Grainfield District #14 Antigone Chapter #35 Minneapolis, Minnesota Our DOP Antigone Chapter 35 of Minneapolis, MN enjoyed a very active and productive Spring season. On Mar.24th, our AHEPANs and Daughters sponsored their annual Greek Independence Day luncheon and program which featured the youth of our St.Mary’s church community. All free will donations collected were forwarded to our AHEPA family Grainfield Dist.14 Educational Foundation. Our Antigone sisters also held two successful Spanakopita/Tiropita sales in March and May. On Apr.16th, we were honored with a visit by our DOP Grand Pres. Marianthi Treppiedi. A small delegation of our sisters accompanied GP Marianthi to the Immigration History Research Center and Archives at the Univ. of MN (IHRC/A). We met with senior Archivist Daniel Necas who toured us through this state-of-the-art archival facility, and our GPres. was able to view some of our AHEPA/DOP records and historical materials preserved in these caverns, to her delight! We also organized a casual reception in the evening where GP Marianthi enjoyed meeting some of our DOP sisters and brother AHEPANs from Mpls./St.Paul. We thank GP Marianthi for taking the time to visit us in between her very busy travel schedule! In May, our brother AHEPANs and DOP sisters hosted a coffee hour and held memorial services at St. Mary’s for all departed members. Also in the month of May, our sisters organized a Bingo and Pizza party for all of our residents of our two Penelope 35 Apts. buildings. Our final AHEPA/DOP meeting in June is held at St.Mary’s, and will be followed with a Barbecue Picnic. Rocky Mountain District #17 Our Heart Luncheon in February was very successful, allowing us to donate $1,400 to our local AHA. We made 2 separate visits to AHEPA Housing, one to visit the residents in Phase I/II in February and another visit to Phase III in March. We brought food and drinks, fruit, and had raffles at both facilities. The residents always look forward to seeing us. In March, we helped AHEPA with their Glendi; a lively evening filled with great food, music, and dancing. Our Greek Independence Day Celebration was March 24. Our Chaper Project was a huge success. We collected items needed for Joy Junction, a local organization that helps the homeless and less fortunate. Another project we participated in was the “Water By Women” Ministry donating 20 crocheted socks used to protect water filters given out by the ministry. These socks are considered “pray and crochet” to the women who serve in this ministry. Many of our Sisters, along with Philoptochos, helped decorate our church for Pascha. We also donated monies for flowers during Holy Week. 2023-2024 was a wonderful year for our Chapter, and we look forward to 2024-2025. El Camino Real District #20 Philia Chapter #380 North San Diego, California Philia 380 in northern San Diego County was very busy the first half of the year. They created a periptero or a kiosk filled with a variety of Greek specialty items to be sold during the coffee hour after liturgy. It has been met with great success and many sales. In March they sponsored the first ever Tsiknopempti or smoky Thursday in preparation for the coming Lenten period. The variety of grilled meats started with an appetizer plate of keftedes and loukaniko. Then a plate of grilled pork ribs, grilled beef ribs, chicken, prime rib, potatoes and corn along with a salad and bread were served. This was followed by a spit roasted lamb, pasta and bougatsa. It was truly a never to be forgotten event. They also sold tsoureki and sponsored a dove memorial service for the community. In May four new members were initiated. They are also sponsoring an evening of service in July during the summer break at Feeding San Diego. It is a local food bank for the city and county of San Diego. They will reconvene in the fall. Golden Gate District #21 ADVENTURE ON MAY 25, 2024 Athena Hallock DT and I were on our way down I-80 west to Dixon CA. Map quest said that we were to get off at Midway Road. After a while, we arrived at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, no words can describe this awesome cemetery. Rows and rows of white headstones all facing the road. Mausoleums in the distance. Beautiful water areas with fountains of water rising toward the blue sky. After parking, we took a path lined with concrete benches where important events were etched on the bench backs, such as December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor Day. After the Memorial Day Program, we headed to Section 2 and took flags which were bundled together in groups of 10 flags. Screw drivers were used to dig holes to place the flags. We were told to say the names of each deceased veteran as we put a flag in front of their headstone. (Spouses are also buried there, their names are written on the back of the facing headstone). Also, we were told that a penny is placed on the headstone means you visited the veteran, a nickel you knew the veteran in boot camp, a dime you served with the veteran is some capacity, and a quarter you were there when the veteran died. We felt a sense of pride and job well done! Athena and I placed over 100 flags that day! Athena Hallock is an Army veteran and our Vice-President Vicki Meer’s mother is buried in this cemetery. All in all, we felt proud of those men and women who joined the Arm Services to protect our democracy! - By Diane Petersen PGS, President Artemis Chapter #5 Fresno, California 59 ΘΠ

In addition, acknowledgement of Art winners, staff, and judges, with the presentation of Art Awards, took place. Daughters of Penelope presented the Second Annual Art Contest Awards and participation certificates to the youth and St. Basil's Sunday School Staff. Students and youth from St. Basil's congregation created religious art, inspired by the theme, “What are God’s promises after the rainbow?” Art was completed in Sunday School and at home, with work being reproduced in greeting cards this year. The art contest is another way in which to keep youth connected with the teachings of the Orthodox Chrisitan Faith. Certificates and awards were presented by Kathleen Farros-Hoeppner, Kathy Leles, and Anastasia Cook-with support from Father Pete and Father Gabriel, to participating Sunday School students and staff. All participating students were presented with certificates and an art/craft item. First, Second, Third, Honorable Mention place winners received certificates and art-related prizes. Beaver District #23 Greetings from Beaver District 23 where we have had a productive and successful 2023/24 year. We kicked off the new year by embracing movement with our DOP Wellness Dancercise on zoom. Breaking a sweat together, we reaffirmed our commitment to physical health and shared laughter amidst the beats. In February the AHEPA Family of Montreal hosted their annual Valentine’s Ball, where we were joined by Grand President Marianthi and other past and present Grand and Supreme Lodge members and oh what a memorable night we had! In honor of International Women’s Day, we convened for a Women’s Heart Health Webinar on March 7th, in collaboration with the Canadian Women’s Heart Health Alliance, Ottawa. Invaluable insights were shared with us, shedding light on the alarming reality that heart disease remains the leading cause of death in women, surpassing all cancers combined. I urge you to discuss the importance of recognizing the signs and taking charge of your heart health. In May we celebrated our 89th AHEPA Family District 23 Convention in our capital city of Ottawa. The weekend was filled with camaraderie, productivity, and celebration. A special commendation goes out to our youth for their remarkable participation, truly embodying the spirit of AHEPA, DOP, MOA and SOP. Some outstanding achievements: • Congratulations to Sister Bessie Giovanopoulos from Ottawa, D23 Penelope of the year. • Kudos to the Ottawa chapter for being named District 23 Chapter of the Year. • Congratulations to our two AHEPA FAMILY District 23 scholarship recipients, Athena Verdone (Montreal) and Panayiotis Michalos (Halifax). In keeping with The Power of We… in commUNITY, we have donated food and clothing to associations helping seniors and shelters helping the less fortunate. We also collected used dental hygiene items and sent them to be recycled, keeping them out of landfills. Royal Canadian District #24 Baking Diples for the Gala in Regina I am thrilled to share the incredible achievements and charitable endeavors of the District 24 chapters. Erato Chapter in Calgary hosted a spectacular 'Casino Royale' event in March, raising an impressive $20,000 for Making Changes, a local charity devoted to empowering women and teen girls during life transitions. Established on September 10, 1981, the Daughters of Penelope Hesperus #359 began with 25 Greek-American women in Greece. Over the past 43 years, our chapter has earned recognition from the Greek government as a philanthropic organization. United and strong, we tirelessly strive to improve the lives of the less fortunate, supporting numerous organizations with the unwavering backing of our members and friends. Our initiatives for 2023 were impactful. Funds from our December lottery enabled us to provide duvet covers for flood victims in Palama Karditsa, delivered to Σπίτι της Αγάπης. Sister Ioanna Breanou collaborated with Pindos Chickens to make a Christmas donation to St. Spyridonas Church's food bank in Pagrati. Additionally, we participated in an AWOG event in Kolonaki, crafting heart-shaped pillows for breast cancer survivors, represented by Sister Eva Menegou. President Anna Goritsa was honored on behalf of our chapter by President Chris Mpakouros and Chapter AHEPA HJ1 for our enduring partnership spanning over 43 years. Together, we've worked tirelessly in philanthropy, side by side, making a meaningful impact and embodying community and compassion. Our true reward lies in the positive change we've brought. As we continue our journey, let's remain dedicated to serving and making the world better for all. Thank you, President Chris Mpakouros and AHEPA HJ1, for your unwavering support and inspiration. Celebrating 120 Years of the American Farm School's Service in Greece, the Daughters of Penelope Hesperus #359 proudly support the AFS mission through donations and hands-on initiatives like tree planting and workshops. Sister Ioanna Breanou and President Anna Goritsa represented our chapter at this event, and we thank the American Farm School for the invitation. Here's to many more years of success! Greetings from Serres, Greece. In October 2023, we sent food products and other basic necessities to the victims of the devastating floods in Thessaly. In December, our Christmas bazaar was successful and proceeds were used to buy supermarket gift cards that were offered to families in need. We also donated a steam generator iron to the Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Serres. In January 2024, our vasilopita cutting event was well attended by local public officials, members of philanthropic organizations and others who support us. In February, we sorted various books that were given to us by a generous friend and offered them to the 2nd Junior High School of Serres to enrich their library. In April, we attended the DOP Conference in Ioannina and had the pleasure of meeting dynamic sisters. At Easter, food was contributed to the social grocery store that is run by the church. In May, 40 T-shirt and shorts sets were donated to the individuals that live at the Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities in Sidirokastro, Serres. We are planning new activities with great zeal and enthusiasm. Dear Sisters, It is an Honor and Pleasure to be able to address you. We are grateful to be able to participate in the activities of our Order given its glorious past. We Kallityches are a new chapter but we are able and willing to develop activities worthy of the name Daughters of Penelope! We have already participated in our District Convention and are preparing to help our AHEPAn Brothers in their District Convention by preparing venues for their wives and any other Sisters who desire to participate. Also because our Secretary is certified teacher of CPR we are scheduling a seminar in which all participants will receive certification in the method. All Sisters and Brothers are invited to participate. We will inform you of the dates in this and future events. We are open to collaboration with all other chapters and would like to know of your activities so we can support you. Let's remember that we are a grass roots Organization and that our strength lies in our Unity. Yours sincerely, Constantia Kotsani - Varadini Kallityches Chapter #456 Panorama Thessaloniki , Greece 75 ΘΠ Greece - District #25

Cyprus - District #27 This has been an amazing year! Since our initiation in April 2023, we have grown from 10 to 27 members. Our sisters are vibrant, and committed, exemplifying what the “We are the Power of WE … in community” can achieve! We’ve been actively involved in philanthropic activities. Our first effort was the Run Idalion event with proceeds benefiting the Agios Dimitrianos Elderly Home. In December, we participated in the Nicosia Municipality’s Christmas events. We sold out all 500 small fir trees on the first day! The funds were donated to the Nicosia Children's Shelter Association to help build a playground for the shelter’s children. Additionally, we hosted a Carnival Party to raise more money for the playground project. During Easter, we fundraised and donated to the “Wagon of Love” organization providing needy families with food and essentials during the holy celebrations. We supported the photo exhibition “ΑνθίΖΩ με την ΑΚΟΣ,” a cancer awareness lecture, and book sales. All proceeds went to the House of Love of the Philoptochos Brotherhood of Agion Omologiton, which provides essential services to the elderly. Lastly, we supported the Red Cross through clothing donations and fundraising, culminating with a beautiful dinner and music event supported by our AHEPA Cyprus brothers. We eagerly await welcoming you to the Supreme Convention in Cyprus in July! Amazons of Cyprus Chapter #453 Nicosia, Cyprus 76 ΘΠ

Europe - District #28 "Daughters of Penelope: A Growing Community in Europe" It is an honor as part of the Daughters of Penelope to see our community flourish in Europe. Our roots, deeply anchored in the ideals of Hellenism, have connected us across borders and enabled us to write new chapters of our history in cities such as Stuttgart, Vienna, and Lyon (2023-2024). The Eurynome Chapter in Stuttgart, Pallas Athena in Vienna and Atalanti in Lyon are shining examples of our growing presence in Europe. The cooperation within our sisterhood and especially in Europe with London, Paris, Brussels and Bad Kissingen, is a shining example of how common values and goals can bring people together. Each new chapter we establish is a testament to our determination to promote Greek culture while embracing the diversity of Europe. Our upcoming mid-year conference, which will take place in Bad Kissingen, Germany from June 21-23 as part of the Kissinger Sommer, is a perfect example of our unity and spirit. Bad Kissingen, as part of the World Heritage Site, provides the ideal setting to celebrate our values and our community. It is a place that breathes history and culture and where our conference is in the best of hands. Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our bonds and continue to unfold our vision for the Daughters of Penelope in Europe. I thank each and every one of you for your tireless efforts and dedication. Together we will continue to inspire, support and make a difference. I send you my warmest regards in joyful anticipation of our future together. Europe - District #28 Daughters of Penelope Paris extends their warm wishes for a pleasant summer season. Our Chapter made a donation to the association “À Chacun Son Everest” in Chamonix, France. A well-known French Association with a history of 30 years in offering children and women support in an idyllic location during the convalescence phase from cancer. Sisters Niki Kalogera, Katerina Delikoura, Katerina Samara-Broussard, Anastasia Karkani and Alexandra Chryssostalis journeyed to Chamonix to present the donation, which sponsored a total of 4 courses for cancer remission victims, namely courses for 2 women and for 2 children. It was an extraordinary experience sharing special moments with the recipients of this donation as well as the entire team in charge of “À Chacun Son Everest”, including Christine Janin, the co-founder and the soul of this center! Australia - District #29 Greetings and best wishes to Sisters around the world from your Sisters of Ariadne 435 in Melbourne, Australia. After a couple of years of enforced lock downs due to COVID-19, last year we were finally able to get back to our community work. In August we donated much needed material aid to 300 Blankets, a Melbourne based charity dedicated to supporting people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Our Annual Lunch in November was also held in support of 300 Blankets. A guest speaker from 300 Blankets spoke on the issues of homelessness across Melbourne, particularly in respect to women, who are increasing in numbers living on the streets of our City. We raised $3,000 to help the organisation continue its important work. During Christmas Week, we donated food to the Oakleigh Greek Orthodox Church food drive, to support families in need over the Christmas and New Year period. We donated in the memory of our dear Sister, Sandra Nezeritis, who passed away in 2020. Sandra had a strong commitment to supporting all people and started our annual food donations. We will continue to donate in her memory. DOP Foundation, Inc. The DOP Foundation Inc Book Club has had a great year! Since the last Supreme Convention in Las Vegas where we held a successful book exchange, we have continued promoting the love of reading. Each month a new flyer was released with three book recommendations. The topics and genres were varied but there was always one book either by a Greek author or the story related to Greece. The Book Club is proud to present the “Meet the Author” Zoom events. In April, Henriette Lazaridis, author of Last Days in Plaka, was interviewed by Eleni N. Gage, author of North of Ithaka. In June, Anastasia Rubis talked about her debut novel Oriana. Sisters, please keep checking our Facebook page for our flyers and announcements: www.facebook.com/DaughtersOfPenelopeFoundationInc We will be back after the summer break with more books and more Zoom events.
