The price includes 1-15 Ton Trane Air Handler, 1-15 Ton Trane Heat Pump, 1-7.5 Ton Trane Air Handler and 1-7.5 Ton Trane Heat Pump. The project will reconnect to the existing supply duct, electrical and new refrigerant lines. It is prudent to budget for this replacement as the units are 31 years old and the current lead time for replacement is approximately 5-6 months. In addition, this will replace units in the kitchen and office area. The units have experienced as increasing amount of repair needs. Since 2016, repair costs have totaled $8,977.51. 161

The normal expected lifespan for a unit this size is 15 years. As part of our ongoing maintenance plan, we are planning and budgeting to replace one unit each year in 2023 and 2024. By proactively planning, we hope to avoid necessitating an emergency purchase when a unit goes down. Over the past 5 years, we have begun replacing smaller units at the RecPlex and have sustained significant expenses in keeping the current units running. In 2020, one of the large uits had a compressor go out, necessitating $10,000 expense. In addition, the new unit will increase efficiency and reduce the maintenance costs we are currently experiencing. Due to the fact that the condenser unit and other parts on the unit are becoming obsolete, it is prudent to replace this unit now. If the unit were to go down, this would drastically overwork the second unit in the gym and possibly cause it to fail. The timeline to replace this Carrier Unit is 6 months currently. 162

The truck had a replacement score of 19.5 and had 97,487 miles. A flatbed truck is needed to haul mulch, dirt and other materials to parks and pick up downed tree limbs.
