My Goals
My goal when I get older is to become an anesthesiologist. I
feel like this an appropriate career for me because it requires
helping people in need, and that’s what I want to do when I get
older, I want to be helpful in our society. Being an anesthesiologist
also requires you to have good grades and to be really smart,
which is why I’m going to have to study a lot if I want to pursue
this career. The last reason I think this job is appropriate is
because anesthesiologist makes a lot of money per year. Even
though it varies between the area in which you live in or decide to
work at, the minimum wage still pays very generously.
Short-range goals are necessary when going into this field.
These are goals I plan to complete this year in 8th grade. My most
important goal I have for myself this year is to get good grades,
specifically straight A’s. Another goal I have for myself is to
cooperate with my fellow peers. It’s important when you’re a
doctor to cooperate with your coworkers, so it’s good to always
have completed that skill by cooperating with my peers in the
classroom. Lastly, my third goal is to work on my social skills.
Although I’m not shy or anything like that, there’s always room
for improvement. It’s always good to have social skills so you’ll get
along with all of your coworkers at your new job.
My mid-range goals are very similar to my short-term goals,
they maintain the same gist. So one of my goals is to keep getting
good grades, for example, a 4.0 grade point average. Doing well
on my SAT’s is also very important if I want to get into a good
college and get a good education throughout my college career.
My last mid-term goal is to continue cooperating and working
with my fellow students/peers. It important to have a good
toleration with some of the people I’ll be working with in the
future, so practicing cooperation and teamwork throughout
middle school and high school is very important.
Lastly are my long-range goals, which in my opinion are the
most important. My first long-range goal is to get into a good
college, this reflects and how well I do in high school and on my
SAT’s. Then, after I get my undergrad, I want to get into a goo
medical school so I can study medicine to become an
anesthesiologist, most colleges have a connected medical school
so I’ll most likely just go to the one connected to whatever college
I go to. My last long-range goal is to find and get an internship at
a hospital, that way I’ll get first-hand experience in my profession
and learn a lot more about anesthesiology.
I recently interviewed an actual anesthesiologist and asked
her five questions about the profession. After I asked her the
questions, I’ve gathered that it takes a lot of work and focus to
become an anesthesiologis t. There’s a lot of schooling and
training that goes along with becoming an anesthesiologist.
Overall though, I think it’s worth it in the end if I get to help people
get better.
