during the 1960-61 school term. The major social event
of the year for this organization is its Latin banquet,
which club members attend in costume. February 9 was

The Future Farmers' Club has twelve a ims and purposes. The
members try to develop competent, progressive, rural, and agri-
cultural leadership. T hey create and nurture a love of country
life. They encourage members in the development of individual
farming programs and establishment in farming. They develop
character, train for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism. They
encourage thrift and improvement in scholarship. They provide
and encourage the development of organized rural recreational
activities. These are the thing s for w hich the Future Farm e rs of
America are constantly striving.

ments. They received their first trophy when they placed second
in the Girls' Missouri Valley debates. They also placed fourth
in the Beginners' Tournament.

in original oratory.

founded to encourage the promotion of photography and to
provide a better understanding of its use for pleasure, business,
and art. Its members took photographs at several school activ-
ities and co-sponsored with Sales Club a "Good Grooming"
dance at which trophies were awarded to the best groomed
students at South.
