On behalf of Blueline, I want to thank you and the leadership of Cypress United Methodist Church for allowing us to partner with you to
explore "intentional" options to best configure your campus to meet your vision and mission. We greatly enjoyed our time on site and
offer the following as our report and suggestions.

General Observations
Many if not most of these are items you all are keenly aware of. However, as an outsider / guest, it is observations that need to be
acknowledged as you continue to attract more first-time guests as well as to serve the current congregation.

1. Program of Needs is limited to the following:
a) New Open-Air Pavilion
b) New Outdoor Restroom / Storage Addition
c) Security Fence

2. The available site identified for the Pavilion project is a “green-field” site located on west of the existing Worship Center and is
bordered by the Worship Center Building to the west, and on the east by Cypress Corner Road and is bordered on the north and
south by parking lots.

3. The Pavilion floor will include a (single) stiped (painted) high school basketball court a as well as a (single) volleyball court.
It is worth noting, based on industry standards 10’ clear is required around the boundary lines of the volleyball court. Given the
building setback and the adjacency of the existing building, there is clearly not enough width ( in the east west direction) on-site to
accommodate an additional 20’ (10’ each side). As a result, only one (1) volleyball court can be accommodated in the north south
direction (which is the same direction as the basketball court).

4. The Pavilion is situated on a prime location on campus and the local Cypress community.
5. Youth have a significant role in the life of Cypress United Methodist Church
6. “Common space” in the Cypress community is lacking and needs to be addressed to provide additional opportunities for

community fellowship, socialization, and other activities.

Summary & Thank You
On behalf of our team, we want to thank you for the opportunity to partner with Cypress United Methodist Church in this initial process
of determining the best physical facility options for the church. We believe the overall Plan presented herewith is the best utilization of
the site. Obtaining that vision will take additional planning, patience, and phasing.
As Cypress United Methodist Church ponders and prays about what is next, there are some interim steps that could be taken:
1. At some point in the future, there is going to need to be geotechnical testing done on the site in the form of soil boring. These

should be done in locations of the future buildings. This will provide needed soil bearing capacities for planning and design.
Sincerely,
Jack Duran
Vice President
