เรื่อง My Beloved King

King Bhumibol Adulyadej was born in the United States of America on
December 5, 1927. He returned to Thailand as the ninth king of the Chakri dynasty
on May 5, 1950.1

Throughout his reign, he began to visit his people, talk and listen to them
about their problems . He learned first hand of the needs of his people. He tried to
find ways to give immediate help. Throughout the years, he travelled to many
provinces and rural areas all around the kingdom.

Year 2006 was a very important year for the whole kingdom. It was the 60th
year of King’s accession to the throne. He has ruled the country longer than any
other king or queen in the world. In 60 years, he has helped many people; especially
the poor with many projects. One of the projects is ‚Making of Artificial Rain‛
which creates rain for crops to grow.

Now people have better lives and can look after themselves. The King has
given hope to all Thai people. We can truly say that the King is very much loved and
respected by Thai people.

เร่ือง Sufficiency Economy2

“To have enough for the individual to live on.”

The main idea of Sufficiency Economy was introduced by the King in 1997.
It gives plan for the Thai people to survive the crisis. He stressed in his many
speeches that he strongly believes that if his people adapt this thinking to their lives,
they can live without a lot of money. Money can’t buy everything. Thai people
follow his speeches with all their heart.

Ways to follow the idea of the Sufficiency Economy :
1) Save money. The King pointed out that people need not to be wasteful.
They need to save in the correct way.
2) Rely on your professionalism even when in shortage.
3) Stop selfish competition in businesses. He said that good progress means
happiness and prosperity for people seeking to be fair with both intent and action.
4) Never stop learning. He said that everyone needs to try to learn in order to
provide themselves with a life that is progressive, happy and enough.
5) Behave in a good way. He said that trying to make a good soul means
always trying to maintain and enhance the existing good.
The King focused on the word ‚enough.‛ In this way, the Thai people can be
satisfied of having a simpler and happier life.

เรื่อง The Royal Development Projects3

The Royal Development Projects concerning transportation is to
improve the roads in the rural to support convenient travelling and transport of
products to sell outside the community.

The first Royal Development Project in 1952 concerning transportation is
the project to construct a road leading to Huai Mongkol Village in Hin Lek Fai
Subdistrict, presently known as Thap Tai Subdistrict, Hua Hin District, Prachuap
Khiri Khan.

In 1953, His Majesty granted an initiative to construct Khao Tao
Reservoir in Hua Hin District of Prachuap Khiri Khan. The reservoir was the first
Royal Development Project concerning irrigation.

for her mother. Tomorrow will be her mother’s birthday. Sara will not bake
a cake. Her mother doesn’t like it. She will make a salad and pumpkin soup.
She is going to buy oranges this evening. She will make orange juice for
her too.
