The Templehall Trash Troll
Outside at nursery one sunny day, The kids from Fair Isle went out to play...
“ Let’s go,”Abbie said,“tae the Rabbit Braes! It’s richt guid fun, ma sister says!”
Off on their scooters, down past the shops, Off to the Rabbit Braes, without any stops! Off on their scooters, away down the street,
But they noticed some rubbish down by their feet...
At last at the Rabbit Braes, the pals came to a stop, They started to play, skip, run and hop!
The kids were a-playing in and out of the trees,
When Jamie saw rubbish being blown in the breeze...
“Eurgh! That’s mingin’! It’s ruining oor game! We’re fed up wi’ rubbish, it’s time to go hame!” So back on their scooters, they went zip and zoom,
The sun it was setting and up came the moon...
Then out from the dark came beasties quite mean, The messiest creatures you ever have seen, Litter Bugs with rubbish scuttled about, Then one of them laughed and gave out a shout!
“Build a monster of rubbish, as big as a man,
A Trash Toll of garbage, let’s start with this can...” So they piled up the rubbish, crisp packs and more, Bags, bottles, paper, and the creature did roar!
“Rubbish! Rubbish! I’ll chuck it around!
I’ll mess up the trees, I’ll mess up the ground!” The Trash Troll he chuckled as he threw rubbish down,
Then followed the lights, right into the town...
He crashed and he bashed into Templehall, Messing up gardens, having a ball,
He messed up the library, he messed up the shops,
He tipped out the rubbish bins at the bus stops...
Half past eight, don’t want to be late!
The kids scooted up to the nursery gate... They jumped off their scooters before they went in,
Rubbish was everywhere and not in the bin!
The kids were disgusted by the terrible mess, What had done this? They just couldn’t guess... When out of the bushes burst the Trash Troll,
Stopping the monster, that was their goal!
“Listen up!” then said Aiden, “And here is my plan... Grab that string! Grab that can!”
Onto our scooters, tie ‘em on quick!
That messy old Trash Troll will fall for this trick!”
With a clang from the cans, the troll spun around, The plan it was working, it followed the sound! Through Templehall shops to the top of the brae, It was time that those kids sent the Trash Troll away!
They flew down the hill a-gathering speed,
Swerved through the bins, Leon in the lead, The Trash Troll yelled, “I just can’t stop... HELP!” He smashed into the bins with a crash and a yelp!
They jumped off their scooters, the kids looked around, The Trash Troll lay scattered all over the ground, “C’mon!” smiled Alex, “Put this stuff in the bins, Then the Trash Troll has lost and Templehall wins!”
