Step 1 : Create An Assignment

1. Go to classroom.google.com. 3
2. Click the class > Classwork.
3. At the top, click +Create > Assignment

4. Enter the Title and any Instructions.
5. (a) To add attachment , click

Step 2 : Create A Rubric

Tip : You can create up to 50 criteria per rubric and up to 10 performance levels per criterion
Note: Before you can create a rubric, the assignment must have a title.

1. On a computer, go to classroom.google.com. 1
2. Click the class classwork , create an assignment with a 2

3. Under Rubric, click +Rubric and click >Create rubric

4. To turn off scoring for the rubric, next to Use scoring, click 14
the switch to the Off position

5. (Optional) If you use scoring, next to Sort the order of 6
points by, select Descending or Ascending. 7

Note: With scoring, you can add performance levels in any order. 9
The levels automatically arrange by point value.

6. Under Criterion title, enter a criterion, such as Problem Solving,
Math Content , Mathematical Terminology. 12(b)

7. (Optional) To add a criterion description, under Criterion 13
description, enter the description

8. Under Points, enter the number of points awarded for the

Note: The rubric's total score automatically updates as you add points.

9. Under Level title, enter a title for the performance level,
such as Poor, Fair, Average , Excellent etc.

10.Under Description, enter the expectations for the level.

11. To add another performance level to the criterion, click
Add a level and repeat steps 8–9.

12. To add another criterion:
(a) To add a blank criterion, in the lower-left corner, click Add a
criterion and repeat steps 6–11.
(b) To copy a criterion, in a criterion’s box, click More
Duplicate criterion and repeat steps 6–11.

13. To rearrange criteria, in a criterion’s box, click More
Move criterion up or Move criterion down.

14. To save your rubric, in the right corner, click Save.

Step 3 : Assign The Assignment

5 1. Under For, click the and then select the class or classes you want to include.

1 2. Under Points, enter a point value for the assignment.

2 Note: When students complete an ungraded assignment, they tap Turn in or, if no files get turned
3 in, Mark as done. If a student doesn't tap Turn in or Mark as done before the due date, the assignment
is marked Missing. If there's no due date, it's marked Assigned.

3. Under Due, set a due date or time for the assignment.

Note: By default, an assignment has no due date

4. Under Topic, click the Down arrow to add a topic for this assignment.
(a) To create a topic, click Create topic and enter a topic name
(b) To select a topic in the list, click it.

5. Click to assign the assignment to student.

To post the assignment immediately
Schedule the assignment to post later
Save the draft assignment and post later

Step 4 : Students Turn In The Assignment

1. Student click Turn In and Confirm.

!! The status of the assignment changes to Turned in.

Step 5 : Grading The Assignment

1. Click the assignment > View Assignment > the 2. Click a rating level for each criterion
student’s file. In the right column, click Grading

3. Enter Private Comment & click Post 4. Click Return to send the grading result to students
