronic system. EWDs will integrate with vehicle tracking
systems to assist drivers with keeping accurate records.
These records will also be integrated with admin and payroll
systems.

Rollout will be split into two phases:
Phase I will integrate with current systems and includes
journey management plans, live fatigue management with
alerts, and GPS telemetry. All driver activity and records
will be logged on the new system.
Phase II will include the addition of features such as driver checklists, 4G live driver notifications and
alerts, and driver availability.

Safety advantages include real time fatigue monitoring and alerts.
