TASK 3 WRITING PORTFOLIO

DRAFT 1

PARAGRAPH 1 (INTRODUCTION)

Global pandemic is a situation where the world is facing a disease outbreak that spreads
all over the countries and or continents. The pandemic is also known as the situation where it
affects more lives and the people. Since the last two years, the world is facing a virus outbreak or
a disease that is famously known as Coronavirus disease or COVID-19. This virus was first
detected in Wuhan City, China and since then, the virus has been spreading all over the countries.
Coronavirus affects people in many ways. Some people are said to be facing or developing mild
to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization (Sarda et al., 2020). The virus outbreak is
surely breaking everyone’s lives. It not only takes people’s lives, but it also kills their dreams and
hopes to survive another day. People had to grieve with this situation and had to deal with the
loss of their family members, loved ones and colleagues. Those who are infected are battling with
the disease with some common symptoms like fever, cough, and sore throat. Of course, they are
tested as the COVID-19 fighters. But overall, it affected the society and economy of each country
including Malaysia as well.

PARAGRAPH 2

Since the world is slowly recovering, especially Malaysia that has just entered the endemic
phase that started 1 April 2022, recovering plans are a must for the country to gain back its
strengths and qualities. For sure, this must begin with guiding policy makers. Policy makers is
what we called for someone who makes policies especially in a government. In the government
section, the policy makers should be the Prime Minister and his advisor for sure. The policy
makers can create policies and rules for the sake of the countries and the people as one of the
strategies to recover slowly after the global pandemic. One of the policies that can be created is
to keep wearing mask for everyone. According to Mitze et al. (2020), face masks has been
introduced as the particular measure to mitigate the spread of the COVID19. By wearing face
mask, it can help to reduce the risk and spreading of COVID-19 virus transmission from each
other. The next policy that can be made is to for the people to take care of social distancing from
one another as this precaution can help us to flatten the curve of COVID 19 cases. Another policy
that can be made is to continue the quarantine for those who travelled overseas and come back
to their countries and travel restrictions for the states that has higher COVID cases. Although the
world is slowly recovering, and these policies do not seem necessary, but they can be so much
helpful to stop spreading the virus even more.

PARAGRAPH 3
The next strategy that can be taken is by having the administrative controls and safe work
practices. Administrative controls are the training or procedure that can be taken to lessen the
threat of a hazard to an individual. In this case, the working sector is included, and this sector
should be paid more attention as the hazard which is COVID-19 is harming and affecting
everyone’s health. Meanwhile, safe work practices are referring to the procedure of performing
specific task and this thing requires the workers to work in a safer way. Administrative controls
are important, and it is essentially aim at ensuring that the workflow is much more effective and
safer for the workers (Prakash & Digumarthi, 2021). The higher organisation of the workplace
should increase the cleaning frequency of disinfection at the work site as one the administrative
controls and safe work practices. Since COVID-19 is a threatening virus, disinfection like chemical
disinfectants is essential to kill the germs on surfaces and objects by using the alcohol solutions.
The higher organisation at the workplace should encourage their workers to practice social
distancing with one another and wearing face covering masks. By practicing social distancing and
wearing face covering, the workers can protect themselves and help to protect others as well from
spreading the virus. The number of workers should be limited to a particular time and particular
shifts only. The workers should be changed and work according to particular shift so they can
avoid working for too long because this will increase the chances of getting infected with the
COVID-19 virus.

PARAGRAPH 4

Other than that, most countries in the world are currently suffering from the effects of falling oil
prices and currencies made out of a pandemic therefore society can help sustain the country's
economic growth by supporting and buying locally made goods. The third social reason for buying
local is that it provides support for the local community (Ferguson & Thompson, 2020). We will be
able to reduce the flow of money abroad and at the same time stimulate the development of local
industries. As a developing country with a hardworking society, our economy is moving towards
development plus our expertise in manufacturing technology is already increasing. Many products
produced today not only have comparable quality but some are better than products imported
from abroad. In addition, if the products produced are high quality, of course, many people will
prioritize their national goods first and even they can save the costs of shipping charges by the
foreign country. Ultimately, this will create an innovative and ingenious society and state the
production of new goods as well as create a society that cooperates in economic and self-
development. It also makes us an example for the world and belongs in creative and developed
countries such as Japan and China.

PARAGRAPH 5

In addition, employers and entrepreneurs play an important role in expanding the field of
employment and business. How do the people play a role as individuals who provide employment
opportunities to fellow citizens? People who are already skilled or have a successful business
should further expand their business and take on more citizens to work with. In difficult times like
this, we should prioritize our own society and not take people from foreign countries to work with
us because of course it will give us great benefits and advantages to living in our country. As we
can see, more of our society is unemployed and foreigners are able to afford to do business in
stores. The joblessness rate will increase as this pandemic advances and the unequivocal chain
will additionally annoyed (Lai et al., 2021). Automatically it can lower the unemployment rate and
increase the inflation rate of the country. Improve the skills of employees and graduates on a
regular basis as the community will gain experience of working, not just sit at home waiting for an
interview call that has been entirely canceled since the outbreak of Covid-19 and also learns new
skills, especially in the field of technology which is very wide according to the circulation.

PARAGRAPH 6

An effective and efficient emergency response can reduce avoidable mortality and morbidity and
reduce the types of economic and social impacts (Qiu et al., 2017). The point is why does society
play an important role during this post-pandemic recovery situation? It is because society is the
backbone of the country’s government. The cooperation of the community in every case has a
huge impact not only on progress but also on their own development. Once the community
cooperates and plays their role as a community, not only expecting help or assistance from the
government alone, of course, every problem will be solved not only the problem of government
funds but also the financial problems of their lives will also be reduced. Whenever our community
abides by every rule such as wearing face masks and guarding the prisons of each other, the
long-running pandemic will be able to be well controlled. As we know, many people spend their
savings to cover the cost of living when hit by Covid-19, then when the community can stop the
epidemic, then the money can be used best as business capital or savings and stock investment.

‘Strategies for the World to Recover Slowly after the Global Pandemic’
