WalkAbou Review Quality

Prepared by: Prathaban Sevaraman Spotlight

Quality Services had initiated a new activity called the WalkAbout session
(Frankel, 2004) in July 2021. This activity is closely supported by the Risk,
Safety & Health, and Clinical Survey Officers.

During the WalkAbout session, the team’s primary goals are to conduct a
casual inspection of the services, randomly check on their compliance,
identify any posing risks and hazards, and inspect the safety and health
aspects of the services and personnel.

This initiative allowed the respective services/units to consistently look
after their area and work processes to improve patient and staff safety and
provide quality care.

Since its inception, the WalkAbout and their follow-up sessions were quite
fruitful, with immediate rectifications on the findings as depicted as
follows:

10 services/units/areas covered = 28.6% covered versus scheduled areas
