1.We value love for God and people, expressed not only in word but also in deed. (Matthew 28:18-20). 3.We value personal relationships - beyond worship services and church activities - evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development. (Acts 2:46-47). 4.We value quality leadership as essential for a quality ministry. (Titus 1) 5.We value prayer as a means through which we communicate with God and through which He brings about eternal change. (Luke 11: 1- 13) 6.We value corporate worship and biblical teaching as fundamental for the well-being of each believer and the body as whole. (John 4) 7.We value grace as the context in which God’s standards are to be taught. (Titus 2: 11-15) 8.We value excellence in ministry because it honors God and inspires people. (1 Corinthians 3: 10- 15) 9. We value transformation, not just information, as the basis of a successful ministry. (2 Corinthians 3) 10. He is Risen! What a powerful truth that brings us a sense of security, solace and gratitude to what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has done for us. It is more than welcoming a new day or giving us a fresh start. We have been redeemed. My daily walks with Jesus are filled with reflective thoughts, trying to understand the depth of His sacrifices for me. How can a mighty God, blameless and perfect, die for me. A sinner. “Lord, Am i worth it?”. 1 Corinthians 7:23, answered this persistent question. The Resurrection automatically made us victors with Christ and whenever I recall an image of an empty grave as mentioned in the scriptures, it gives me the desire to share this great news to those who are lost. And this is what our modern world currently needs, an awakening. As you turn the pages of this magazine’s edition, may you be filled with joy and hope by realizing how God manifested His Faithfulness and Love in our lives as His children. It is a great encouragement to us that despite our circumstances, we should not be afraid as we serve a living God. Blessed Easter to us all! "The very first Easter taught us this: that life never ends and love never dies." "Easter is the demonstration of God, that life is essentially spiritual and timeless." "Christ the Lord is risen today, sons of men and angels say. Raise your joys and triumphs high; sing, ye heavens and earth reply." Kate McGahan This reminds me of the betrayal, suffering, sacrifice and death of our Lord Jesus Christ and on the third day he rose again. Both Jesus' death and resurrection brought everyone to the redemption of sins and the gift of eternal life that became possible to those who believes in Him. It was prophesied by Isaiah in Isaiah 53:3-11, and what Jesus taught to his disciples in Mat.16:21, 20:19, Mk. 8:31 & Luke 18:31-33. Jesus’ resurrection on the third day signifies the authenticity of the word of God that we will be resurrected with Christ and will be with Him eternally. What an amazing demonstration of the love of God to remember not just this day of the easter but every day of our lives. And to all who believes let us always remember this remarkable event that took place more than 2000 years ago, that brings forth the blessed hope with Jesus Christ. May all be encouraged to share this majestic experience of redemption and salvation to others that they may also enjoy life with God. And on behalf of my whole family we would like to greet you all a Happy Easter and may this Easter bring you new hope, new faith, and new beginnings. Happy Easter to all. E L D E R E D I S O N B A U T I S T A Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Let us rejoice for we have a hope that death is not the end for us believers. Because of His great love towards each one of us, He gave His life as payment for our sins. We praise and thank His Holy Name for what He has done on the cross of calvary. We have an everlasting life, and will soon resurrect with Jesus because of His death on the cross. We are indeed blessed to be a part of God’s family and to be called His sons and daughters. We are united through His love that binds us. May we find hope and life in Jesus’ resurrection. Let us keep sharing the love that we have to our unsaved loved ones, and to all the people around us. May God give us the boldness to share the good news of Salvation. In John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” God bless us all! E L D E R M A R I L Y N D U A T I N Easter Greetings “Jesus’ resurrection on the third day signifies the authenticity of the word of God that we will be resurrected with Christ and will be with Him eternally.”

Warm wishes on Holy Week to you and your loved ones. Let us never forget that Jesus made a sacrifice for our sins and we must always be grateful for that. As God says in Ephesians 4:32: “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God has forgiven you. Brother's and sisters in Christ , let us love our enemies and detach ourselves from our worldly feelings. This sounds very difficult, and yes, it is. But with the Holy Spirit’s help, we can do this.It takes work, but more importantly it takes a great deal of prayer, trusting God and believing in His love and mercy to make things right. This is the greatest thing that we can do: taking the first step to love an enemy from the heart. Gloria a Dios. E L D E R D E I T O A G R A V A N T E Resurrection Sunday, also called Easter Sunday, is regarded as one of the most awe-inspiring and most celebrated events in Christian history. "He is Risen", however, is the most powerful three words a Christian can say on Easter morning. “He is Risen” gives us a real sense of hope and freedom from fear. The resurrection of Jesus proved the truth in Scripture. He promised our own future resurrection when he rose from the dead, fulfilling what he had stated he would do (John 10:17-18). Our Savior, Jesus triumphed over death and is alive today. He is all powerful. His resurrection guarantees the future inheritance with Christ in heaven to all who follow him and provides strength as well to their Christian life here on earth. Amidst all the devastating events around us, whatever we've endured, whatever challenges we’ve facing today, or what uncertainties tomorrow may hold, don’t run from God. Hold on to Him instead. Christ alone is our hope. Let us concentrate on the hope that came about because of Christ's suffering on the cross for all of us. Let us not only celebrate Easter Sunday as a one-time event every year, let us focus on getting to know Jesus better every day in order to fully understand the length, width, height and depth of His incredible love for us. May the redeeming power of Christ’s resurrection, which we have experienced, grant us not only freedom from fear but enable us to share the good news of Jesus to others. So that they can also live in the power of His resurrection as well as spread the good news of Jesus everywhere. He is Risen!!! Let’s celebrate Easter Sunday with full of hope and confidence knowing that Jesus is alive and that we can have life to the fullest in Him. On behalf of my family, I would like to wish you all a blessed and happy Easter. E L D E R D O R I S P A E Z Amidst all the devastating events around us, whatever we've endured, whatever challenges we’ve facing today, or what uncertainties tomorrow may hold, don’t run from God. Hold on to Him instead.

I express love to my loved ones example my Mother by greeting her when I wake up in the morning and I am reminding her how good our God is coz we have another day to cheer up and also by saying her a small prayer throughout her day. - Reneelyn Dasco Love can be expressed in many ways, such as spending quality time, sacrificing, being kind, understanding, and empathizing. But forgiveness is what truly expresses what real love is all about. Regardless of our difficult situations or sins, God will forgive us unconditionally. And I believe that’s how true love can be expressed. -Jan Naomi Derilo I’m a person who’s not vocal, I don’t say “I LOVE YOU” because I’m not good with words. I’m expressing my love by making sure that I will be there for them anytime they need me, making them my priority, but most of all they are always in my prayer that the Lord will bless and keep them safe and happy all the time. Jocel Gacosta How do you express love? My expression of love are through words and spending time. Even busy, will always find time to be with them: family, friends. I let them know how much they mean to me by saying “I love you” most of the time. - Tetchie Montealegre Spending time with them while trying to make them smile. Giving little trinkets and treats they might like every once in a while. - Chariesh Bitanga I express love to others by loving first the creator of love. Accepting and recognizing His love as everything else will follow. -Mc Larry Mateo By act of service and quality time. I’m happy by serving them with all my heart. Not only for the people who love me but also for those who are in need. I do also for a quality time not for quantity. Maintaining quality is more important than quantity in personal life. -Connie Alberto I express my love through sharing certain aspects of my life to my loved ones. Also, through kissing, hugging , saying I love you at every chance and I express my love through making surprises. - Necel Rosell I show love by understanding people’s situation and what it is like to be in their shoes. It helps me understand how I can best care for them and what they need. - Christian Claude Utlang I express my love by spending time with them. Example is watching movies or sports with my parents. -Angelo Almeda Love is easy. It is everywhere and everything. But to maintain that love, you need patience and perseverance. Though love can be challenging, it will always be worth it. Unconditional love is what we all should aim to give. - Zach Eleazar Tonacao Usually I express love by giving affection and giving gifts but also taking the time to always see people I like even though sometimes I might not be available. - Anya Fey Montealto By giving time, trust and being truthful while showing you care, while enjoying the little things in life. - Christian Victor San Juan

“Dawn Watch” is a special prayer meeting held in the early morning by many Christian churches around the world. Dawn is the first appearance of light in the sky before sunrise. The Filipino Christian Church (FCC) in Abu Dhabi holds its dawn watch worship on every first Sunday of the month, from 5:30am to 7 am, making it a distinctive event from other church activities which are usually held during the day or evening. Dawn watch is a time for participants to gather, worship, and praise God, pray together in groups, and share their victories and thanksgiving through testimonies. In addition to prayer, exercise is also a significant part of the program. Due to the pandemic Dawn watch was suspended, but was revived in September 2021 through Zoom meetings. Finally, face-to-face meeting was reinstated in January 2022. It was spearheaded by Patricia Zarate and the Prayer Ministry team. The first Dawn watch of the year 2024 was held on January 07, just a week after the New Year celebrations. It was a morning filled with excitement and joy as the 25 attendees shared their testimonies of how God worked in their lives. The devotional speaker, sister Cyndi Manlogon, spoke on “The Merits of Unstoppable Prayer Life,” emphasizing confidence, courage, and commitment. Quoting Nehemiah 2:4-5, she truly inspired participants with the Word of God. In a role-play introduction, the audience portrayed a boy from Iowa who called 911 to save his mother’s life. Sister Cyndi acted as the dispatcher and the audience as the boy. The activity introduced the concept of being confident, courageous, and committed in life. JANUARY Joyful “Morning Glory: Devotional Sharing in the First Prayer Dawn Watch of 2024” By : Linda Plaza “The Merits of Unstoppable Prayer Life, ” Nehemiah 2:4-5 Pastor Ben Hur Pineda then prayed for the birthday and wedding anniversary celebrants, and after taking group pictures, and closing prayer, there was the food fellowship. Since there was a lower turnout, the food was overflowing, and it was a happy “Sharon’ day as we shared in the blessings of the Lord and brought home so much food. Attending Dawn watch is a commitment that requires sacrificing one’s sleep and waking up early, but the experience is always rewarding. Praise be to God alone! 07 January 2024

MINISTRY FAIR This event happens every year in January, so we can start the new year of serving the Lord. Our recent Ministry Fair was on January 26, 27 and 28 of 2024. Many church members signed up for multiple ministries, and I was standing behind the table for DCRM (Disaster, Calamity, Response Ministry). Ministry members were encouraging everyone to sign up and DCRM has successfully filled up with the registration form numerous signatures and names. The attendees seemed to be eager to join the ministry, during the event many of the attendees gave sincere feedback about each stand. SERVING GOD, SERVING THE CHURCH By Azariah “Zirie” Roque Welcome to the MINISTRY FAIR! This is how excited I was on that day. It was my first time to participate in this year’s Ministry Fair. The fair is an event where you can sign up for the ministry of your own choice. Clusters like Worship, Membership Growth and Development, Christian Nurturing, OutReach, Mission and Evangelism, Functions and Events, and Admin and Finance. 2024 It was a festive occasion, members stayed after the service to check out the booths and the flyers carefully prepared by the ministries. Everybody seemed very inquisitive in the ministries available. Why do we have to join the ministries of the church? Deuteronomy 10:12 says, "Serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul." That’s basically what joining your very own ministry is like! We make these events occur because we want people to know that there are different ways of serving the Lord I signed up for 3 ministries this year. I don’t consider myself young to show how much I adore God and how much I want to praise Him in my own little way. Another benefit of being in a ministry is having new friends and showing your love to God! FCC members were able to join their chosen ministries during the event, and my anticipation for the following year is more people will join different ministries. Joining the ministries does not end at the ministry fair, at any time during the year you can join and experience how God works in each ministry. And I wish many more people are going to join ministries or even make a new ministry other than the ones existing. All glory belongs to God!

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY MOVING UP CELEBRATION! Shining Bright Last Saturday morning, January 27th was no ordinary morning at our church. It was the day we had all been waiting for – the Children's Ministry Moving Up Celebration. The kids in their best outfits, parents beaming with pride, and a whole bunch of excitement in the air. The theme of the day was a verse from the Bible – Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." The kids showed up looking their best in the eyes of the Lord. It was a parade of cuteness and hit the stage to sing a song called "Ready to Go." The song is about being driven for the future and being ready for the next level of their faith journey. Can you imagine a room full of little voices singing their hearts out? It was pure magic. In the middle of all the fun, our friend Joy Mangibin gave a quick, cool pep talk about carrying God's love with us. Short, sweet, and powerful – just the way we like it. Sis. Joy brought some extra sunshine to our already bright morning. Oh, and the parents? They were right there, cheering, clapping, and soaking in every moment. It was a family affair, and the love in the room was so strong you could almost touch it. The little students from the Cubbies class had a surprise for everyone. They sang "God Loves Me" – a burst of joy and cuteness that added an extra sprinkle of magic to the event. The Cubbies teachers led the whole event, making sure everyone had a blast. Big cheers to the awesome team! Here's the coolest part – the event was not just a success; it was blessed. We felt the spirit of God all around us. It was like a warm hug, having everything run smoothly and filling the morning with a special kind of happiness. The Children's Ministry Moving Up Celebration was a hit. Little steps were taken, big smiles were shared, and the spirit of God was right there with us. As our little ones move up, they carry the joy of this morning into their next adventures. "Filipino Christian Church Abu Dhabi Holds Leadership Conference " On January 13th, the Filipino Christian Church Abu Dhabi convened its board members for a pivotal leadership conference at The Evangelical Church's Basement Hall. The event drew a crowd of 78 attendees, comprised of pastors, elders, and deacons, marking a significant gathering within the Filipino Christian Church Board in Abu Dhabi. Following the Tagalog worship celebration, attendees enjoyed the meal provided by the Food Ministry. The program commenced with a prayer led by Ptr Albert Yasona, followed by inspiring Praise and Worship sessions by the Counterflow Youth and SALT Ministry The conference then transitioned to a comprehensive overview and orientation session by Sis Chellie Camarce, shedding light on the structure of FCC Abu Dhabi's board, ministry clustering, and membership guidelines as stipulated in the church's bylaws. This segment served as a vital informational foundation for all attendees, ensuring a common understanding of organizational frameworks and objectives. The highlight of the conference was a challenging team-building exercise, expertly facilitated by the Social and Sports Ministry. Participants were grouped by clusters and tasked with a creative challenge: constructing a replica of the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, using only white bond paper. The activity aimed to foster unity and strategic planning skills among members. Pastor Ben Hur Pineda delivered a message from the Word of God, setting a spiritual tone for the discussions ahead. Elder Doris Paez then led the plotting of ministry activities for the 2024 calendar, ensuring coordination and harmony among church activities and ministries. The conference reached its pinnacle with a highly anticipated brainstorming session for the upcoming 40th anniversary, facilitated by Elder Agnes Morales. Attendees enthusiastically shared their insights and suggestions for this milestone event. As the conference drew to a close, participants gathered for a group photo, followed by a closing prayer led by Ptr Edman Chester Ocampo, symbolizing unity and spiritual guidance as they departed, energized and united in their mission. WARRIORS OF GOD By: Bernadette Lopez F I S H E R S O F M E N The movement of the Holy Spirit in Northern Emirates is undeniably unstoppable. As the divine presence paves the path for individuals to encounter, behold, and embrace the boundless grace and love of God, the response is nothing short of overwhelming. Eagerly, the members themselves yearn to proclaim to the world their unwavering faithfulness as followers and believers of Christ. On January 28, 2024, seven members of the FISHERS OF MEN, WARRIORS OF GOD Bible Study group in Umm Al Quwain embraced a courageous decision: to partake in a WATER BAPTISM ceremony at the Umm Al Quwain Open Beach. Pastor Sonny Pasia officiated the solemn occasion, while Elder Mark Capaning provided assistance, marking the culmination of their Christian Growth Ministry (CGM) journey following their final interview on January 21, 2024. Undeterred by the cool breeze and chilly seawater, their resolve remained steadfast. The sea itself appeared to echo their determination, playfully tossing forth lively waves and emitting a joyous melody as each member, adorned with a smile, was gently immersed in its embrace. This reminds me of the Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians after hearing the good news about Jesus from Philip in Acts 8:26-40. And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?”[Acts 8:36). Same words I heard from the members, what prevents them from being baptized? Nothing! Thanks to God’s immeasurable grace and lovingkindness, everything went perfectly well. His timing is always perfect.

Year 1984, the FCC (Filipino Christian Church) was established, and this year, 2024, marks the 40th anniversary of the church. As the co-chairman of the spearheading committee for the forthcoming worship celebration in September, I am excited to commemorate this significant milestone, not only for the church but also for the members. Nag-umpisa ng magmeeting (Kick Off) ang Outreach Cluster (DCRM and HCF Ministry) together with Mission and Evangelism Cluster (Follow Up, ME and Tentmaker) last January 27. The committee was formed, and as the meeting progressed, everyone expressed their enthusiasm and contributed valuable insights. Kaya antabayan lamang po ninyo ang mga susunod na announcements, kung saang committee makakasama ang inyong ministry. Together, we will work towards ensuring the success of this event and making it truly memorable. That this event will be pleasing to the eyes of our Lord. Indeed, the upcoming months will be very busy not only within FCC Abu Dhabi but also across our daughter churches in the UAE, Philippines, and in other parts of the world. KICK OFF MEETING 27 January 2024 As we collectively prepare our hearts and minds for the upcoming preparations, let's acknowledge the immense value that comes from the unified participation of each individual. Stay tuned for forthcoming announcements, and know that my prayers are with each of you as you play a crucial role in this event for the Lord. Let us give our best anniversary celebration for God’s glory!

FEBRUARY Over the past two years, Disaster and Calamity Response Ministry (DCRM) has consistently organized the Love Month Project as part of our regular fundraising programs. This heartwarming initiative involves purchasing, wrapping, and delivering gifts to our loved ones. While we have always been dedicated to assisting couples in creating surprises for their spouses, this year marked a special twist known as "Hubby’s Turn." In this edition, ladies took the initiative to purchase gifts for their husbands/boyfriends, orchestrating delightful surprises. We discreetly presented them with unique gift options: Option 1 - "Irog, you complete me," Option 2 - "Together Forever, Tayo," Option 3 - "Labs na Labs Kita, Promise," and Option 4 - "I Heart You, Saranghe." Our delivery efforts unfolded over two days, on the 14th and 17th of February. Due to limited volunteers, some deliveries stretched until midnight, ensuring that we successfully brought your heartfelt gifts to your loved ones. We're eagerly anticipating more delivery volunteers next year to facilitate early deliveries. Additionally, we organized a mini "harana," featuring the favorite songs of their lover. While the entire process demanded significant effort, witnessing the joy it brought people made every ounce of effort worthwhile. We want to extend our deepest gratitude for the overwhelming support we received from our FCC brethren, friends, and the dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly. Their unwavering efforts were truly invaluable. We're also praying for increased support from all of you, encouraging you to explore our delightful gift selections for your loved ones. Stay tuned for our Love Month Project in 2025! Exciting new twists and surprises await you. God bless everyone! By Den Dasco Calo Hubby’s Turn FAITHFUL

PALARONG PINOY 2024 In a vibrant celebration of Filipino culture and community spirit, the Children's Ministry, in collaboration with the Social and Sports Ministry, supported by the Health Care Fellowship (HCF) Ministry and Multimedia Ministry, successfully hosted the much-anticipated Palarong Pinoy 2024. This year's event saw enthusiastic participation from various age groups within the church, namely the Cubies, Sparks, Flames, and Torch, each bringing their unique energy and excitement to the festivities. Palarong Pinoy, a cherished tradition that pays homage to the classic Filipino games, was reimagined this year not as a competition, but as a joyful gathering aimed at fostering unity, promoting physical well-being, and celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines. The playground was buzzed with laughter and cheer as children and adults alike engaged in traditional Filipino games such as "Patintero," "Luksong Tinik," "Sipa”, Tumbang Preso” and more. Each game a reminder of the simple joys and the spirit of togetherness that define Filipino community life. By engaging in games that required cooperation and fair play, the children learned valuable life lessons, like teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship; all while being in a fun and engaging environment, under the watchful eyes and encouraging words of the supportive teachers. The Social and Sports Ministry, along with the support of the HCF Ministry, highlighted the benefits of engaging in physical games for both mental and physical health, fostering a holistic approach to well-being among the church members, regardless of age. Palarong Pinoy 2024 was more than just a day of games, as it was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and cultural pride. Everyone left with not just fond memories, but a renewed sense of community and belonging. All Praises and Glory belongs to our God alone. USAPANG BABAE, ANO ANG LATEST? FCC WOMEN’S MINISTRY KICK OFF With a vision to unite and continuously grow together in Christ, FCC Abu Dhabi Women’s Ministry held its kick off activity on February 10, 2024 at The Evangelical Church. It brought together a total of 53 women from diverse backgrounds—married, single, single mother, and widowed. Driven by a mission to win women to Christ and lead them to a deeper relationship with Him, Church Elders: Agnes Morales, Doris Paez, Emy Abad, Marilyn Duatinand Leaders ; Church and Volunteers Bernadette Narciso, Techie Montealegre, Khristine Noveda, Ma. Louisa Roque; and the Women’s Ministry Head, Deacon Ruth Yasona, and Ministry Assistant Sis. Abigail Cabanatan joined together to encourage FCC women to participate and embark on this new chapter of the ministry. At the heart of the event, a profound message by Ate Fe Masiglat was drawn from Ester 4:14-16, a scripture passage that resonated deeply with her. She eloquently expounded on the courage and resilience exhibited by Queen Esther in the face of adversity. She emphasized the importance of faith, prayer, and bold action, drawing parallels between Esther’s story and the challenges modern women encounter in their lives. The tagline, “Max out... Be that WOMAN” reflects the ministry’s aspiration to encourage women to strive for their fullest potential in all aspects of their lives—spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially. It serves as a rallying call for women to step into their power, embrace their uniqueness, and make a positive impact in their spheres of influence through the ministry. It featured heartfelt worship, interactive sessions, and opportunities for fellowship. Participants shared their personal testimonies, struggles, and triumphs, finding strength in each other’s stories and with Christ. With the empowering message inspired by Queen Esther, FCC Women’s Ministry aims to encourage and empower women in Abu Dhabi and beyond to ignite a passion to grow spiritually, develop meaningful relationships with Christ, and fulfill their God-given purpose. HEARTS DAY CONCERT The SALT Love Fellowship, held last February 17, 2024 in The Evangelical Church, was indeed a success in demonstrating a Christ-like kind of love. It was a fun-filled activity—people gathered to sing songs of love, serenaded and inspired by the testimonies and songs of the selected few to share how powerful the love of God really is, and celebrated love centered in Jesus Christ. In Christianity, the concept of love is central to the beliefs and practices, as exemplified by teachings such as “Love your neighbor as yourself” and “Love one another as I have loved you”. This fellowship focused in the celebration and reflection on the importance of love in the Christian faith through special services, sermons, and events focused on themes of love, compassion, kindness, and caring for others. This observance serves as a reminder for Christians to embody love in their relationship with others, whether it be through act of service, forgiveness, or simply showing kindness and empathy just like Jesus Christ. It served as a reminder of the commandment to love one another and to treat others with kindness, respect, and compassion. It was a time to reevaluate one’s relationship, attitudes, and actions in light of the love that is central to how Jesus Christ loves, and to renew one’s commitment to living out that love in practical ways. SALT Love Fellowship indeed paved a way in the recommitment to living out the principles of love that are foundational to the Christian faith and to practice extending love not just to those close to us, but also to those in need and throughout the communities outside of the church. It provided an opportunity for reflection, growth, and a renewed focus on the love that is central to the teachings of Jesus Christ. By: Jixy Nikaul Derilo

UPSKILLING: FIRST AID TRAINING An eventful day filled with deep insight and a magnitude of learning from a ministry that seeks to save lives and souls for God! This 4-hour seminar handled by the Health Care Fellowship (HCF) ministry was attended by 18 participants from 4 different FCC ministries with the goal of spreading necessary safety information that would save lives especially during church events. There were many things to be learned starting from the informative lecture from Dr. Leonor Luna and the practical lessons from Kuya Joel Tabor, as well as the practical uses of HCF equipment so that not only members of the HCF can apply first aid, but all the participants too! Did you know that it is now legal to provide CPR to an emergency as long as the guardian present is willing? The participants didn’t either, until this seminar of course! For just 4 hours of your time, who knows how much lives one could save or help? Truly, a magnificent learning from an ever-present ministry serving the everliving God! By: Nathaniel Tonacao

The vibrant energy of the SALT and Counterflow Youth Ministry infused praise and worship sessions, enriching the spiritual atmosphere. Indeed, the celebration of God’s love is not limit only in February, but spreading every day of our lives. We invite all to join us every Thursday at 8pm in Main Hall 2 at the Evangelical Church, as we continue to seek the transformative power of prayer and celebrate the boundless love of our Creator. In the month of February, a time universally celebrated for love, the FCC Prayer Ministry embarked on a month-long commemoration of this profound theme. Every Tuesday at 8pm in Main Hall 2 of the Evangelical Church, members gathered for prayer, recognizing its important role in the life of the church. As stated in James 5:16, "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." Throughout this special month, various facets of love were explored. The opening week commenced with a powerful lesson on “Overcoming the Giant of PROCRASTINATION” delivered by Ptr. Benjie Masiglat Jr. by Pastor Benjie, In the second week, Ptr. Ben Hur Pineda delved into the topic of “Basic Responses to Have Right Emotion & Attitude in Times of Trouble” while Ptr. Edman Chester Ocampo explored the “B2B: ACTIVE LOVE... Let us LOVE like Jesus!”. The culminating event occurred on the last Tuesday of the month, Thanksgiving Night, where brethren shared their gratitude and praises to God. During this gathering, a symbolic puzzle-building activity engaged congregation, highlighting the kinds of love, Agape Unveiled: God’s unconditional, selfless love, Eros Redeemed: Understanding God’s Sacred Romantic Love, Storge Chronicles: Embracing Family in God’s Eternal Love and Philia Bond: Nurturing Friendship in God’s Love. “Embracing Love: A February Journey of Prayer and Reflection” By Gelo Salazar

The DCRM Bazaar, initially known as Talent Bazaar when it commenced in April 2022, has evolved into an annual fundraising initiative. The original goal was for FCC brethren to showcase their diverse talents, ranging from baking, cooking, and electrical work to tailoring, appliance repair, room partition installation, upholstery, personalized keychain crafting, 3D printing, and floral and balloon arrangement. A portion of the proceeds generated from these activities is allocated as funds for DCRM projects. As the years progressed, the event broadened its scope to include non-FCC members when the need for additional talents or participants arose, concurrently serving as a part of evangelism. The initial practice of contributors sharing a percentage of their earnings has transitioned into a fixed fee per table, contributing to DCRM funds. Having successfully run for three years, the DCRM Bazaar continues to attract a diverse array of participants, with some becoming regular contributors to the project. This project has developed into a collaborative endeavour, providing an opportunity for each BS (Bible Study) group or Ministry to participate and raise funds for their respective groups actively. At this year's bazaar, which took place from March 1 to 3, FCC Mussafah participated for the first time, contributing to the fundraising endeavours for their upcoming 30th-anniversary celebration on March 30. Deacon Archie Arcadio, one of the members of FCC Mussafah, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for this initial experience, remarking, “Thanksgiving to God for He blessed us during our fundraising bazaar for the sold-out food and other items. All glory to Him as He unites the members of FCCM for their boundless effort of time and strength for our anniversary.” The DCRM Bazaar is held quarterly, and we look forward to your continued support, whether you opt to participate or become a patron. Your support will make a substantial contribution to our fundraising endeavors, ensuring that we have the resources to extend assistance to our brethren or "kabayans" during times of calamities or unforeseen needs.

The scripture teaches us to care for our mind, body, and soul, and cycling is one way to do just that. Praise be to God for the gift of cycling! The Filipino Christian Church Social and Sports Ministry cycling activity began in late 2017 with a small group consisting of Pastor Benjie, Bro. Joey, Sis. Ruby, Doc Sta. Romana, Bro. Romeo and Sis. Sarah. They share a mutual expression of gratitude to God for the blessing of a strong body, capable of moving in numerous ways and acknowledge that our strength comes from the Lord. Initially, it was a casual biking session around Abu Dhabi city, but soon became widely embraced and more people are joining. Later, Pastor BenHur, Elder Gerry, Elder Eddz, Bro. Ben, Bro. Toni, Bro. Glenn and other interested FCC members joined this social gathering. Presently, the cycling activity usually takes place on Saturdays and the group meets in Hudayriat Island. Cycling is a great activity on its own, but also a way to enjoy fellowship with others. Riding with a group fosters a sense of belonging and camaraderie. It provides opportunities to meet new people, cultivate meaningful connections, and opportunities to share and reflect on the Word of God. The FCC SSM Cycling group cares deeply for one another, creating a bond like that of a family. Their support and encouragement, rooted in joy, kindness, and faith in the Lord, making cycling a celebration of His grace and strength in our lives, serves as a great testimony to others. The FCC SSM Cycling activity welcomes all FCC members, nonmembers, and their families and friends. Whether you are a cycling enthusiast or simply enjoy cycling as a hobby, you are invited to join. Additionally, there is a walking fellowship for those who may not participate in cycling. All glory to God, the giver of life and the source of our joy. Anyone is free to join the ride and pedal forward, honoring Him with every turn of the wheels! FCC Social and Sports Ministry RIDE AND FELLOWSHIP By: Trixie Chong “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So, glorify God in your body.” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20).

FCC Children’s Choir: Little Voices with Big Heart to Worship Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be in a choir that sings for God? Being a member of the Children's Choir, it's fun to go to church every Friday to sing along with friends. How did it start? It was formed on November 4, 2022, when Tita Fe Masiglat talked to Tita Eva Cabildo about organizing a Children Choir, which is only for Friday worship services. The people who were involved were Tita Eva, Tita Len Almeda, Tita Fe, Pastor Benjie Masiglat, and the accompanist, Ate Joy Natividad. From 11 members in the choir, now we are 20 voices singing to the Lord. We meet up every Friday at 7:30 pm in room F11. The first time we sang was on November 25, 2022. It was challenging to learn new songs but because of our heart to praise God, we are able to sing “I Give Thanks” during the Thanksgiving Celebration of the church. A year after, we were able to hold a mini concert. Our mini concert was very memorable to us. We had to learn five songs with a short skit to make a Christmas story. I knew it wouldn't be easy, but when you keep on practicing and give your heart, it will become effortless. What about the mini-concert? What's the story behind it? The mini-concert was all about Jesus Christ and the message of Christmas, I asked a friend from the Children’s Choir how they felt after the mini-concert, and Jhon Jeruel Fabul said "Even after all the humility, our songs were not for the audience, but it was for the Lord. It doesn't matter whether we pleased the crowd. All that mattered was that we pleased the Lord." I also asked Lara Isabel (Sabie) Posa, who moved up from Children’s Choir to Youth Choir, she said “I was nervous to go on stage and perform multiple songs at once but since it was for the Lord, I got through it and put my whole heart into it and after the performance, I felt like I was gonna die.” By: Azariah “Zirie” Roque And this is Children's Choir, a still-growing ministry that sings for the Lord with full heart's content. Hopefully, we'll see more kids joining this ministry! And if they do join, I am sure that they will have the best time!

THE STORY GOD’S STORY EASTER CANTATA 2024 BY: CHOIR MINISTRY CORE This is the most compelling story of all time, the story of true God who loves His children, who made a way of salvation and provided a route to eternity. This story reveals the God of grace, the God who speaks, the God who listens; the God who acts; the God whose love for His people culminated in His sacrifice of Jesus, His only Son to atone for the sins of humanity. What’s more, the same God is alive and active today – still listening, still acting, still pouring out His grace on us. Let us experience the Story of Jesus Christ once again; follow his footsteps, hear his words of love and forgiveness then listen to God’s call on your life, as He helps you write your own story. Holy Week is a time the world commemorates and participates in the Passion of Jesus Christ. The Passion was the final period of Christ's life in Jerusalem, from the time He arrived in the city, until He was crucified. This is the time when we celebrate the life, death and the purpose of His actions, the time to reflect on His messages and recommit to living as His disciples in the world today. The Bible says that the crucifixion of Jesus occurred after he was arrested and charged as He claims to be king of the Jews, which was considered a betrayal of the king and punishable by death. Jesus was whipped, carried his own cross, hung between two thieves, pierced in the side, and given a crown of thorns to wear. The Story of Easter is really important to Christians, who see the resurrection as proof of Jesus being God's son. For many Christian churches, Easter is the joyful end to the Lenten season of fasting and penitence. It is a time of prayerful reflection and coming together as Christians to reminisce upon and be grateful for the sacrifices Jesus made for our salvation. Let us remembering the last 7 words JESUS: The seven last sayings of Jesus “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34). 1. “You will be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43). 2. 3.“Woman, behold your son!” (John 19:26-27). “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46). 4. 5.“I thirst!” (John 19:28). 6.“It is finished!” (John 19:30). “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit’” (Luke 23:46). 7. The revelation of this day teaches us to love everyone with unconditionally and without exception. JESUS sacrificed everything to show us that He is the way, the truth, and the life. And because of His mercy and grace, we have eternal life..

IN FOCUS CHILDREN’S COUNTERFLOW S.A.L.T. MINISTRIES “We value investing in the next generation; we believe that we have a responsibility to invest in the lives of both kids and youth. They are the future leaders of the church.” This is 10th Core Values of FCC. To fulfill this value, we have ministries under the Membership Growth and Development Cluster who is responsible in nurturing the Christian life of the members. Proverbs 22:6 says “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Through our Children’s Ministry, the journey of our future leaders of FCC starts. During the worship celebrations, the kids have their own activity. Children from nursery up to 11 years old are placed in different levels according to their age. Our dedicated teachers take care of the kids, sharing God’s message, teaching them Christian values through Bible stories and interactive gamesKids are divided to Cubbies, Sparks, Flames, and Torch groups. Aside from these groups, CM also participates in the worship services though the Timbrels and Children’s Choir. CM is not limited to stories and coloring activities, they also aim to introduce to the kids the traditional Filipino games we all grew up to. Each year, they hold the Palarong Pinoy and it is really one of the cutest activities of the church. The journey goes on once the children turns 12 years. They will become part of the Counterflow Youth. Our teens have their own worship celebration on Saturdays at 10:15am where the program format, the message, and activities are tailored to their age. This ministry would like to impart to our youth that they should follow the teachings of Jesus and even if it means opposing the norms of the world. Hence, the name is Counterflow, as they don’t need to go with the flow of the society, especially when it is not pleasing to the eyes of the Lord. Camp Rock is the year-end gathering of our youth where they reflect and look forward to another year of being a child of God. TSingles and young professionals are encouraged to join S.A.L.T., Singles Abiding in Light and Truth. The ministry helps the single yuppies to selfdevelopment and spiritual growth through prayer, bible studies, mutual support groups and recreational activities. In this time of challenges, it is a pressure to stay on track and this is what S.A.L.T. ministry does. To remind the singles that through this ministry the church got their back in times of challenges and unbearable life burden. This is the kind of barkada that we would want to belong to. They will be with you in times of troubles, will lift you up when you hit rock bottom, will cheer you at every battle and will celebrate every bit of success you achieve. We invite everyone to join these ministries and be part of the future of FCC. Age is just a number, our heart to serve and inspire will never get old. By: Sis Mylene Honert

Throughout the creative journey, a total of eight logo designs were meticulously crafted and presented to the board for consideration. Ultimately, one design emerged victorious during the selection process, embodying the essence of the Filipino Christian Church's 40th anniversary celebration. Inspired by the patriotic hues of the Philippine flag – red, blue, and yellow – the logo seamlessly integrates the number "40" into the timeless symbol of infinity. This ingenious fusion symbolizes the perpetual journey of spiritual growth and radiance within God's divine love. As we embark on this milestone year under the theme "40fied: Go, Grow, and Glow in God's Love," we gratefully acknowledge and glorify God for the creation of this emblematic logo. 40FIED GO, GROW, AND GLOW IN GOD’S LOVE LOGO DESIGN BY: GELO SALAZAR

Though the tumor is still malignant, my test results were all good and no organs were affected. I lost all my hair, but I enjoyed all my hairstyles. From short cut to completely bald. As a matter of fact, it suits me well. I don't need to brush, style and save a lot of money by buying shampoo. The pain was inevitable, however my body recovered immediately and all praise to God as there are times that I don’t feel anything at all. I underwent a successful single mastectomy. After the operation, I never felt any severe discomfort, but very mildly and bearable. I hoped and prayed for a miraculous healing that one of my tests will show negative of cancer. It didn't happen, the tumor was consistently malignant. I hoped and prayed that my treatment plan will not be chemotherapy or surgery. But the doctor told me that the treatments were chemotherapy and surgery. There's no other option. I hoped and prayed that during chemo I won’t lose my hair. But again, the doctor told me that I will lose my hair and it was 100% sure. I hoped and prayed before my first session of Chemo that I won't feel pain and no side effects of drugs in my body but I felt body pain and chest pain when I got tired and I even had foodtaste problems. It was May of 2023 when the Doctor told me that I have stage 2 breast cancer. End of stage 2 going to 3 to be exact. Sadness and anxiety swept over me immediately. Not for myself, but for my family, especially for Inang. “God, please embrace me while I sleep”. This was my prayer as I could not sleep. His response was immediate. I felt hope, I felt peace and I felt loved. I woke up the next day not realizing I had it. My God and Miracle Worker My God and Miracle Worker My Heavenly Father: THE DIAGNOSIS Christian life is not a bed of roses. Not perfect and with challenges along. THE CHANGES SIS. ROMELA BAJO

I anchored my faith in this promise with our Lord Jesus Christ, that despite what I faced and will face in the future, I have peace and joy that only our Lord Jesus Christ can give. I praise and thank God with all my heart, with all my soul and all my life, To God be all the glory! Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” I completed a total of 6 sessions of chemotherapy last November, and underwent 2 surgeries this January. What He promised us is a kingdom not here on earth but in heaven. A KINGDOM WHERE WE WILL NOT SUFFER ANYMORE. A KINGDOM FOR ETERNITY. By God’s mercy and grace, I am finally healed and cancer free! THE HOPE In the midst of my suffering, I prayed to God, “If you're willing to heal me Lord, please heal me. But if it's not your will, please Lord give me strength. Physically, emotionally and spiritually.” God is indeed a faithful God. With His grace and mercy, He sustained me all throughout. I fully surrendered and trusted our God. The God who holds everything. How about you? Are you currently experiencing some challenges? In your health, financial standing. Or maybe you feel broken or mourning a loss of a loved one, always remember that God didn't promise us that we will not face difficulties and sufferings in life and even death here on earth.

“I CHOOSE NOT TO LIVE MY LIFE OUT OF FEAR OF WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN BUT OUT OF FAITH IN WHAT COULD HAPPEN…” - Sis. Charity Poculan Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible because it gives me a sense of peace. It was September of 2019 when I first arrived in Abu Dhabi. Excited and feeling optimistic I told myself, “This is it! Another chapter in my life in another country as I turn 50.” While I spent most of my time with my family, I neglected my relationship with God. Sure, I go to church and would pray sometimes but still occupied on what to expect the next day.

January of 2020 I started losing appetite. Body pains and headaches soon followed. On the morning of February 6, I started vomiting to the point that I couldn't get up. Thinking that it was just a simple sickness, we decided to visit Sheikh Khalifa Medical Centre (SKMC) . Little did I know that my life will never be the same after that. The doctor ran some various tests and after some time he called my husband to share the diagnosis. Immediately, I sensed something was not right. I need to undergo dialysis. My world crashed.I cried and started asking God why? “I only have 5 years to live!”. Like my uncle, who I took care of until his last breath before I came to the UAE. These were the thoughts that raced through my head. I underestimated the power of God. I was very anxious when I signed the document required for the operation. “What if I won't survive? I have a son I left in the Philippines.” “How can I tell him my condition?” “How will my life be as a dialysis patient?” Worried about the things that are not yet happening, God suddenly comforted me with His Word: I was hospitalized for almost a month. I had battles in my mind where I questioned God, doubted my faith, lost hope and cried. But God is amazing. He gives us peace that surpasses all understanding. “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27c). Months had passed. My body slowly adjusted to dialysis. It was never easy as this happened during the first hit of pandemic. I am worried about going out and unfamiliar on how to commute. But God helped me overcome my fears. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God”. (Philippians 4:6 ) I’m in my 4th year now as a dialysis patient. Though a lot of challenges happened in between since the diagnosis ( 2 more minor operations, tested positive for Covid, my husband lost his job, and my son had to stop his schooling), I never felt so good about myself. God taught me how to be humble, patient, trust and obey Him. During this season I learned how to seek His words to find peace and surrender everything to Him. Surely, these last 4 years are the best years of my life, and I am looking forward to what God has in store for me in the years to come. As Romans 8:28 says“ And we know that In all things God works together for the good of those who love Him and those who are called according to His purpose.

The “Shalom Project” Culmination of Financial Literacy Series Shining in Shalom cont.. Another milestone has been uncovered by the whole family of Filipino Christian Church, UAE– the Culmination of Financial Literacy Series through our “Shalom Project”. The project reflects our giving hearts in unity of preparing our next generation’s place of worship as our absolute legacy. It was indeed a successful culmination with the help of the pointers coming from the series of “Financial Literacy”, which enlightened each member about the importance in obeying God through helping the church ministries financially. Across the three worship celebrations of FCC Abu Dhabi (Filipino and International Celebrations), we were able to collect the total amount of AED 15, 650.00. This amount has been allocated to support the PHASE 2 stage of the “Shalom Project” in the Philippines. Furthermore, right at the same day of the culmination (30 December 2023), the groundbreaking of the Phase 2 took place and joyfully witnessed by the whole congregation through the live session on zoom meeting. The event was led by our dear Senior Pastor, Pastor Benjamin Masiglat along with some of our beloved brethren who returned to the Philippines after working in the UAE. What made this project so special was that the “Time Capsule” where the letters from our Pastors and other significant documents were placed in a box and gently tucked under the foundation of the “Shalom Project”. This time capsule shall be opened 40 years from the present time, a complete cycle of one generation per se. The unveiling of FCC Logo was unveiled, which has been carefully engraved at the entrance gate of the project site. This also marked the end of the PHASE 1 and the beginning of the PHASE 2 respectively. It was not an easy challenge, but with God we believe that everything is POSSIBLE according to His will and glory. As we commit on finishing the “Shalom Project” to the Lord, may we stand firm and continue to encourage each other in accomplishing our goal to prepare our next generation’s legacy. Together we stand and completely dedicate this project to the hand of our Lord Jesus Christ until His return. Philippians 1:6 : 6 “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you swill carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” By Sis. Joy Mangibin

Shining on Shalom: A Thanksgiving Testimony July of last year when the ground breaking of FCC Shalom Center Project Phase 1 - Fence Construction in San Benito, Lipa Batangas was held; we witnessed the event via zoom during the Friday Worship celebration. It was a great feeling that we witnessed the start of the construction of FCC Shalom Christian Center. Personally, I have mixed emotions - happy, excited, thankful but at the same time a little uneasy. I was happy & excited (same feeling with the congregation) as we are now seeing little by little the legacy that FCC Abu Dhabi will leave to the next generations. I am thankful that in my own little ways I am part of building this legacy through the giving of tithes/offerings and being member of Stewardship Ministry. I felt uneasy at the same time also as there are tasks/responsibilities to do once the project has begun. The Phase 1 - Fence Construction project started, there were meetings held between FCC Shalom Center team, the contractor, Avoda and the FCC team. There are documentations required from both the contractor and FCC Done through numerous exchange of messages via email, messenger and WhatsApp. There were times that I struggled, overwhelmed and felt burdened because of internal and external factors, but I thank the team (special mention to Sis Doris, Kuya Edz & Elder Ages) for their support. I saw and admired the love, dedication, service and commitment to God through FCC. I thank the Lord for the experiences and the people who are part of this project. I thank and praise the LORD for the personal learnings and realizations. Phase 1 is now completed (and the design team will be busy preparing for Phase 2. By: Zenaida Marquez Last December 30, we had the dedication, burying of the time capsule and ground breaking of the Phase 2 Project - Construction of FCC Worship Hall. I, along with other FCC Abu Dhabi members and previous members (Elder Becky, Sis Rose, Sis Divine, Sabale couple etc.) were physically present during that memorable event. The event was a joyous occasion. I felt proud being an FCC member and grateful of what God will accomplish to FCC. Maybe most if not all are excitedly following the progress and anticipating the completion of the FCC Shalom Christian Center while others are anxious if we can finish this “big project”. Let’s just remember that we have a “Big Financer”. As we build this Shalom center, may we also build a stronger FCC community! Let us all pray, give and work together for the glory of God!
