Module Description

FW101 - Basics of Computer

The student will understand the purpose and elements of information systems, they
will recognize the different types of computers, distinguish the main software types,
identify the components of a computer system, and understand how computers
communicate (No Prerequisite)

FW102 - Programming Techniques

The student will learn the programming concepts, the program life cycle, characteristics
of a good program, data handling, algorithms & program documentation. Students will
also be able to identify the types of errors. (No Prerequisite)

FW103 - Introduction to HTML5

Students will learn how to create electronic documents (called pages) that are
displayed on the World Wide Web. Each page contains a series of connections to
other pages called hyperlinks. (No Prerequisite)

FW104 - Introduction to CSS3

Students will learn how to include a CSS style sheet with the HTML code to design web
pages and make it more presentable (HTML Prerequisite)

FW105 - Introduction to JavaScript

Students will learn the principles of creating an effective web page, including an in-
depth consideration of information architecture. They will become familiar with
graphic design principles that relate to web design and learn how to implement
theories into practice (HTML & CSS Prerequisite)

FW106 - Single Page Web Applications with AngularJS

Students will learn the design of single-page applications and how AngularJS
facilitates their development, teaches developers how to use AngularJS to facilitate
development of single-page web applications that use the Model-View-Controller
(MVC) design pattern (JavaScript Prerequisite)

FW107 - Introduction to React

Students will learn the skills they need to use React to build modern applications,
and gain hands-on experience with the latest version of React and the tools for
developing React applications and building user interfaces specifically (JavaScript
Prerequisite)

FW108 - Introduction to Databases, MYSQL

Students will learn the concept of relational databases, how a database stores
information, create normalized tables, write efficient SQL statements, Learn how to
retrieve and manipulate data and other aspects in managing database applications.
(No Prerequisite)

FW109 - Building Web Applications in PHP

Students will learn how to design and develop dynamic, database-driven web
applications using PHP, they will learn how to connect to any ODBC-compliant
database, and perform hands on practice with a MySQL database to create database-
driven HTML forms and reports etc. Students also learn how to configure PHP and
Apache Web Server. Comprehensive lab exercises provide facilitated hands on
practice crucial to develop competence web sites. (MySQL Prerequisite)

FW110 - Introduction to Programming Using Java

The students will learn the fundamentals of the Java language and how it relates to OO
programming and the Object Model. Students will learn how to write, test, and debug
advanced-level Object-Oriented programs using Java.

FW111 - Introduction to C#

The students will learn the fundamentals of the C# language and how it relates to OO
programming and the Object Model. Students will learn how to write, test, and debug
advanced-level Object-Oriented programs using C#.

FW112 - Introduction to .Net

The goal of this module is to introduce the students to the basics of distributed
application development. We will introduce the students to Web Service development
and .NET remoting.
