KARYA BAHASA INGGERIS HAPPY VIRUS It was the farewell day. My friends and I were talking about the good old days and laughing. Shahrin came toward us to say hi and that's when me and my friends got a glimpse of our class before and after Shahrin entered. We only had Malays and Indians only in our class. Some of us knew each other from form 1 and some came from different classes. We were united by the name science stream in form 4. We felt so awkward to communicate with each other and we didn't take any effort to get to know each other. We travelled in silence for 1 year. It was the final exam's lab test day and that's when Shahrin joined our class. He looked like a silent and collective person. However, he meddled with the boys in a few hours. We thought the class was going to be the same but that was where we all made a mistake. Shahrin is a supportive and chaotic guy who is a big extrovert. He mingled with us and became everyone's friend and that’s how we started to talk to each other in our class. Everyone's real chaotic character started to peek out. There were 5 groups in our class. The Malay boys were the energetic one while the Malay girls were the material ladies gang. As for Indians, the boys were the mysterious nerds. We Indians girls were split up to two. One team consisted of those who did nothing but still the become the most hated one while another clique was the gossip girls which included me and my friends. 5 Adil looked like the class with full of best friends. Loud and chaotic. We played uno cards. We broke some of the rules. We studied together. We partied. We joked. We laughed. We did everything cooperatively. We cheered for each other without caring about races. We tried to create as much memories as possible in that one year. Suddenly the reality hit us hard. Me and my friends were brought back to the current situation. Everyone looked so upset about the last day and as usual Shahrin was trying to cheer them up. It was time to say goodbye. That brought all of us in the send-off party into tears. Everyone bade their goodbye and went in their own path. THIS MIGHT BE THE GOODBYE FOR OUR HIGH SCHOOL LIFE BUT NOT FOR OUR FRIENDSHIPS. KARYA BAHASA INGGERIS THE HORROR UNFOLDS There will be a story behind every genuine looking smile. This is a recital of a girl who had the most cheerful and chaotic personality, but no one including her know the real personality. Besides her average sometimes satisfying exam results, she likes studying even though she doesn't manage her time to study. However, she doesn't know that she is suffering from schizophrenia. As she is very used to live alone in her house as her parents were busy with works. This is the time where she would feel like being watched and hear whispers. Although, she tried to ignore it, day by day she started to hear the whispers more often. To express her miserable feeling, she told her mother about this, but her mother brushed it off by saying she was hallucinating as she was in the peak of her stress level. She found out that she is having schizophrenia by seeing shadows and hearing whispers that no one else can see or hear. Even though many may say that she is gifted with the ability to see the dead ones, no she is extremely delusional and always feel her being suspicious about others. She soon learnt to adapt her lifestyle with her disorder even though sometimes she is told by her illusions to hurt those who disrespect their parents and teachers and those who exploit and abuse animals. The question is, if you were in her place, would you go and seek medical care, or would you simply follow your illusions in your delusional mind? SHIVALLIN A/P SELVAMI 5A HE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE English is known to be the universal language. With its extensive history and how it developed into arguably the most convenient langugage with unlimit choices of words to express just about anything. Used and taught in most countries, this language has expended and spread across the world making it the most spoken language in the world. It would be ignorant to deny the influence and practicality of this language. It’s also one of the easiest language to learn. It’s not that uncommon to find a Malaysian who can speak English fluently, take me as a proof. Albeit, a lot of Malaysian chose to neglect it using excuses like “It’s too much effort” or “It’s not that useful” which to me seems like a huge waste. Since English has been used so much by the majority of the world, people have figured out ways to express more nuanced opinions that helps stimulate the brain making it more open minded. Personally, I think it’s the best language. Understanding it unlocks a huge part of the world while stimultaneously unlocking an unlimited amount of knowledge. As a result, it gives you a wider perspectives on the world. Overall, learning English will make you a wiser person and with little effort at that. Raja Syahiran Zhafri 3KAA


KARYA BAHASA INGGERIS Teenager’s Stress All and sundry knows what stress is. Nowadays, stress is a serious health concern for teenagers. Stress is the body’s reaction to any changes that require an adjustment or response. The body reacts to these changes with physical, mental and emotional responses. Stress is a normal part of life for teenagers and can be caused by many different things. The causes of stress among the teenagers can vary. The most dominant factor are homework and assignments. This is because teenagers are spending too much time on homework. They will not meet their development needs or cultivate life skills. Worse still, they are more likely to forgo activities, stop seeing friends or families as well. Not only that, they will not participate in hobbies such as fishing or playing sports, for example, handball. Sometimes, they even missed some special occasions as well such as family trips just to complete their homework. The youngsters will also feel forced or obliged to choose homework over development of other talents. Most teenagers spend at least 2 hours to do their homework everyday. Occasionally, the time given to complete the homework is very short. Hence, some of the students even burn the midnight oil just to do all the homework that were assigned to them. They will be busy as the bees. If they do not submit the homework within the time frame given, they will be scolded or even punished by the teachers. It also requires a high level self-discipline. It was crystal clear during the Covid-19 pandemic. All students were asked to study at home as teaching and learning were carried out at home and thus, they become more stressful. In conclusion, stress is dangerous but it is actually manageable. We have to cope with it wisely. For example, we must manage our time effectively or plan timetables. We should also have balanced diet. Come hell or high water, we still have to rest. Thus, we will become healthy in chasing our dream and become successful to beat the drum in the international arena. KARYA BAHASA CINA 牵着妈妈的手 Memegang Tangan Ibu 成长的道路上总是起起伏伏,在我深刻的记忆深处,总有一个身影陪着 我,伴我走出困境,走出风雨。在我小的时候,妈妈总喜欢陪伴着我,牵 着我的手,那双手很温暖,小手掌在大手掌里总觉得很有安全感。我和妈 妈过马路时,她也是紧紧的牵着我的手,甚至有时会有些痛,但我知道, 这是妈妈对我的爱,想到这里我就不觉得痛了,反而心里有些暖,有妈妈 陪着的感觉真好。 在我上幼儿园时,妈妈就用她那温暖的手牵着我去上学。妈妈走在前面, 我就跟在后面,妈妈提着我的书包,我悠闲地走着,嘴里唱着妈妈教的儿 歌。后来上了小学,妈妈的手更加忙碌了。每天除了牵着我上下学,还要 为我洗衣做饭,帮助我检查作业。渐渐地我长大了,妈妈的手却渐渐地粗 糙了、老了。 回忆起小时候,在一个寒冷的夜晚,妈妈拿来被子,轻轻地盖在我身上, 使我觉得全身上下一阵温暖,因为妈妈的手替我赶走了寒冷,给我带来了 一股巨大的热量。在这个时候握着妈妈的手是温暖的,当我处在一个黑暗 看不见任何东西的地方而感到害怕时,妈妈会牵着我的手,陪我走出这黑 暗的地方,也会用双手拍着小调,哼起歌曲,顿时我深感轻松。妈妈的手拍 得通红了,可妈妈还是忍着疼痛,装出一副轻松的样子。这个时候,牵着 妈妈的手是充满着安全感的。 在我三年级学习书法时,妈妈会拉着我的手,一笔一划地在簿子纸上写 了一遍又一遍,手酸了也不停一下,直到我掌握了握笔技巧,并把字写得 端端正正时,她的手才停下来。这时,我觉得妈妈的手是神奇的。 就这样,妈妈牵着我的手,陪着我走过了每一个春夏秋冬。而当时那个 喜欢让妈妈陪伴着的小女孩也渐渐地长大了。有妈妈陪伴度过的每一天都 是那么幸福而温暖的。书是要一页一页地翻过,成长的路,也是要一步一 步走的,在读书的过程中,在我成长的道路上,是妈妈牵着我的手陪我长 大,往后的每一天,我也会紧牵着妈妈的手,陪着她一起度过接下来的每 一个春夏秋冬。 洪欣怡 ANG XIN YI 5C


KARYA BAHASA CINA 改变 PERUBAHAN 从小到大,我不是一个很擅长表达自己看法的人,也从来不会主动去争取。所 以,我听过爸爸妈妈最常对我说的话,便是“你知道一个不爱表达、不爱说话的 人会失去多少机会吗?”每当他们说这句话时,我脑子里总会有一句话很想对他 们说:“我也想努力改变,但是每当我有这个勇气时,一眨眼又成了泡沫。”我在 心中想了无数次,改变,真的有这么难吗? 直到前几个星期,学校指定要派两位学生去参加即席演讲比赛。阴错阳差的, 在那么多学生中,我却是偏偏被选择的其中一位。刚开始的我还有些苦恼,害 怕自己紧张的忘词或者拿到不会说的题目怎么办。回到家时,我把这件事告诉 爸爸妈妈,他们觉得这是一次不错的体验,都赞成让我去尝试、挑战自己。 练习过程中,我也曾多次因为害怕看老师和同学的眼睛,而导致一直看手里 的稿,不敢直视前方,影响了自己的表现。我也曾想过要放弃比赛,但是最后 还是坚持了下来。 眼看比赛的日子越来越近了,我的心里一天比一天还要紧张。虽然,我也参加 过无数次的比赛,但是认真想想好像还真的没有一次是有关说话的比赛。比赛 当天,我因为太紧张而忘记了老师教过的很多内容,但至少我知道已经把记得 的都说完了。不过,还是存在一些小遗憾的。我知道人生不可能那么完美,我 相信这次的遗憾也会让我在下一次有更大的进步空间。 即使最后并没有获奖,但是我还是很开心能在毕业前有一次这样的经历,也让 我有了机会去改变自己。在这期间,我也懂得了坚持、勇敢的道理。我想谢谢 那个努力想要去改变和坚持下来的自己,也谢谢在这几个星期不断鼓励我、陪 我练习的老师和同学。所以说,改变其实并不难,只要你懂得坚持不懈,就一 定可以改变。 洪欣怡 ANG XIN YI 5C


KARYA BAHASA CINA 子女应如何尽孝 CARA-CARA MEMBALAS BUDI IBU BAPA 所谓:“百善孝为先”,“孝”是中华民族的优良传统。但是现今的人却不注重 孝道,不孝敬父母。有的人甚至还把父母送到养老院。那么,我们应该如 何尽孝道呢? 首先,我们可以给予父母物质方面的享受。当我们成年后,已经有 能力赚钱了,我们可以带父母到他们想要去的餐厅用餐或带他们出国旅游。 当我们成年后,父母也老了,所以我们应该回报父母。比如说:我们可以 买张按摩椅给父母,让他们好好享受。 身为学生的我们,现在还没有足够的能力奉养父母,但我们还是能 够在日常生活中为父母尽孝道。我们要听父母的劝告和教诲,因为父母的 人生阅历比我们丰富,他们说的话有一定的道理。因此,我们不可将他们 的劝告和教诲当作耳边风,并把它们抛到九霄云外。此外,我们做任何事 前都要征询父母的意见或征求允许,以示尊重。这除了是为了避免让他们 担心,也是尽孝的一种表现。 父母每天为生活劳碌奔波,让我们能够过上好生活。我们应该多多 体谅父母并时常关心他们,主动替他们分担家务,以减轻他们的负担。除 此之外,我们也要用功求学,考取优异的成绩,让父母感到光荣和欣慰。 所谓:“身体发肤,受之父母”,如果我们生病或受伤,最担心和难过的人 就是父母了。因此,我们要爱护身体,好好照顾自己的健康。 俗语说:“树欲静而风不止,子欲养而亲不在”。因此,我们要珍惜 和父母在一起的时光,趁父母还健在时孝顺他们,报答他们的养育之恩, 以免造成终身遗憾。 李欣怡LEE SHIN YI 2A
