7.0 LIVELIHOOD LINKED TOURISM
SCHEMES UNDERTAKEN BY THE ATDC
FROM ITS OWN RESOURCES:
ATDC launched sustainable eco-tourism projects
with focus on carbon free mobility in association
with an NGO Root Bridge Foundation in Majuli
and with another NGO in Chandubi. Under the
scheme, high end bicycles have been provided
to NGOs who in turn share the rentals from
the bicycles with beneficiaries from the local
community. Bicycle cafes have been set up and
story-telling is a part of the cycling package. This
scheme has been very well received by tourists.
