CHILD DEVELOPMENT

A Guidance for Parents and Teachers

What is child development?

Child development can be defined as biological, emotional,

between birth and the end of adolescence and through
adulthood as the individual progresses dependency to
increasing autonomy

Why Should we know about it?

Many scholars and psychologists believe that early child
development is important because it can affect their
personality. For example, Sigmund Freud (1953) found that
unfavoured childhood experience leads to maladjustment.
This statement also can be supported by Erik Erickson that
says "...childhood is the scene of man's upbringing as man,
the place where our particular virtues and vice slowly but
clearly develop and make themselves felt"

The important learning child development:

We as an adult can understand well what they're thinking.
