Captain Masanori Kato

Managing Executive Officer
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines

First of all, let me extend my sincere appreciation to all our seafarers on board MOL operated vessels, it gives me great pleasure to
convey my deep gratitude to all of you. The exceptional efforts and keen performance of your duties in helping us maintain and
secure safe navigation is truly admirable. Over the years, I strongly feel that the cooperation and collaboration between Magsaysay
and MOL has developed tremendously and this is reflected in the highly qualified Filipino seafarers now manning our vessels.

We have held the MOL Safety Conference annually since 2007 in the main countries our seafarers come from, including the Philippines. The purpose of
these conferences is to explain our action plans to further enhance operational safety in the MOL group and to provide the opportunity for the exchange
of opinions and ideas between our seafarers and ourselves.
At the Conference held in Manila this March, we emphasized the importance of putting ideas into practice and our tenet is “STOP and THINK MORE”. When
you feel any doubt, especially during routine work, please “STOP and THINK MORE” to identify hidden or unexpected risks.

On a separate note, last year the MOL Magsaysay Maritime Academy was opened. The Secretary of Transportation of the Philippines praised MOL and
Magsaysay for opening a new maritime academy in the country, stating that “this maritime academy is a gift to the people of the Philippines.”
We feel great pride in being instrumental in providing opportunity to the people of the Philippines to embark on a successful career in the shipping industry.

The number of higher level positions available on MOL vessels is increasing steadily, giving more career options for our Filipino seafarers in the future. We
ask Filipino seafarers to take full advantage of these opportunities and make their presence known in MOL. We strongly believe you have the ability and
motivation to do so. Make the most out of your working life on board MOL vessels and a bright future is assured!

Finally, let me say once again that we are very appreciative of our Filipino seafarers, their families, and our strong partner, Magsaysay, for all their support
of MOL. Let us all work together as one big MOL Family and make MOL an excellent and resilient organization that leads the world shipping industry.

MAGSAYSAY MOL on the MOVE

Let’s Stop and Think More!

Magsaysay MOL Marine, Inc. gathers once again its Senior and
Junior Officers for the MOL Safety Conference 2019 which
was held on March 14, 2019 at the Diamond Hotel Manila.
The annual safety conference was designed to provide new
knowledge and refresh the understanding of the Magsaysay
MOL crew about safety operation while onshore. With its theme,
“Stop and Think More,” topics discussed include purpose of
the Safety Conference, recent incidents of 2018, improvement
of accommodation space, introduction of ICT (Information &
Communication Technology) utilization, harassment, bullying,
and alcohol control onboard which was led by four presenters
coming from MOL Marine Safety Division and Smart Shipping
Division — Mr. Satoshi Yamane, Capt. Hitoshi Abe, Capt. Kazuya
Kuriyama, and Capt. Noriyuki Tomono.
After a long day of learning and sharing of experiences about
safety operation, participants were invited for a sumptuous
dinner with a ceremonial toast and signing of commitment
wall, testimonials of the Magsaysay MOL loyal officers, and
appreciation messages from the executives led by Mr. Shizuo
Takahashi. Every participants went home with a new knowledge
and enhanced understanding about the life onboard.

I am Engaged!

Engagement is a very resilient word that binds people. It connects humane heart and builds up strong relationship. Here in Magsaysay
MOL, the relationship of each employee to one another as a team is the most essential aspect of the company as we believe that this is
the core our continuous success. The one-day teambuilding aims to strengthen the bond of employees, to sustain great collaboration
and connectivity at work, and also to reflect various challenges that everyone may face in the office.
Themed as ”I’m Engaged!”, the teambuilding was held in Camp Benjamin, Alfonso, Cavite on December 15, 2018. Everybody
enthusiastically participated in every game and activity as they are always on the go and totally forget that there is a boss and an
employee. Hence, employees are grouped in five namely, A(Appreciate), B(Behave), C(Commitment), D(Diligent), and E(Engaged).
Participants engaged in outdoor games which challenge their teamwork, determination, discipline, initiative, and team effort. Indoor
activities were also conducted which became a venue to know more about each other, to become more open about their personal
challenges, and to discover the things that are needed to be improved in order to maintain good relationship and productivity at work.
At the end of the day, a smile is painted in everyone’s faces. Each has found a reason why Magsaysay MOL is a place for growth
and learnings. Each has realized their part in attaining and maintaining success for the company. Each has felt how Magsaysay MOL
became their family, a second home. Everybody feels engaged as they screamed their hearts out “I am Engaged!”
