Murder Case
On August 20, 2007, Nurin Jazlin binti
Jazimin went to a wet market close to
her home in Section 1 of Wangsa Maju,
Kuala Lumpur, to purchase a hair clip
alone.
The police were abl
e to discover that
she was last seen being dragged into a
white van by improving video captured
on a CCTV system situated nearby the
scene of the event.
Nurin Jazlin's parents made a missing
person report to the police a search for
her was made in the subsequent
weeks.

NURIN JAZLIN MURDER CHRONOLOGY
20th August 2007
Nurin Jazlin Binti Jazimin reported missing on the night of 20
August 2007. Her parents filed a missing person report.
A search for her was undertaken in the subsequent week by
several organisations. Police were able to find CCTV footage:
showing her being dragged into a white van.
17th September 2007
A man rang up the authorities to inform them that a black &
blue gym bag with a corpse inside was found at around 8.30
am.
20th September 2007
Police confirm that the body found in the gym bag is Nurin
Jazlin. The young girl was sexually abused and brutally
murdered. (cucumber and brinjal were placed into genitals)
21th September 2007
A special team was formed to search for Nurin's murderer
and it was headed by Federal CID directior Cristopher Wan

24th August 2007
Nurin’s parents risk being charged for negligence. the Prime
Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz said
that her parents should be charged for negligence.
Nonetheless, Mohamed's statement was rebuked because
they felt that parets shouldn't be punished after all they had
been through.
1st October 2007
Five suspects related to Nurin's case were arrested but four
of them were released almost immediately after their arrest.
2nd October 2007
Datuk Micheal Chong offered an RM20,000 reward to
anyone with information.
11th October 2007
Enhanced version of Nurin's kidnapping video released. In
2018, Nurin’s father asked the police to reopen his
daughter’s case and investigate it using the latest
technology.
Unfortunately, Jazimin’s plea fell on deaf ears because the
case was not reopened.
