Sixteen games lost was the tally from this year's basketball

Blankenship was lost to the squad before the season opened when
he was stricken with appendicitis.
In the first game the Packers came out on the short end of a
31 to 13 score with Tee Jay. In the second game Technical beat
the Packers 24 to 9. The Fremont game was the most thrilling of
the season and South came nearest winning, 14 to 13. The Central
Eagles defeated the Packers 20 to 10; Benson won 24 to 12; the
Norsemen won 26 to 13; and the Lynx won 18 to 19.

WRESTLING
Three firsts, five seconds, one third, one fourth, and a tie for third
in the city meet enabled the South High grnpplers to annex the wrestling
(I; trophy for the first time in history. South
~,,, scored 38 and one-half points and the nearest
rival, Tech, won 25 and one-half points in the
city final s.
New champions at South are: Arnold
Arnett in the 95 lb. class, Joseph Miller 125 lb.
class, and Grant Fischer 135 lb.
Coach Paul Davis issued his call for wres-
tlers and forty-eight responded.
South beat North in the first wrestling match of the season by an 18
to 9 score. The second match was a thriller to watch and ended in a 13 to
13 tie with Central. The third match was a hard one to take and South took
it on the chin dropping the match to Tech by a 13 to 10. In the fourth
meet South beat Creighton Prep by a 30 to 0 score, the first time since
wrestling was organized in the city High Schools was a team defeated by
such a decisive margin. In the second round South started off with a 21 to
6 win over the Vickings of North.
Then the Eagles o Centra1 were the guests of South and were deci-
sively defeated by the score of 30 to 0-the second time the Packers had
shut out their opponents in two weeks. Tech came down to the Packer
gym and were on the short end of a 16 to 13 score.
