The Portland Hospital borders two vibrant and exciting Central London areas, Marylebone and Fitzrovia. Marylebone is internationally recognised as the home of the Harley Street Medical District, which includes The Portland and our sister hospitals The Harley Street Clinic and The Princess Grace Hospital. Marylebone is bordered by Oxford Street to the south, with its excellent shopping, and Regent’s Park in the north, with its open spaces. Back to contents H E A R I N G A N D BALANCE SERVICES The hearing and balance department provides a wide range of diagnostic testing for paediatric hearing and balance needs, from newborn babies and upwards. Rapid access is offered for our services, often with same-day access possible for straightforward hearing investigations. Services include Tympanometry – Middle ear pressure test used for the detection of middle ear fluid Diagnostic Oto-Acoustic Emissions (OAE) – Similar to Newborn Hearing Screen Visual Reinforced Audiometry (VRA) – Hearing test for age group eight months - 2.5 years.
