As the 1996-'97 school year ends, we will be turning
the pages of this book to remember our friends, teachers,
dances, and games.

The pictures in this book show that "sometimes words
are not enough."

As the last locker is shut and the last test is taken,
everyone we knew at South will become a valuable part
of our lives, which just like our memories, will last
fo rever.

We look ahead now to all the possibilities the future
holds and look back at all that South High has given us .

it's very nice to have academics

recognized, too."

track

The 1997 South High track
team jumped off to a great start.
The team showed that hard work
and dedication pays off.

Coach Kim Barents said,
"These are great kids with a lot of
talent and desire."

Talent is a good word to
describt the team. Junior Liz
Noble, for example, set a new
school record in the hurdles. "It
was nothing I planned for," Liz said,
"I just went out and gave it my all.

The 4x1 relay team of
Genese Curtis, Julie Kearny, Liz
Noble, and Bree Ross have placed
first and sixth in meets.

Seniors David Dickey,
Kenny Staskiewicz, Mark
Niedzwiecki, and Willie Ziemba
made up the weight-man relay
team, which placed second at the
South High Invitational.
