WE ARE BLACK HISTORY By Culture and By Merit Tau Omega Chapter Ivy Line February 2023

From the Desk of Madam Basileus Gree%ngs Sorors of Tau Omega Chapter! Happy Black History Month! During the month of February, we celebrate Black history. As women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. everyday is a season of celebra%on of “ HerStory.” Today, I pay homage to our Soror Theodora Fonteneau Rutherford, one of twenty-two Tau Omega charter members. Soror Theodora aMended Howard University gradua%ng summa cum laude, she then went on to become the first Black student to aMend the Columbia Business School class of 1924. This month I was filled with pride as Tau Omega members gathered adorned in pink and green aTre to aMend the Columbia Business School (CBS) 100th anniversary celebra%on for Soror Theodora. Together we celebrated Soror Theodora’s litany of “ Firsts.” As we are preparing for the 92nd North Atlan%c Regional Conference F.I.R.S.T.
