Past Moments of
Bryan
The so-called “Friend”
It was the year 2008, I was 4 at the
time and still lived in the
Philippines. Me, my dad, and my
brother lived together with my
cousins at the time, and I was kind
of lonely when my dad worked the
same day my brother went to
school. One day, I saw my cousin
playing with some other kids at the
street. Later on, I tried to ask them
but failed because I was too
nervous to do it. It wasn’t that
obvious to me that I had neither
social experience nor courage back
then. A few days after that, I
completely forgot about it and
talked casually to them. I enjoyed it
while it lasted, because we had to
move somewhere else.
Family Pursuit
In the year 2007, my mom had to
travel to America to be able to
support the family. About 1-2 years
ago, me, my brother, and my dad
were finally immigrants. Having to
stop halfway of sixth grade to be
able to reunite with my mother in
the year 2015. December 21 of
2015, we went to the airport and
started our travel. My brother
barely made the age limit of the trip
because on January 9, he was
turning 21. After a trip full of ear
aches and a whole lot of sleeping,
we landed in the LAX airport. After
collecting our luggage and doing
some processing, we saw our mom
waiting at the arrival area of the
airport. Finally after nine years, my
family was complete again (unless
my brother moves to Nevada to
work).
Introduction to Anime
A few years ago, my brother told
me to check something interesting
that he was gonna show me. He
told me it was anime, and the very
first one he made me watch was
an anime called Bleach. The first
few episodes were a bore to me,
and almost made me quit
watching. At the halfway point, it
was getting interesting, that was
because there were more frequent
fights. The last episodes were the
most intense and the ones to grab
me the most. After watching until
the end(except fillers), it still had
me on the hook about anime. Then
sooner or later he showed me
manga.
Bicycling without Training Wheels
Years ago, on my first bike, I
wanted to remove the training
wheels and ride without much
assistance. The very first day was
a complete failure, I scraped my
knee on the sandpaper-like road.
That stopped me from practicing
as soon as I can for like a week
(due to it being exposed). The next
time I tried, it went out of my
control most of the times, almost
crashing into walls. The net ones
after that became easier, because
I learned from my mistakes and
learned how to control it. After that
hard trial, me and my dad started
biking together around the
neighborhood.
