VISION CHURCH OF ATLANTA ADDS PSYCHIC MEDIUM

TO MINISTERIAL STAFF

BY: LEONARDO BLAIR | MAY 24, 2019

The Christian Post reached out to The Vision
Church for comment on the appointment Thursday
but no one was immediately available.

In an interview with Great Day Louisiana earlier this
year, Foster discussed how her gift allows her to
communicate with the dead.

“A psychic medium, what I try to explain to people
is, psychic is a very umbrella term. I believe to some
degree we all have some type of psychic intuition. A
medium falls under that umbrella. Being a medium
allows me to communicate with our loved ones
who are departed. So I tell people all mediums are
psychic but all psychics are not medium,” she said.

HOW WITCHCRAFT IN THESE LAST DAYS

THREATENS OUR SALVATION

1. Note: Modern Spiritualism claims to have intercourse, or communion, with the spirits of the dead. In this it is identical with ancient
witchcraft, which was likewise an intercourse, or communion, with the dead. That witchcraft was a real thing, and not simply a
superstition, is evident from the fact that it was prohibited by the Lord under the penalty of death.
2. What do the following Old Testament scriptures teach? Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 19:31; Deuteronomy 18:9-13; 2 Chronicles 33:6
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
3. Note: Deuteronomy 18:9-13 and 2 Chronicles 33:6 state that a wizard, a witch and a person with a familiar spirit are one and the
same and are all abominable in God’s sight.
4. Note: A wizard, a witch, or any person with a familiar spirit is one who claims to communicate with the dead. 1 Samuel 28:3,7,11,14.
(Read page two, the news report. Lakara Foster states that she and her father can communicate with the dead).
5. What does the Bible say is the fate of a person with a familiar spirit, if he or she refuses to repent? Leviticus 20:27
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
6. What do the following New Testament scriptures teach regarding witchcraft and sorcery? Galatians 5:19-21; Acts 8:8-11,18-24;
Revelation 21:7,8; Revelation 22:14,15
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
7. Note: Babylon and her daughters are filled with sorcery and witchcraft. Revelation 17:2-6; Revelation 18:21,23. Consider that a
woman represents a church. Read Jeremiah 6:2; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 5:25. The context of each scripture will determine if the
woman represents a pure church or a corrupt church.
8. Note: These scriptures are sufficient to show that dealing with familiar spirits, otherwise called sorcery, or witchcraft,
is a sin of fearful magnitude in the sight of God. Nor can it be said that this is an Old Testament sin, of which the New
Testament knows nothing. For Paul, Luke, and John, or rather the Spirit of God speaking through them, class this with the vilest of
sins; and exclude those who are guilty of it from any part in the kingdom of God.
9. Who has the Lord sent to minister unto us? Hebrews 1:14
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
10. However, what instruction and warning does the Bible give? Ephesians 6:10-12
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
11. Note: The connection of the visible with the invisible world, the ministration of angels of God, and the agency of
evil spirits, are plainly revealed in the Scriptures, and inseparably interwoven with human history. There is a growing
tendency to disbelief in the existence of evil spirits, while the holy angels that “minister for them who shall be heirs of
salvation” (Hebrews 1:14) are regarded by many as spirits of the dead. But the Scriptures not only teach the existence of angels, both
good and evil, but present unquestionable proof that these are not disembodied spirits of dead men.
{The Great Controversy page 511}
3

12. Note: The Bible teaches that both the holy angels and the evil angels minister to mankind.
13. Note: Those possessed with devils are usually represented as being in a condition of great suffering; yet there were exceptions to
this rule. For the sake of obtaining supernatural power, some welcomed the satanic influence. These of course had no conflict with
the demons. Of this class were those who possessed the spirit of divination,--Simon Magus, Elymas the sorcerer, and the damsel who
followed Paul and Silas at Philippi. {The Great Controversy page 516}. Read Acts 8:8-24; Acts 13:6-12; Acts 16:16-21.
14. Why should we study and comprehend what the Bible teaches about angels, death, and the dead? 2 Corinthians 2:11
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
15. What warning is given for these last days? Revelation 12:12; Revelation 16:13,14
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
16. What does the Bible teach about death and the dead? Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
17. Note: Genesis 2:7 states that God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and
man became a living soul. Therefore, dust (the body) and breath comprise a living soul. At death, when the breath leaves the body,
there is no living soul; there is no consciousness in death. The word soul means a living person. Read Acts 27:37; 1 Peter 3:20
(Genesis 7:13) and Ezekiel 18:20.
18. Note: At the point of death, the body returns to the earth and the spirit returns to God. Read Ecclesiastes 12:7. The spirit that
returns to God at the moment of death is not alive separate from the body.
19. What is the spirit that returns to God? Job 27:3; Job 33:4; Job 34:14,15
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
20. What will Jesus do when He comes with the spirit that returned to him at the point of death? Genesis 2:7; 1 Thessalonians 4:16;
John 5:28,29
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
21. What do the following scriptures teach about death and the dead? Psalm 146:3,4; Isaiah 38:18,19; Psalm 6:5; Psalm 115:17;
Acts 2:29-34
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
22. What question is asked? Job 14:10 Answer: _____________________________________________________________________
23. What answer is given? Job 14:12-14 Answer: ____________________________________________________________________
24. When will the change come? Compare Job 14:14,15 with 1 Corinthians 15:51-58
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
25. What warning does the Lord give? Isaiah 8:19
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
26. Note: A wizard, a witch, or any person with a familiar spirit is one who claims to communicate with the dead.
Read 1 Samuel 28:3,7,11,14.
27. What is the condition of Babylon (the apostate Religions and Denominations), just before the second coming of Jesus? What is
the call? Revelation 18:2,4
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
28. Note: The Bible gives a striking illustration of a witch who had a familiar spirit, a person who communicated with the so-called
dead, which was an evil spirit. Read 1 Samuel 28:3-25
29. What did king Saul do, what was the response? 1 Samuel 28:6
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
30. Why did the Lord not answer Saul by dreams, Urim, and by prophets? Answer: Saul had severed his connection from the Lord; he
had slain the high priest who wore the Urim (1 Samuel 22:17-19); he had rejected the words of the prophet Samuel and the words of
God, which the Bible likened unto the sin of witchcraft (1 Samuel 15:22,23).

31. What did the evil spirit lead Saul to do at that time? 1 Samuel 28:7
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
32. Yet what did Saul do in his earlier years as king? 1 Samuel 28:3,9
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
33. What did Saul request of the witch with the familiar spirit? 1 Samuel 28:11
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________

34. Note: Saul did not see the figure that represented Samuel. The witch claimed to have seen Samuel (1 Samuel 28:14). The witch said
that the old man had a mantle. Read 1 Samuel 15:26-28 and discover the truth about Samuel’s mantle.
35. What did Saul hear from the evil angel posing as Samuel? 1 Samuel 28:15-19
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
36. Note: The Scripture account of Saul’s visit to the woman of Endor has been a source of perplexity to many students of the Bible.
There are some who take the position that Samuel was actually present at the interview with Saul, but the Bible
itself furnishes sufficient ground for a contrary conclusion. If, as claimed by some, Samuel was in heaven, he must have been sum-
moned thence, either by the power of God or by that of Satan. None can believe for a moment that Satan had power to call the holy
prophet of God from heaven to honor the incantations of an abandoned woman. Nor can we conclude that God summoned him
to the witch’s cave; for the Lord had already refused to communicate with Saul, by dreams, by Urim, or by prophets. 1 Samuel
28:6. These were God’s own appointed mediums of communication, and He did not pass them by to deliver the message through
the agent of Satan. The message itself is sufficient evidence of its origin. Its object was not to lead Saul to repentance, but to urge
him on to ruin; and this is not the work of God, but of Satan… He did not communicate with Samuel, the prophet of God; but
through the sorceress he held intercourse with Satan. Satan could not present the real Samuel, but he did present a counterfeit, that
served his purpose of deception. {Patriarchs and Prophets page 683}

37. What does the Bible say regarding Saul seeking a witch with a familiar spirit in order to communicate with the so-called dead?
1 Chronicles 10:13,14 Answer: __________________________________________________________________________________
38. What is said about the power of Satan regarding the apparition of the dead? 2 Corinthians 11:13-15
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
39. What is one of the primary reasons for Satan communicating with the living through his fallen angels posing as dead loved ones?
1 Timothy 4:1 Answer: ________________________________________________________________________________________
40. What is the first false doctrine of the devil? What did Satan promise Adam and Eve in disobedience? Genesis 3:1-11
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
41. Note: The only one who promised Adam life in disobedience was the great deceiver. And the declaration of the
serpent to Eve in Eden--”Ye shall not surely die”--was the first sermon ever preached upon the immortality of the
soul. Yet this declaration, resting solely upon the authority of Satan, is echoed from the pulpits of Christendom and is received by the
majority of mankind as readily as it was received by our first parents. The divine sentence, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die”
(Ezekiel 18:20), is made to mean: The soul that sinneth, it shall not die, but live eternally. We cannot but wonder at the strange
infatuation which renders men so credulous concerning the words of Satan and so unbelieving in regard to the words of God.
{The Great Controversy page 533}

42. What kind of dead people will Satan and his devils personate as they communicate with the living? Why is that so?
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
When they have been led to believe that the dead actually return to communicate with them, Satan causes those to appear
who went into the grave unprepared. They claim to be happy in heaven and even to occupy exalted positions there, and thus the
error is widely taught that no difference is made between the righteous and the wicked. The pretended visitants from the world of
spirits sometimes utter cautions and warnings which prove to be correct. Then, as confidence is gained, they present doctrines that
directly undermine faith in the Scriptures. With an appearance of deep interest in the well-being of their friends on earth, they
insinuate the most dangerous errors. The fact that they state some truths, and are able at times to foretell future events, gives to
their statements an appearance of reliability; and their false teachings are accepted by the multitudes as readily, and believed as
implicitly, as if they were the most sacred truths of the Bible. The law of God is set aside, the Spirit of grace despised, the blood of
the covenant counted an unholy thing. The spirits deny the deity of Christ and place even the Creator on a level with themselves.
Thus under a new disguise the great rebel still carries on his warfare against God, begun in heaven and for nearly six thousand
years continued upon the earth. {The Great Controversy page 552}

43. What warning is given to God’s commandment-keeping people?
Answer: ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
I saw that the saints must get a thorough understanding of present truth, which they will be obliged to maintain from the
Scriptures. They must understand the state of the dead; for the spirits of devils will yet appear to them, professing to be beloved
friends and relatives, who will declare to them that the Sabbath has been changed, also other unscriptural doctrines. They will
do all in their power to excite sympathy and will work miracles before them to confirm what they declare. The people of God must
be prepared to withstand these spirits with the Bible truth that the dead know not anything, and that they who appear to them
are the spirits of devils. Our minds must not be taken up with things around us, but must be occupied with the present truth and a
preparation to give a reason of our hope with meekness and fear. We must seek wisdom from on high that we may stand in this day
of error and delusion. {Early Writings page 87}
