เรามารู้จกั ความหมายและรูปแบบของ
ประโยค Question Tags กนั เถอะ

Question Tag หรือ Tag question เป็นประโยคคาถามอกี รูปแบบหน่ึงในภาษาองั กฤษ ซ่ึงทาให้
ประโยคบอกเล่าหรือประโยคปฏเิ สธเป็นประโยคคาถาม โดยการเติมส่วนท่ีเป็นคาถามไวท้ ี่ทา้ ยประโยค ซ่ึง
ประกอบดว้ ย 2 ส่วนคือ ส่วนแรกเป็นส่วนที่เป็นขอ้ ความหรือประโยคหลกั (statement) โดยมที ้งั รูปบอกเลา่
(affirmative) และรูปปฏเิ สธ (negative) และส่วนที่สองคือ question tag ซ่ึงเป็นรูปคาถามยอ่ ๆ (คากริยาช่วย +
คาสรรพนาม) ตวั อยา่ งเช่น

Bill will go home , won’t he ?
This soup isn’t too hot , is it ?

ส่วนที่ 1 จะเป็นประโยคบอกเลา่ หรือประโยคปฏเิ สธท่ีใหข้ อ้ มลู แก่ผถู้ กู ถาม

จะเป็นคาถามย้าใหแ้ น่ใจวา่ ประโยคในส่วนท่ี 1 เป็นความจริงหรือไม่ ซ่ึงส่วนน้ีกค็ ือ

หลกั การสร้าง Question Tags

1. ใส่เคร่ืองหมาย comma ( , ) คน่ั ระหวา่ งประโยคหลกั กบั question tag
2. ถา้ ประโยคหลกั เป็ นประโยคบอกเลา่ จะใช้ tag เป็นรูปปฏิเสธ ตวั อยา่ งเชน่

You have breakfast , don’t you ?
This coffee is hot , isn’t it ?
Sam and Kate went swimming , didn’t they ?
My maid cleans all the cups , doesn’t she ?
แตถ่ า้ ในประโยคหลกั มีคากริยาแทเ้ ป็นคากริยาหลกั ในประโยค ให้ใช้ Verb to do เขา้ มาชว่ ย
โดยใชก้ บั ประธานและ tense ในประโยคน้นั ๆ เช่น
The students learn English , don’t they ?
Nan opens the door , doesn’t ?
He came on time , didn’t he ?

หมายเหตุ

ถา้ ในประโยคหลกั เป็น “I am” จะใช้ tag เป็น aren’t I เสมอ เช่น
I am your niece , aren’t I ?
I am thin , aren’t I ?

verb to have ถา้ เป็นคากริยาแท้ เมือ่ ใชค้ ู่กบั คาอน่ื ๆ เป็นสานวนต่างๆ เช่น have dinner (รับประทานอาหาร
ค่า) , have a bath (อาบน้า) , have a headache (ปวดศรีษะ) , have some water (ด่ืมน้า) เป็นตน้ ใหใ้ ช้ verb
to do เขา้ มาช่วยในส่วน tag โดยตอ้ งใชใ้ หส้ อดคลอ้ งกบั ประธานและ tense ในประโยคน้นั ๆ เช่น

She has her dinner , doesn’t she ?
Tommy had a headache , didn’t he ?

3. ถา้ ประโยคหลกั เป็นประโยคปฏเิ สธ จะใช้ tag เป็นรูปบอกเล่า เช่น
She doesn’t wear a red skirt , does she ?
Tom isn’t tall , is he ?
I am not your boss , am I ?
They don’t go to work late , do they ?

4. ถา้ ประโยคหลกั มคี ากริยาชว่ ยเป็น verb to be , verb to have , หรือคากริยาช่วยตวั อืน่ ๆ เช่น will , can ,

5. ถา้ ในประโยคหลกั เป็นประโยคคาสงั่ หรือประโยคขอร้อง จะใช้ tag เพยี งรูปเดียวคือ will you เช่น
Open the window , will you ?
Don’t be lazy , will you ?

6. ถา้ ในประโยคหลกั เป็นประโยคชกั ชวนท่ีข้ึนตน้ ดว้ ย Let’s (มาจากคาเตม็ วา่ Let us) จะใช้ tag เพยี ง
รูปเดียวคือ shall we เช่น
Let’s go for a walk , shall we ?
Let’s eat out , shall we ?

หมายเหตุ ถา้ ในประโยคหลกั ท่ีข้นึ ตน้ ดว้ ย Let me.., him…หรือ Let + object ใหใ้ ช้

ถ้าส่วนข้างหน้าเป็ นบอกเล่า ให้ตอบ “Yes”
ถ้าส่วนข้างหน้าเป็ นปฏเิ สธให้ตอบ “No”

หลักการตอบคาถามของ Question Tag

สาหรับการตอบคาถามในประโยค Question Tag จะมีหลกั การตอบเช่นเดยี วกบั Yes / No Question

ซ่ึงสามารถตอบได้ 2 กรณี คือตอบรับว่า “ใช่” คือ “Yes” และตอบปฏเิ สธวา่ “ไม่ใช่” คือ “No”

โดยมลี กั ษณะการตอบดงั น้ี

1. ถา้ ประโยคหลกั เป็นประโยคบอกเลา่ และในส่วน tag ท่ีตามหลงั มาเป็นประโยคปฏเิ สธ แสดงวา่

ผถู้ ามตอ้ งการใหผ้ ตู้ อบ ตอบรับวา่ “Yes” เช่น

We were late , weren’t we ? Yes , we were.

That man is a doctor , isn’t he ? Yes , he is.

2. ถา้ ในประโยคหลกั เป็นปฏิเสธ และในส่วน tag ที่ตามหลงั มาเป็นประโยคบอกเลา่ แสดงวา่ ผถู้ าม

ตอ้ งการใหผ้ ตู้ อบ ตอบปฏิเสธว่า “No” เช่น

They aren’t leaving , are they ? No , they aren’t.

You don’t tell lies , do you ? No , I don’t.
