DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES The Departmental conducted a series of workshops
Workshops for Students of Printing Technology

On 20th February 2015, a one-day student workshop on “Use
of Spectrophotometer in Press Room” was conducted for the 20
students of III B.E (Printing Technology) (2011-12 batch) in
collaboration with M/s Hitech Universal Printers & Publishers,
Coimbatore. The resource person was Mr.Panthala Selvan,
Proprietor, PAPER (Pressman Academy for Print Education and
Resource), Chennai, an UGRA certified person and colour
consultant for the printing industry in India, Bangladesh and
Srilanka. The coordinator was Dr.TKS Lakshmi Priya.

Mr.Saravanan, addressing the students From 1st October 2014 and 14th October 2014 student
about Microcontroller workshop on “Microprocessor and Microcontroller” was
conducted for the II year students of B.E (Printing Technology)
(2012-2013). The resource person was Mr.Saravanan, Trainer at
Techgurukul, Coimbatore.

Release of National Conference Proceedings
The Proceedings of National Conference “Techniques To Hasten Emergency Food Relief “ (PACK4RELIEF-
2014) conducted by Department of Printing Technology and Department of Food Processing and Preservation
Technology, Faculty of Engineering, was released on National Science Day 27.2.15. The proceedings was
published by Elsevier Publications with the ISBN (978-93-5107-301-7). The book was released by Dr. M.N.G.
Mani, Chief Executive Officer, International Council for Education of People with Visual Impairment (ICEVI),
Coimbatore. The first copy was received by our Vice Chancellor and the second copy was received by Dr.
Chenna Reddy Aswath, Principal scientist (Horticulture) Division of Ornamental Crops Indian Institute of
Horticultural Research, Bangalore.

Scholarship for Students

Our students received scholarship from Coimbatore Master Printers Association (COMPRIA) on
14.12.2014. Coimbatore Master Printer's Association (COMPRIA) organized a felicitation function on 14th Dec
2014 at Hotel Aloft at 6.15 PM. The Chief Guests were Mr.Manoj P.Mehta, AIFMP, Mr. O.Arumugasamy,
Chairman, Vijayalakshmi Educational Trust, Coimbatore, and Mr.C.D.Kumaravel, President, COMPRIA. The
function was meant to

(i) Felicitate Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, M/s Maruthi Printers, Coimbatore, for having been awarded the National
award

(ii) To give Best Overall Performer award and Rs.10,000/- to Ms.Bharathi.M B.E (PT) alumni, graduated in
2014.

(iii) To give Best Performer Award and Rs.10,000/- to Ms.N.Nivitha B.E (PT) alumni, graduated in 2014 and

Students participated in the national Level Technical Symposium
'Imprint' at Anna University, 12th &13th March 2015 and won the prizes
