Sappi brand making
a visual impact
25 April 2019
Want to see Sappi’s 2020Vision in action? Our latest brand video has a fresh, modern take that reflects the brand themes of innovation, sustainability, collaboration and thought leadership.
The video is suitable for internal and external audiences, and as such we encourage you to use it as part of your engagement with stakeholders.
The video supports our vision, the ongoing work to drive growth through diversified solutions, as well as Sappi’s commitments as a caring corporate citizen.
It has been uploaded to the Sappi Channel on YouTube. Please contact the IT helpdesk if you experience any issues
accessing the video.
From pedal power to Typek brand power
Sappi paper merchant, Peters Papers, entered their Paper Peddler team (Alias Team Typek) into the Maluti Double 90 – a South African team trial event that takes place in Clarens in April every year. The team proudly raced in sponsored Sappi Typek gear – promoting our office paper brand while pedalling.
“A big thank you to Sappi for making Maluti 2019 possible!” said Lyle Sadler from Peters Papers on behalf of the team.
The team in their Typek gear (front, from left): Daniele Guerra, Candice Symcox and Anton Bishop. Back: Iain Pike, Graham McKenzie, Steve de Kock, Rodger Rush, Johan van der Merwe, Fred Botha, Steve Buckley, Ziehaad Salie and Steve Ing.

Let’s talk about
the Sappi share price
Some people think the Sappi share price will only affect unitholders who choose to take up Sappi shares, rather than having them paid out in August 2019. This is not true.
The Sappi share price affects all Sefate unitholders. It doesn’t matter if you choose to take Sappi shares or cash. The average share price in August will determine what benefits are due to you.
• For MSOP and ESOP A unitholders,
the share price needs to reach the hurdle rate of R73.50 in order to get a benefit.
• For ESOP B unitholders, the higher the share price, the greater the value they will receive.
THREE things you need to know about the Sappi share price:
1. Only the average August share price matters: It doesn’t matter what the share price is today or tomorrow.
It only matters what the share price is when Sefate units vest in August 2019.
2. Hard to predict: Share prices go up and down regularly, sometimes daily, so it’s not easy to predict what the price will be when Sefate units vest.
3. South Africa’s economic growth has a big impact: Share prices are directly affected by the economic growth of a country. If the country grows, there is more work and people feel more secure and confident about the country and the company’s
future. In recent years, South Africa has experienced a sharp decline in economic growth. This means there is a chance that the Sappi share price will not be very high.
What can I do until August?
In the next few months, keep an eye on the Sappi share price. Take note of how the price changes, especially before
and after the South African elections on 08 May 2019. Big national events like elections usually have a direct impact on the share prices of the companies in that country.

Update on Bestmed/Admed
one-stop claims process
Can you recall the email and SMS campaign asking Bestmed/ Admed members to give their consent in order to benefit from a
one-stop claims partnership? Have you given permission, allowing Bestmed to submit your hospital shortfall and co-payment claims to Admed on your behalf?
If so, please note that the data automation process has not yet been completed, meaning that you are still required to submit your claims until the automation has been finalised.
However, Guardrisk (on behalf of Admed) will be lenient on late claims and will evaluate each claim case by case.
Going forward:
• Should a claim be submitted by a member and no consent has been received, Admed will request consent from that member.
• All new employees (as of 01 June 2018) give consent in their application form; so the need to give consent only applies to existing members.
• Governing body Alexander Forbes will continue to promote the consent-giving process during their contact sessions with members.
HAPPY
Congratulations to the following employees who celebrate birthdays in May 2019:
• Consenting members will be notified when the data automation process has been finalised, meaning claims will be submitted on their behalf.
