LAUP's 2015 Halloween Spooktacular

Schedule of Activities for October 27th, 2015

Halloween
SPOOKTACULAR

Halloween Activities:

Spooky Set-Up

The title says it all. The spookiest set up wins! Have a little fun with
your pod/office decorating and don’t be afraid (or maybe a little…) to
express your pod’s personalities and creativities. We can enhance team
building aspects of this competition by encouraging teams of people to
work together on decorating.

Prizes: Prizes will be offered for best and most festively decorated
work area. There will be an individual contest for those who do not
work in pods and have desks/offices and there will be a group
competition for those who are decorating as a pod.

Rules: When decorating a desk please remember the following:

- Do not hang lights between cubicles or hang objects from the
ceiling.

- When using lighting, please use fluorescent rope, or shadow
and string lights.

- Please remember to turn them off at the end of each work
day.

- Be safe, be respectful, and have a blast!

Costume Parade & Potluck

No Halloween celebration at work would be complete without the
opportunity for staff to wear costumes. Encourage your co-workers to
join in on the fun and dress up! Our potluck will take place at this time,
so do prepare for delicious food and a great time. 

Contest: Multiple awards will be passed out for different categories
such as Best Costume, Funniest Costume, Most Sophisticated Costume,
Scariest Costume, Most Creative, & Costume that Took the Most Work.

Rules/Regulations: If you have music or a skit to go along with your
costume(s), all music must be turned in to Office Services (Karen,
Fabian, or Randy) by October 23rd so that technical arrangements can
be made before hand. Your skit should be kept under 3 minutes so
that everyone may have a chance to showcase their costumes. Do keep
in mind if that if you are doing group costume, the prize must be split
if won. Lastly, please avoid derogatory, provocative and/or offensive
costumes.

Potluck Side Note: Halloween Pot Luck Sign-Up sheets have been
posted on the kitchen doors on both the 6th and 8th floor.
Arrangements with your department should be made as to what you
will be bringing. Please make sure it is enough to feed approximately
10 people.

Sweet Treat Bake-Off

Rules/Description: Who can bake the tastiest treat? The item must be
baked and contain pumpkin. This can include actual pumpkin guts
(gross!) or simply canned pumpkin. Pumpkin spice is not acceptable as
the only pumpkin-like ingredient.
Contest: Judging will be based on taste, creativity, and overall
presentation. Honesty is the best policy: Please make sure that you and
only you are the sole creator of your pastry.

Clueless Candy Corn

Description: If you absolutely love candy corn, this is the game for
you. A jar filled with candy corn will be placed here at Reception. Come
and stop by to write your guess on how many pieces you think there
are. The person with the closest number gets to take home the jar!

Scary Scene-It

Description: Do you remember the
scariest movies you saw throughout
2015? 8 scenes from a number of
horror films aired this year will be here
at Reception for you to take a wild
guess!

Rules: The first person to guess all 8 films correct will win a prize!

Perilous Pumpkins

Description: Halloween’s most
recognizable symbol has always been a
pumpkin carved into a Jack-O-Lantern, This
is a take-home style game where everyone
can participate in creating their very own
work of art on a pumpkin canvas.

Rules: Each person can submit only one entry. Entries will be judged
on Most Creative, Funniest, & Scariest!
