Cabrera, Marielle Cloinela A.

This course requirement is a test of what I've learned, as
evidenced by my creativity and critical and reflective
thinking abilities. The portfolio depicts my encounters
with God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. As a Louisian, I
am expected to become a living witness of the Christian
faith by reflecting on all of the lessons learned in this
course and gaining wisdom from the wise. In addition,
by sharing my experiences, insights, and ideas, I am
helping to form and transform the Christian community
in my own special way.

A. INTRODUCTION

HI, MY NAME IS MARIELLE CLOINELA A. CABRERA!

I AM A FIRST-YEAR COLLEGE STUDENT, TAKING
UP BS IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING. MY FIRST
NAME MEANS "LITTLE MARY" AND DUE TO
THAT, I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A CLOSE
RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD THE FATHER AND
MOTHER MARY. BEING AN ALTAR SERVER FROM
ELEMENTARY UP UNTIL SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ALSO HELPED
ME IN DISCOVERING MYSELF AND HELP BUILD MY CHARACTER.
I HAVE AN ACTIVE AND HIGHLY SOCIABLE PERSONA WHICH
HELPED ME GAIN FRIENDS AND ALSO BECOME A PERSON WHO
CAN LEAD. I PRIDE MYSELF ON BEING RESPONSIBLE,
INDEPENDENT, EMPATHETIC, AND PERSEVERING.

B. LEARNINGS FROM THE SUBJECT

DESPITE LEARNING ABOUT THE SAME TOPICS FOR
THE PAST 14 YEARS, THERE WAS ALWAYS
SOMETHING NEW TO LEARN AND DISCOVER IN
THIS SUBJECT. FROM CHRISTIAN FORMATION TO
CHRISTIAN LIVING, AND NOW CFE. I HAVE
LEARNED ABOUT THE DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF THE
CHRISTIAN FAITH AND THE BIBLE. I HAVE
INDULGED IN A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE
OLD TESTAMENT, OF OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH
GOD, AND HIS PRESENCE THROUGHOUT HISTORY,
I HAVE ALSO REFRESHED MY KNOWLEDGE ABOUT
MOTHER MARY AND DISCOVERED NEW LESSONS
ABOUT ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST. LASTLY, I WALKED
WITH JESUS AGAIN AS WE DISCUSSED HIS PUBLIC
MINISTRY. LEARNING ABOUT THE BIBLE AND
APPLYING ITS TEACHINGS IN OUR LIFE IS A GREAT
WAY TO FULFILL OUR MISSION HERE ON EARTH.
AS LOUISIANS, WE ARE CALLED TO BE SERVICE-
ORIENTED, SOCIALLY INVOLVED, LOVING AND
LIVE-GIVING, SELF-DIRECTED AND COMPETENT,
AND CHRIST-CENTERED AND COMPASSIONATE. IN
THIS CLASS, I LEARNED THAT AS LOUISIANS, WE
SHOULD BE THE INSTIGATOR OF CREATING
HEAVEN HERE ON EARTH.

Module 1 - Bible

A King Has No Friends

Module 1

THE BIBLE IS A REMARKABLE COLLECTION OF VARIED
BOOKS AND DESPITE HAVING ONE IN OUR HOME, I

FOUND IT TAXING TO READ WHEN I WAS A CHILD. AS I
GREW UP, MOST OF MY RELIGION TEACHERS

ENCOURAGED US TO READ THE BIBLE, AS WELL AS MY
FAMILY MEMBERS (ESPECIALLY THE ELDERLY). IT WAS
ONLY AT HIGH SCHOOL THAT I WAS ABLE TO READ THE
BIBLE AND ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND IT. I ACTED ON MY
OWN ACCORD AND FOUND THE STORIES INTERESTING

AS WELL AS THE LESSONS THAT THEY WANT TO
INSTILL. WHEN I OPENED THE BIBLE, THE FIRST STORY

THAT I READ WAS A STORY ABOUT A WOMAN AND A
DRAGON. YES, IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION. FOR THIS
MODULE, I CHOSE TO MAKE A SHORT STORY ABOUT A

PAGAN KING WHO HAD AN ADVENTURE AND A LIFE-
CHANGING EXPERIENCE WITH THE BIBLE. I WANTED TO
SHOW HOW GOD'S WORD CAN CHANGE A PERSON'S LIFE

AND HOW HIS GUIDANCE CAN SAVE US. HAVE FUN
READING MY STORY! AND REFLECTING ON ITS
MESSAGE.

MODULE 2
PROPHETS

Final Symptom

MODULE 2

I CREATED A SHORT STORY ENTITLED "FINAL
SYMPTOM", IN WHICH A VERSE FROM PROPHET
ISIAH'S BOOK IS MENTIONED. THE STORY
TELLS US A LOT ABOUT OUR RELATIONSHIP
WITH GOD AND HOW THE SCRIPTURES CAN BE
APPLIED IN OUR DAILY LIVES. SUICIDE IS
ONE OF MANY GLOBAL ISSUES THAT HAVE
EXISTED IN THE PAST AND CONTINUE TO
EXIST TODAY. IT IS ONLY RECENTLY THAT
MENTAL HEALTH HAS BEEN GIVEN AS MUCH
ATTENTION AND IMPORTANCE AS THE OTHER
ASPECTS OF OUR HEALTH. INFUSING THESE
TWO TOPICS ABOUT GOD AND A CHURCHLY
ISSUE GIVES US HOPE AND ALSO A
REMINISCENT THAT GOD IS PRESENT IN OUR
LIVES, EVEN IF WE MAY NOT FEEL IT.

MOTHER MARY

MODULE 3

BEING A MOTHER IS A JOB THAT DOESN'T GET AS
MUCH RECOGNITION THAT ALL MOTHERS
DESERVE. IT'S NOT EASY BEING A MOM AND
THAT IS WHY FOR THIS MODULE, I CHOSE TO
MAKE A POEM FOR THE THREE SIGNIFICANT
WOMEN IN MY LIFE. MY MOTHER, MY AUNT, AND
MY GRANDMOTHER. JUST BECAUSE THEY DON'T
COMPLAIN MEAN THAT THEIR JOB IS EASY. THE
COUNTLESS SACRIFICES THAT THEY MAKE FOR
THE FAMILY, THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE AND
CARE, AND EVERYTHING THAT THEY DO MAKES
THEM THE SUPERWOMAN IN EVERY
HOUSEHOLD. "YOU ARE AN ANGEL IN THE SHAPE
OF MY MUM", A LINE FROM ED SHEERAN'S
SUPERMARKET FLOWERS, I TRULY BELIEVE
THAT MOMS ARE A GIFT FROM GOD AND I HOPE
THE THREE MOMS IN MY LIFE KNOW THAT, NO
MATTER HOW ROCKY THE ROAD GOES.

MODULE 4
JESUS' PUBLIC MINISTRY

MODULE 4

This poem is what I envision whenever I think
about a transformed world community - the
essence of Jesus' public ministry. It is mainly
about following and carrying out Jesus' example
despite the challenges that we may face. The
Heavenly Father will always guide us in all
that we do. As we follow the path that God has
set for us, we should also remember to continue
the works that Jesus left here on earth and
that is to serve our neighbors.

CONCLUSION

What a journey it has been! The course CFE 101 has taught me
doctrines, Christian living, teachings, and many valuable lessons about
God and the different personas in the Bible. people who have played a
big role in the plan of God from the beginning of the Bible to its end.
To be honest, this subject had the most active instructor out of all the
teachers that I met this first semester. Thank you, Sir Nap! Your great
efforts to share your knowledge and wisdom regarding God's word
and Christian living will not be in vain or forgotten. I was able to learn
about other religious groups and see the similarities as well as
differences between us. This subject is typically perceived as boring,
but through God's guidance and our active instructor, I enjoyed each
lesson that we discussed. These lessons were not merely readings, but
the learnings I attained from the course reflect on my daily life, where
I am able to apply them and experience the grace of God itself. Apply
them in my character, actions, and way of living. Most of all, I was able
to write down my thoughts and sort out a lot of personal matters with
my spiritual aspect and the Father's will for me, which I think is a very
significant realization and reflection that helps me out whenever I am
experiencing some lows in life, especially now as a first-year college
student. I cannot say that the transition from the pandemic and high
school life to college is easy, as it was very hard, especially for me.
Being independent and away from my family, having these lessons
with God, and talking about the right topics help me realize that I am
on the right path as long as I am with Him. That I will succeed in life
with His guidance, and according to Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the
plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not
to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." And I truly will
aim for that bright future that He has planned for me.
