ABOUT UiTM Pahang Branch Universiti Teknologi MARA Pahang Branch, whose original name was Institut Teknologi MARA (ITM), was initially located in Kuantan, known as Kuantan City Campus. This is because the ITM establishment project in Bandar Jengka had to be postponed due to financial factors, difficulties in getting part-time lecturers, lack of infrastructural facilities and a less conducive environment. It is a temporary campus that started operating in January 1985 in Teluk Sisek, Padang Lalang and Bukit Sekilau with six academic staff and 15 administrative staff. At the beginning there were only three study programs conducted, namely Diploma in Accounting, Diploma in Business Management and Diploma in Bank Management with a total of 225 students. However, in 1986, six more study programs were added, namely Diploma in Public Administration, Diploma in Computer Science, Diploma in Secretarial Science, Diploma in Science, Diploma in Farm Management and Pre-Engineering which made the total number of students 1143. At that time, there were 55 academic staff , 44 administrative staff and 35 daily worker staff at this branch campus. In 1993, after the Jengka Campus began operating, there were only 12 academic staff and 26 administrative staff on duty at the Kuantan Campus.
