CLEANING YOUR SHOTGUN RW2 Cleaning Kit Rifle Cleaning Rod

Ensure your gun is unloaded and safe then £24.95 £19.95
dismantle the gun. The action should be cleaned on
the exterior using a soft oil cloth and nothing done
to the inside of the action. The wood should have a
little stock oil put on it to keep the stock looking as
good as possible. The exterior of the barrels should
be cleaned using the same oil cloth and the interior
should be cleaned using a cleaning kit of the correct
calibre. Firstly spray some bore cleaner onto the
phosphor bronze brush and run up and down each
barrel at least five times. Then use the jag with
patches wrapped around to clean out the bore
cleaner and dirt from the barrels, do so until the
patches come out clean. Place a smidgen of gun oil
on the last patch and run up and down each barrel
to place a very thin layer of oil in each to protect the
gun. Reassemble your gun, wipe any finger marks
from the barrels and place back in your cabinet.

CLEANING YOUR RIFLE £6.95

Ensure the gun is unloaded and safe, remove the
bolt and the moderator so the barrel is clear and
place your rifle onto a maintenance stand as the Bore Snake
rifle needs to be on a solid platform in order to clean Hoppes
efficiently. Choose the correct rod, brush, jag and £14.95
patches for your calibre and using a bore guide to
protect the action place a few drops of KG1 Carbon
Remover onto the brush (I use nylon) and push up
and down the barrel at least five times. Then place a
few drops of KG1 onto a patch, place on your jag and
push through the barrel once only. Leave the barrel
‘The Eagle has the longest range of all the NiteSite products. Going out to as far as 500m!’ now for around forty minutes then push one more
patch with KG1 on through the barrel then run dry
patches through, push each patch through only once Cleaning Products
until the patches come out clean. If a deeper clean KG Industries
is required then push a patch with KG2 Bore Polish From £6.95
through your barrel followed by one more and then
push dry patches through until they come out clean.
Do not then place an oiled patch down your barrel,
this will affect pressures and therefore accuracy.

TRAINING COURSES



















We at The Country Sports Shop are considering putting a training
area into the shop to cover subjects such as:
Firearms Safety Training
Metallic Cartridge Reloading
Rifle Maintenance
Hide & High Seat Construction

amongst others. We will be delivering some of the course content
but some course’s will involve other trainers and potential
venues. The course fees will be kept to a minimum and possible
run at weekends / evenings and we will negotiate with D&C for a
course that will allow shooters to have centre fire rifles on their
certificates (this will involve an external trainer and venue).

I believe that we can all benefit from training & refresher courses
from time to time and done at a local level we may even make
a few new friends & connections in the shooting world. Through
our relationships with both the BDS and BASC as well as our own
shooting, handling and reloading experience we can put some
quality training together for local shooters and country sports folk.

If this is something that has a demand we will put in the time,
effort and a dedicated training area to make this happen. Please
either send us an email or come and see us in the shop to discuss
that type of training that you wish to attend and we will endeavour
to meet your requirements.

We are a family run business with three generations involved offering high
quality service along with a large selection of stock. We offer quality guns
and accessories across the spectrum of shooting from beginners to highly
experienced at prices to suit all budgets.

Shooting is a great sport and delivers a sense of satisfaction, accomplishment
and most of all enjoyment so if you are thinking about taking up the sport come
