VIDEO-ONLY TRANSCRIBERS
Lecture 4
Our search revealed only one digital transcriber designed
specifically for transcribing video files. This software does not work
with audio-only files.
Given that the cost is a bit expensive, we can't actually
play around with it in this course since we are not asking you to
purchase it.
Instead, you will be downloading some free transcribers to
practice loading and working with audio and video files.
Nevertheless, we simply wanted you to be aware of this particular
transcription kit consisting of software on CD, foot pedal, and
headset.
The software only can be purchased separately and might
be a good choice for those who already have the Infinity foot pedal
and headset. But, as stated earlier, having a spare foot pedal is
always a good thing, too!
This is a software license and may be used on up to two
computers.

This was a very short lecture, obviously due to only one
product readily found that loads strictly video.
So to recap for a moment, we have now discussed the
audio-only transcribers, the 4-channel audio transcribers, this video-
only transcriber, and next will be the combination transcribers
capable of handling both audio and video files.
Since you may not know what types of files you will
encounter during your career, having access to software capable of
loading both audio and video seems to be a nice solution.
Despite all of the “pros,” unfortunately, there are also some
“cons” to most of those transcribers. Information known to us here
at Learn to Transcribe is discussed in the next lecture, which could
possibly help you make the best choice for your personal situation.
See you in the next lecture!
