(The worksheet is a fill in the blank so that students can pay attention to the video and also keep these notes with them for later activities). ACTIVITY 4 Before students leave, have them fill out an Exit Ticket to see if they fully understood the importance of this lesson. A sample Exit Ticket is provided that can be printed.

Educator/facilitator options for this activity: • Lead the discussion • Have a student lead a class discussion • Create smaller breakout groups with student discussion leaders Discussion leaders can use the following questions to help guide and facilitate open and honest conversation. It is important to create a space where students not only feel comfortable being vulnerable, but are able to show their peers empathy and compassion. Please encourage students to share their thoughts if they feel comfortable doing so. DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: 1. Why is thinking of how you want to be treated, or having empathy, important when spending time on social media? 2. What would you do or say if you saw someone being bullied on the internet? Students will use the Cyberbullying Facts: Graphic Organizer to capture their research that they will use in designing their infographic. Once complete, students should present their infographic to the class. • Infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data, or knowledge which can be used to present information quickly and clearly. The students’ infographics should include statistics, facts, images, and definitions of what cyberbullying is. • Show the students the results of a search on “Cyberbullying statistics” so they know where to start. • Have students fill out Cyberbullying Facts: Graphic Organizer where they will be guided to define cyberbullying and for four important/interesting facts they want to share. • Students will use the facts they recorded on their organizer, as well as graphics, drawings, and emojis, to create their own cyberbullying infographic in a slide format. • Once completed, have the students share their work with the class. • Take time to discuss how each infographic is similar or different and what facts seem to stick out the most.
