Criteria to be considered for inclusion on the A3 List

Specialist Judges

To have the support of the Club and have:
Been active in Border Terriers for a minimum of 10 years
A minimum of seven years experience of judging the breed
Judged at least one Breed Club Show and/or two Breed Club Supported Entry Shows at each
of which at least forty Border Terriers were entered and present
Judged at least two hundred and fifty Border Terriers in breed classes over an adequate
geographic spread of venues
Attended at least two Border Terrier Breed Specific Seminars run in accordance with the
relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice
Attended a Seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant
examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures
Attended a Seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Confirmation and Movement
Attended a Seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the relevant
examination on Confirmation and Movement to include “Hands On” Assessment on the points,
structure and conventional measurements of the Dog
Passed an examination or assessment if applicable
Submitted an application/questionnaire if requested to do so
Undertaken to write show critiques as customarily requested by the weekly dog press

Any person who wishes the committee of The Northern Border Terrier Club to consider them for inclusion on one of their judging lists is

Judging Lists will be issued to all fully paid up members of The Northern Border Terrier Club, but membership of the Club is not a pre-
requisite for gaining entry to the lists.
Judging Lists will also be issued to all General Championship Show Secretaries and to Secretaries of local Canine Societies in
Northumberland, Durham and elsewhere.
A copy of the Judging Lists is supplied to The Kennel Club with NBTC's Annual Returns.
Judging lists, including names, addresses and telephone numbers are held by the Club on computer for the distributions detailed above;
any judges not wishing any of their details to be used in this way should notify the secretary.
If any addresses, telephone numbers etc are incorrect or have changed and require revision on these lists, please advise the
Secretary.
The lists are reviewed annually. Any questionnaires, received by the secretary before the sub-committee meeting, will be considered, but
any received after the meeting will be held for consideration for the following year. The Secretary cannot enter into correspondence
regarding non-selection.
Some Terrier Group judges at Championship level have been included on these lists without the need for a judges questionnaire to be
completed, in accordance with the Kennel Club press release 333 of 1998.
