Phenomena of “Makcik Bawang”

which opens to criticism by society. Thus, in this
programme, CCSC highlighted some basic
understanding regarding the issues from the
aspect of psychology mental health and skills.
The programme was conducted in two
consecutive nights with different sub themes i.e.
The Psychology of “Makcik Bawang (Night 1) and
“Makcik Bawang” Challenge Accepted (Night 2)."

Collaboration Programme
A strategic collaboration between Baitulmal Leadership Programme for Excellent Baitulmal
Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP) Scholarship Recipients Club (BEST)
(MAIWP) and CCSC to provide a good
platform for excellent sponsored students
from Baitulmal MAIWP to learn and
experience hands-on knowledge on
becoming a great leader. It was a three-day
program whereby all participants were
formed in a group and required to
participate actively through structured
games and interactive activities as to
develop positive leadership characteristic
and to boost up their self-confidence.

"Employability Related Programme (ERP) provides a platform for students and industries in building engagement
among them. Industries need to brand themselves in campus as a chosen employer while students need to
market themselves as potential employees. Several ERP were successfully conducted from April 2018 until June
2018 as to provide platform for industries to promote their branding to students while students can take this
opportunity to market themselves to industries."

4. Maybank Go Ahead Challenge (MGAC) 2018
"The MGAC is an annual competition organized by Date : 4th May 2018

competition was conducted at selected public and Judges : Maybank Team

future leaders. For the campus level held on 4th May
2018, ten (10) out of eleven (11) winners won by our
students. They will compete in the National Level held in

5. KICT Final Year Project Showcase
"The programme provides a platform to build engagement between students and industries. Final year Project
(FYP) is one of the compulsory courses in KICT for 4th year IT and CS students. Students are required to apply all
the skills and knowledge they gained during their study. As for this programme, students will have a chance to
market themselves to the industries by presenting their final year project and evaluated by selected industries. A
total of 10 group of students from IT and 10 group of students from CS presented their projects in front of the
external judges."

6. Career Boot Camp Graduate Employability Training : A Passport to Success

"CCSC has collaborated with Matrix Paradigm to conduct a two-
day workshop as to prepare the graduating students for the
workforce through a series of intensive, fun and invaluable
workshops. Matrix Paradigm is a management consulting firm
focused on building high-performing leaders, teams and
organizations for long term sustainable success. The students
were required to take DISC personality test to qualify them to be
selected in Graduate Employability Training (GET). The test is
important as to ensure the talents are fit to be in the industry.
The participants were exposed to the communication and
presentation skills as well as to improve their job interview
skills."
7. Graduate Employability and Marketability (GEM) Jobsmalaysia & IIUM 2018
GEM is a pilot project initiated by Jobsmalaysia. In this
project, each student is assigned to a mentor who will
consistently guide them for 3 months. Students who
have participated in this project are expected to be
100% employed. It is a great honor for CCSC to be
selected by Jobsmalaysia as an event partner for this
project. The event was successfully conducted from 9th
– 10th July 2018 with its main objective is to empower
and produce marketable graduates. Alhamdulillah, 69 of
our graduates have been selected to participate in the
project.

"The programme is organized to help students to

CARES 2018
"Counseling and Career Awareness Campaign (CARES)
is consistently organized so that the students are aware
of the existence of the Centre and the services provided
for them. This programme is not only aims to increase
the awareness within the IIUM Community, but also to
reduce the gap between the Centre and the IIUM
Community especially among students. Among the
activities conducted were personality and career tests,
resume checking and some fun activities which related
to counseling and career matters."

1. Innovate Malaysia Design Competition
2018 (IMDC 2018) : Google Track
Hearties congratulations to our students Br.
Muhammad Fahreza Alghifari (KOE) and Br.
Muhammad Wildan Zulfikar (KICT) on their
tremendous achievement for winning the 1st
runner up in the Innovate Malaysia Design
Competition 2018 (IMDC 2018) held on 9th July
2018 at Magic, Cyberjaya.
IMDC is the largest engineering design competition in Malaysia. The competition is open to
all third year and final year degree from engineering, computer science, IT and
science/mathematics students. The competition was organized by Dreamcatcher Consulting
Sdn. Bhd. which gathered world-renowned companies such as Google, Intel, Keysight,
MathWorks, Microsoft, SAS, SilTerra, and SOLIDWORKS to provide technological challenges
as well as companies such as Celcom, Cyberview, Daikin, Exabytes, Telekom Malaysia and
WCS Malaysia and to offer design challenges. Br. Fahreza and Br. Wildan had been shortlisted
among 39 finalists with more than 900 contestants participated in this competition.
Their amazing project entitled “Application of Speech Emotion Recognition using Google
Sensorflow Deep Neural Network for Suicide Prevention Hotlines” (EMOS) also had been
awarded as “Best Project of the Region” (with a status of Excellent Award). Technically EMOS
was supervised by Prof. Dr. Teddy Surya Gunawan (KOE) while psychological contents and
logistic were supported by Counseling and Career Services Centre (CCSC).

2. Maybank Go Ahead Challenge (MGAC) 2018 :
Global Final
We have made it! Our very own student, Br. Mohammad Huzaifa Fazal from Kulliyyah of
Engineering won 2nd Runner Up in the Maybank Go Ahead Challenge 2018 (MGAC 2018) for
Global Level. He was assigned in a team which consists of 5 members from India, Malaysia,
Indonesia and UK to complete the task. His team did very well in accomplishing the task.
Before competing in the Global Level, Br. Huzaifa won at the Campus Level and National Level.
The MGAC is an annual competition organized by
Maybank to test students’ competencies including
strategy, behaviour and general knowledge. The
students were required to compete in several
challenging activities such as debates,
presentations, simulations, games and physical
challenges. The competition was conducted at three
levels i.e. Campus Level held on 4th May 2018,
National Level held from 4th – 5th July 2018 and
Global Level held from 7th – 13th August 2018. For
the Global Level, finalists came from 12 different
countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia,
Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, India,
Bangladesh, Pakistan, Hong Kong and UK. This event
is a platform for Maybank to recruit talented fresh
graduates to be part of the Maybank family as well
as to be their future leaders.
